Best Wireless Home Security Cameras 2017

Need to keep an eye on your abode from anywhere? Small, standalone Wi-Fi security cameras (also called IP cameras) are easy to set up, can stream video to your phone, tablet or PC, and will send you notifications if they detect motion or loud noises. Most cameras also provide night vision and automatic motion-activated recording.

We tested several of the best IP cameras on the market and rated each based on its performance, ease of use and affordability. Based on these criteria, our top pick is the Netgear Arlo Q ($150 at Amazon). We found that it had the best software, the most flexible options and the most affordable cloud-storage subscription plan of the cameras we tested.

A close runner-up is the Nest Cam Indoor ($199 at Amazon), which matches similarly excellent software with an attractive and sturdy design.

Here’s How the OnePlus 5 Can Beat Its Android Rivals

There’s no shortage of great choices if you want a new Android phone. Thanks to flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, the LG G6 and the Google Pixel, the market for Android devices has never been stronger. But all of that glorious tech doesn’t come cheap. Most of the current-generation flagships will set you back more than $700 or so, and prices of high-end phones are trending upward.

That’s why OnePlus has emerged as such an intriguing player in the Android landscape. The Chinese startup has shown that it can produce a very capable Android phone at nearly half the cost as the latest creation from the big guys. Tom’s Guide named last year’s OnePlus 3T, the company’s most recent device, the best unlocked phone for the money.

Fluance AB40 Soundbase Review: Small, Powerful, Affordable

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Fluance AB40 Soundbase Review: Small, Powerful, Affordable

While soundbars are far more popular than soundbases as a simple solution for improving your TV’s sound, a soundbase can be right for specific circumstances — if, for example, you have a TV with a stand that the soundbase can go under. But if you also want impressive sound quality, few soundbases will meet your needs. Fluance’s AB40 offers a sweet spot in terms of price and performance for a soundbase. It delivers full, loud sound with big bass — without a subwoofer — all for $199.

Design

At 26 x 14 x 3.9 inches, the AB40 is smaller but slightly taller than many soundbases, such as the 30 x 14.5 x 3.5-inch ZVOX 570 and the 28.4 x 15 x 2.5-inch Sonos Playbase.

Its dark wood top lends the AB40 a refined and sturdy look. Of course, you won’t see the top of the speaker very often, because your TV will be on top of it. The solidly built unit accommodates TVs weighing up to 150 pounds. By comparison, the ZVOX 570 has a weight limit of 110 pounds.

ASUSPRO B9940 Hands-on Review : First Impressions

ASUS has just launched its latest business notebook offering in the country earlier this week. Under the ASUSPRO brand, the B9440 is the sleekest business laptop from the brand. Here’s our quick look.

The ASUSPRO B9440 joins the likes of the XPS 13 with its extremely thin screen bezels. It’ll be the first thing you’d notice when you see the notebook. Due to that, you’ll get to enjoy a large 14-inch Full HD IPS display on a smaller 13-inch chassis. The panel is anti-glare with 72% NTSC and wide viewing angles.

Surprisingly, a webcam is nowhere to be found. No video chatting on the go unless you’ve got an external webcam with you. Also, your external webcam should have a USB Type-C connector or at leave have an adapter. The only I/O ports on the notebook are two USB Type-C (USB v3.1 Gen1) which are found on both sides of the display and a 3.5mm combo jack.

ASUS Blue Cave Smart Wi-Fi Router Hands-on Review

ASUS didn’t just feature new laptops during Computex 2017, they also showcased smart products like this dual-band Smart Wi-Fi router with a weird design. Meet the ASUS Blue Cave.

At first glance, the Blue Cave doesn’t look like your typical Wi-Fi router. For one, it’s boxy, wider and taller than most routers you see in the market. And it has a big blue hole in the middle. To be frank, it reminds me of the bladeless fan.

Still, it has some nice aesthetics to it. It has a simple facade that would sit well in a minimalist environment. The front, sides, and top, are devoid of any ports and buttons. It’s a bit hefty and the size is just as big as two smartphone boxes so it still doesn’t take much desk space.

Moto Z2 Play Review Roundup: What the Critics Love and Hate

A new modular phone from Motorola is on its way. The $499 Moto Z2 Play arrives later this summer, bringing another bunch of attachable accessories known as Moto Mods to the mix.

Though the phone won’t be available unlocked or through Verizon until July, some reviewers have already gotten their hands on the Z2 Play. And they’re generally impressed by what they’ve seen, even with some noticeable compromises from the original Moto Z Play.

Here’s what the critics are saying about the Moto Z2 Play.

The Verge

Dan Seifert of the Verge believes that Motorola’s new phone is better than the original, except in one key area — battery life. That’s a concession Motorola made to make the Z2 Play lighter and thinner than its predecessor. And Seifert seems to think the trade-off was worth it, as the Z2 Play is still a long-lasting phone, even if it’s not the multiday powerhouse that the original Z Play was.

Top 12 Best Tamron Lenses 2017

Having reviewed all of Tamron’s current lenses, we thought we’d compile a ‘top Tamron lenses’ list to help you make an informed decision when making your next lens purchase. There is a wide variety of lenses featured in this list, including primes and zooms for varying focal lengths, so there should be something for everyone.

1. Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (A025)

Tamron 70 200mm G2 Front Oblique View

The Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens is on the same level playing field as lenses costing up to twice as much, punching far above its weight. It may not have the same silky smoothness in operation as its more expensive competition, but it delivers the goods, making no compromise on image quality.

Add to that the amazing VC system and moisture and dust resistance and Tamron has a definite winner on their hands.

Anker SoundBuds Slim review

Anker has made a name for itself by selling a host of budget mobile phone accessories that are relatively inexpensive but manage to avoid looking cheap. The same can be said for the SoundBuds Slim, an in-ear Bluetooth sports headphone that can be had for less than $30 (£20; AU$70) online.

Let me preface the design discussion by saying that this headphone may very well have come out of the same Chinese factory that makes very similar-looking wireless earphones for other online-only brands like TaoTronics, so it’s hard to call these truly original or special.

anker-soundbuds-slim-01.jpg

That caveat aside, the SoundBuds Slim earphones do have a simple elegance to them and seem sturdily built with metal housings and a fairly thick cord. They’re also sweat resistant and come with a basic carrying pouch for storage. Battery life is rated at 7 hours at moderate volume levels, which is fairly decent for this type of headphone.

2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R Review

The Austrian manufacturer had a superlative field day at the EICMA in Milan, Italy. Taking the covers off the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, KTM shows of having no plans to be dethroned as the brand that gives us outright thrill seeking motorcycles along with being competitive.

When the flagship Super Duke was released in 2014, it blew us away and reigned supreme in the super naked market. It was a lethal weapon and had to be tamed. This time, it has got ton loads of updates for 2017 making this animal go berserk. KTM prefers it to be called ‘The Beast 2.0’.

KTM has always walked along the edge of extreme looks, and for 2017, it has given its flagship major visual updates and aesthetically the most notable change is the all-new headlight with a split design that has LED running both on DRL and the mains.

Denon AVR-S730H review

denon-avr-s730h-04

If you took a straw poll of five people and asked them to name an AV receiver manufacturer, it’s likely you’d hear the word “Denon.” The company has been at the receiver game for a long time, and this year’s AVR-S730H hits the current sweet spot between features and price.

At $479, it’s one of the best values among feature-packed receivers we’ve seen yet. (UK and Australian pricing and availability have yet to be announced, but expect a similar figure in pounds and double it in dollarydoos.) The recipe? Take two spoonfuls of atmospheric audio — both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X flavors — add a good splash of 4K compatibility and glaze with lashings of multiroom audio.

While sound quality doesn’t quite top our current favorite, the $600 Sony STR-DN1080, and the Sony has more versatile Google Cast streaming, it also costs more than the Denon. That’s not to say the S730H doesn’t sound good — if you’re looking to enter the world of Dolby Atmos and 4K movies without breaking the bank, it’s a great place to start.

Moto Z2 Play vs Z Play: What’s the difference?

On 1 June Motorola unveiled the Moto Z2 Play, the second-generation Moto Mods compatible smartphone in the mid-level Z-series lineup. There will be no “standard” Z2 this year, so it’s all eyes on the Play.

With Moto Mods – clip-on magnetic accessories, which magnetically attach as the rear plate of any Z-series phone – remaining as this phone’s major selling point, is there anything standout the Z2 Play offers that the original Play lacked?

Samsung Notebook 9 Pro preview: Flip screened laptop with built-in S Pen

Samsung announced its latest iteration of the Notebook 9 series at Computex this year and it comes with something extra. The Notebook 9 Pro has an embedded S Pen stylus and we got to go hands-on with the device on the show floor.

As the device was on the Microsoft stand – having first appeared on stage at the Microsoft keynote on Tuesday 30 May – some specs were missing. However, we could see that it’s a 15-inch 2-in-1 convertible with some pretty convincing power going on under the hood.

t was running on Windows 10 and is Hello capable through facial recognition. There is no fingerprint scanner though.

Inside, the CPU is an Intel Core i7-7500U with AMD’s Radeon TM 540 GPU providing the graphics. The Computex model showed 16GB of RAM, plus a 256GB SSD.

2017 Ferrari 488 GTB By Novitec Rosso Review

Before Novitec began tuning Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and McLarens, it staked its name and reputation on developing programs for Ferraris. It’s done quite well for itself considering that its business has expanded to other brands, but now, the famed German tuner is going back to its roots by developing a new program for the Ferrari 488 GTB, one that comes with a new aerodynamic widebody kit and increased amount of power totalling 772 horsepower and 658 pound-feet of torque.

If the numbers sound familiar, that’s because we’ve seen something similar from Novitec before, most notably on the 488 Spider. Since the two versions of the 488 are really differentiated by the presence and/or absence of a roof, it stands to figure that the tuner would end up releasing a similar kit for the GTB variant. Well, it’s happened and Novitec even threw in a new widebody kit and additional improvements on the exhaust and suspension for good measure. The finished product is what you’d expect from a tuner like Novitec. It’s well rounded and versatile enough to attract owners of the 488 GTB and get them to spend for the opportunity to have one fitted into their supercars.

Moto Z2 Play review: All the mod cons

Modular phones are in a rather interesting spot. At the end of 2016 Google canned Project Ara, its open-source modular mobile project. In 2017, the latest LG G-series unceremoniously ditched the company’s lacklustre “Friends” modules. Motorola, on the other hand, is forging onward with Moto Mods – magnetic clip-on back panel accessories with differing functions that connect with its Z-series smartphones.

The latest device to support Mods is the Moto Z2 Play: a 5.5-inch phone with mid-power specification and oodles of battery life wrapped into a slender metal frame, which updates last year’s original battery-heavy Z Play.

As the apparent last bastion of the modular mobile movement, the Z2 Play is not only the flag-bearer for Moto Mods, but for modular phones as a whole in 2017 and beyond. And with a US price of $499 (we anticipate a similar UK price, around £449/$561.25 when the device launches in Blighty this July), it’s on the right side of affordable to make it an attractive idea.

Denon D-M41DAB review

Denon didn’t necessarily need to release a new micro system. The multi-Award-winning D-M40DAB has hung around our most-read reviews list like an Adele record that simply refuses to drop out of the charts.

Logically, then, there are two explanations for the D-M41DAB. Either it’s a subliminal reminder that Denon remains at the top of this tree or, in the near-two-year wait for the product’s emergence, the company has once again managed to significantly better itself.

The lengths to which Denon has gone with this updated system would suggest the latter.

2018 Kymco Xciting 400i Review – First Ride

We were snuggled into a conference room in the upscale Aloft hotel in Asheville, North Carolina, when PR man Peter Jones kicked off Kymco’s 2018 new-product launch by telling us that scooters in the U.S. market are “such a small thing, they’re not even really a thing… scooters and soccer, they’re just not a part of our culture.”

053117-2018-kymco-xciting-400i-action-6-582x388

But the lack of scooter culture has made Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco itself a thing. After staying doggedly in the American scooter market for the better part of two decades, Kymco has a coast-to-coast dealer network, a good reputation for reliability and value, and is basically the only purveyor of value-priced, high-performance maxi-scooters.

¿Que? That’s right, Kymco’s flagship model is the new-for-2018 $5,999 Xciting 400i, and as far as I can tell, Piaggio’s $6,399 Beverly 350 is its only competition, showing how the market has changed in the last decade. Suzuki’s Burgman 400 retails for $7,999, but Suzuki didn’t import them for 2017; dealers may have leftover models. Vespa’s GTV and GTS look gorgeous and ride like champs, but their air-cooled mills don’t have the testicoli to keep up with Kymco.

iT7 Audio iT7x2i review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho iT7 Audio iT7x2i

iT7 Audio popped up around four years ago with one of the less likely celebrity headphone tie-ins: ex-Aston Villa player Ian Taylor. As endorsements go, it wasn’t quite Dr Dre – but at least the era of celebrity headphones is more-or-less over.

The iT7x2is are a new version of the iT7xs we tested back then, but with a lower price and a classier design. While not category leaders, they are a good buy for those who want wireless headphones without spending a packet.

Build and comfort

The iT7 Audio iT7x2is are full-size wireless headphones with just enough pizzazz to let them fit in next to big-brand pairs at twice the money. They are mostly plastic, but there’s a thin veneer of brushed aluminium on those parts of the headband not covered with padding.

HTC U11 Review: You won’t buy this, but you should

HTC U11 Review: You won’t buy this, but you should

HTC learned the hard way that, in the cutthroat smartphone industry, you need to bring your A-game each and every time. Make a misstep and, though recovery isn’t impossible, it’ll cost you dearly – cash that HTC just doesn’t have to splash around. The stakes are high for the HTC U11, then, and in a year packed with compelling flagships from deep-pocketed rivals it can’t afford less than a surefire hit. Question is, does the U11 have what it takes?

Design

For a company that has always been a relative minnow in the smartphone pool, HTC has a track record of spending a bigger percentage than most on industrial design. The result of that is a legacy of handsome, well-designed devices that occasionally border on beautiful. Phones that, even if you can find flaws in other decisions HTC might have made, you can’t question their aesthetics.

5 Things You Need To Know About The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2

The new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is the first legitimate challenger to the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro’s all-terrain dominance since the latter hit the scene as a 2015 model. While in the past the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and the Colorado Z71 each upped the ante of what was possible in a mid-size pickup once the pavement disappeared, they were truly competitors to the more modest Tacoma TRD Off-Road, with the TRD Pro representing a higher level of capability.

5 Things You Need To Know About The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2

Check out these 5 things you need to know about the Colorado ZR2 and see if it’s enough to sway you from choosing Toyota’s strong-selling mid-size marvel.

1. Yes, You Really Can Jump It

Rightly or wrongly, the first-generation Ford SVT Raptor did more than any other vehicle to romanticize the notion of a factory pickup you could jump – and safely land – without needing to make substantial modifications to the suspension or frame The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 takes that same high-flying attitude and shrinks it down to the mid-size segment, offering a more nimble trail-duster that’s willing to soar should you hit a dirt berm or dune at exactly the right speed.

Toyota Yaris v Mazda 2 comparison

Light cars are a strange category in Australia. While sales are on the nose, buyers still flock to this segment in the hunt for a first, or last car.

With both models recently benefitting from an update, we lined up two favourites to see which is most worthy of your hard-earned dollar. It’s the Mazda 2 Genki head-to-head against the Toyota Yaris ZR.

Cars in this segment boast excellent visibility from the front, rear and sides and nowadays are loaded with the same or similar features as their larger brand counterparts. That’s certainly the case with the Mazda 2and Yaris models tested here now kitted out with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).

What we want from watchOS 4 : The features Apple should add to its next watchOS update

Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference is just around the corner, and you know what that means: Apple is likely to announce and demo watchOS 4, the next phase of its smartwatch operating system.

For the past three iterations of watchOS, Apple has slowly figured out what people like about the Apple Watch (Fitness! Notifications!) and what people don’t like (weird communication things!), overhauling the operating system where needed.

The Apple Watch with watchOS 3 is almost completely different from what the Apple Watch with watchOS 1 was, and that refinement is likely to continue with watchOS 4. So what should Apple add? Follow us down the rabbit hole, won’t you.

2017 GMC Acadia Denali review

Cast  your mind back to 2007. The iPhone had just been released, your mom wasn’t on Facebook yet and Twitter still hadn’t reached its first birthday. Now think about how much all that has changed. You could say the same for the 2017 GMC Acadia.

Getting its first redesign since 2007, the three-row Acadia SUV, with room for six or seven, sports improvements across the board. It’s lighter, it handles better and it has more safety equipment. It’s also smaller, has less room inside and costs a bit more than the competition.

2017-gmc-acadia-denali-17.jpg

The Acadia comes in six trim lines, and as is usually the case, the folks at GMC sent me the top-of-the-line Denali. This luxury-oriented trim line, available on all GMC models, distinguishes itself with flashy touches of chrome on the outside and bits of leather and wood on the inside. Special grille full of chrome? Check. Bright aluminum 20-inch wheels? Check, again. Dual chrome exhaust tips? You don’t even need to ask, amigo.

Elgato Eve Degree Review: A simple temperature & humidity HomeKit sensor

elgato-eve-review-0-980x420

Apple’s HomeKit may have had a quiet start, but third-party accessories for an iOS smart home are gradually picking up pace. Latest to store shelves is Elgato‘s Eve Degree, a compact temperature, humidity, and air pressure sensor, wrapped up in a simple and handsome design, and promising to be the smart trigger your connected home has been asking for.

Elgato’s hardware is minimalistic in a faintly “Dieter Rams” way. The anodized aluminum body is water-resistant, so can withstand some splashes and even outdoor mounting if it’s not getting submerged. Power is from a supplied coin-style battery which should last for around a year; you can replace it yourself. It uses low-power Bluetooth LE to communicate with your phone.

That’s where you get data logging, with the Eve app keeping track of temperature, humidity, and air pressure measurements. It’ll show them as a graph within the app, or allow you to export them for analysis elsewhere. Elgato is pitching it as an easy way for those with green fingers to keep track of their plants, as well as broader monitoring of home conditions.
