D-Link DCS-8100LH Review: 180-Degree Wi-Fi Camera

Most IP cameras have limited angle of view, generally around 120-degrees. For those who needed a wide coverage, they usually get cameras that can pan and tilt, though they can look bulky and intimidating. Here on review is the D-Link DCS-8100LH home camera that offers 180-degree view. What it means is that the camera can capture everything from wall to wall, without any blind spots.

The design is quite unique, with the stand integrated into the unit. I can tilt the camera to about 100-degrees, and the stand is also heavy enough to counter the weight of the camera unit, hence it does not easily topple over. The stand can be rotated around the camera circumference, so you can mount the base on the walls and tilt the camera to level up.

The micro-USB connector to the AC power is angled and the cable runs underneath the stand with a gap. Excellent little design attention.

The 2018 Lamborghini Huracan Performante doesn’t want to kill you

“Don’t crash.” Two simple words, but with a lot of emphasis when you’re talking about the brand new 2018 Lamborghini Huracan Performante. The line-up of professional drivers responsible for coaxing faster and faster lap times – not to mention more and more trophies for the automaker’s awards cabinet – currently facing me does nothing to disabuse the knowledge that, on a track, I’m a novice at best. Suddenly, the idea of planting a raging $280k supercar into a wall seems all too possible.

Lamborghini, it’s fair to say, markets its fearsome reputation well. In age when a Bugatti Chiron can take you to 261 mph with little more than a shrug, while Ferrari has become the de-facto choice for the Riviera GT jaunt, the raging bull promises nothing but pure, unbridled aggression. The Countach may be long behind us, but its spirit lives on.

Best Bluetooth headphones 2017: The best wireless in-ear, on-ear and over-ear headphones to buy

Ready to cut the cord? Then check out our guide to the ultimate Bluetooth wireless headphones of 2017

*** Note : £1 = $1.33 (correct at time of post)

Apple’s decision to ditch the traditional headphone socket from the iPhone 7 really caused a stir. But whatever type of smartphone you own, you can save yourself a lot of hassle by opting for a set of Bluetooth wireless headphones. MacBook Pro Thunderbolt 3 adapter guide: How to connect an iPhone, display, hard drive, and more

The new MacBook Pro comes with two or four external ports, depending on the model you pick. But those ports are only of one type: Thunderbolt 3, which is compatible with USB-C.

But you probably have devices that use USB-A, Thunderbolt 1, Thunderbolt 2, DisplayPort, HDMI, or something else. How do you connect these devices? With an adapter.

If you’re planning to buy a new MacBook Pro, make sure you set aside a considerable amount of cash for the adapters you need. Apple doesn’t include any in the box, except for a power adapter.

Your best bet is to get a combination dock, like the Satechi Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter ($60 on Amazon). It connects to the MacBook Pro via USB-C, and includes a USB-C pass-through port, two USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI port with 4K (30Hz) support. With this, you don’t have to carry around multiple adapters.

If you don’t want a dock, or you can’t find a dock with the mix of connections you need, Apple or another company probably has an adapter for you.

Panasonic Leica DG Elmarit 200mm f/2.8 Power O.I.S Review

A 200mm f/2.8 lens might seems a fairly standard offering, but when we consider this is for MFT format and we apply the 2x crop factor, we are left with a field of view comparable to a 400mm f/2.8 on a 35mm-format full frame camera. Fit the 1.4x teleconverter and the resulting 280mm f/4 optic has a  “35mm-equivalent” of 560mm f/4, a very exciting prospect. The resulting package is also extremely compact, a fraction of the size and weight of comparable-effect full frame lenses. Coupled up to the Panasonic Lumix G6 camera body used for this review, let’s see if this all lives up to the promise.

Handling and Features

This is clearly from the outset a beautifully made lens. All the controls are super-smooth in operation, everything fits together with precision and the overall finish is exemplary. Weighing in at 1245g, this might seem heavy for the format, but consider the alternatives in larger formats and we really have a relatively light package for the intended purposes.

HP Spectre x360 13t (late 2017) review: An 8th-gen CPU leads a raft of upgrades

Packing a quad-core 8th-gen Core i7 and a ton of improvements, this is easily the best convertible laptop you can buy today.

HP’s Spectre x360 proves that HP doesn’t like to sit still. While some companies show up to the dance in the same outfit over and over again (looking at you, MacBook Air 13 and Dell XPS 13), HP has revamped its premium 2-in-1 over and over again—no fewer than three times in the last two years, in fact.

In this latest and third version of the Spectre x360 13t, HP didn’t just jam in an 8th-gen quad-core Core i7 and call it an upgrade. It’s also given the entire laptop a significant refresh—one that addresses almost every quibble we’ve had with prior versions. This should give the MacBook Air 13 and the Dell XPS 13 yet another reason to worry.

HP wasn’t content to sit still with its excellent Spectre x360 13t.

Alpine A110 2018 Review

Legendary French brand re-launches and instantly creates convincing alternative to a Porsche Cayman

You’re forgiven if you’ve never heard of Alpine. After all, the French brand never sold its quirky rear-engine creations Down Under but over in Europe its motorsport heritage is the stuff of legends. Plucky Alpine won against bigger, better-funded teams like Porsche in the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s. Reborn for 2018, Alpine will once again return to making cars. Better yet, its first road car in more than two decades, the A110, lands in Australia this June. True to its roots, it’s once again gunning for its old German sparring partner, specifically the sublime Porsche 718 Cayman. Read on to find out why, against all odds, the new A110 is once again victorious.

Alpine’s first car since the mid-1990s, Porsche 911-rivalling A610 could have ended up as one giant cynical marketing exercise. We’re talking re-badged Clio or Megane RS.

5 Best Features of the Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro

Cloudfone recently launched their new line of Next Infinity smartphones and leading that pack is the Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro. If you’re contemplating on getting this phone, here are 5 reasons why you should.

Nice design and solid build

For its price, the Next Infinity Quattro feels solid and well-made. It has a metal body that is cool to the touch and rounded sides for an easy grip. The 2.5D Gorilla Glass on the top, on the other hand, curves nicely to the bezel. It’s a bit chunky and hefty but that is understandable considering that it’s carrying a large battery. Cloudfone even threw in a free jelly case and screen protector so you won’t have to worry about accidental bumps and scratches.

Acer Aspire 7 (A717-71G) review – Acer’s high-performance mid-ranger

Along with the Aspire 5 series release, Acer outed a more performance-focused version named Aspire 7 that runs on Intel’s quad-core Kaby Lake-H processors and sports a decent GTX 1050 GPU, which is enough for casual to moderate gaming. There are also few notable changes in the chassis compared to the Aspire 5 – brushed aluminum is the main material used making it feel a bit more robust and interestingly, the keyboard feels slightly altered as well.

Although it may seem like the Aspire 7 is made for gaming, judging by the specs sheet, the notebook isn’t marketed as gaming-oriented by the OEM nor does it feature the usual flashy appearance with red accents or a gaming-optimized keyboard. In any case, the Aspire 7 seems like a great choice if you are looking for an affordable 17-inch high-performance laptop that’s also able to drive most of the games in low to medium graphics settings. We would like, however, to see how it performs in other areas like battery endurance, screen quality and temperature handling.|

Apple Watch Series 4 investigation: Exploring the new Watch evidence

What to expect from the next generation smartwatch

You know it, we know it, the world knows it. In 2018, it’s pretty likely – sorry pretty much nailed on – we will see a new Apple Watch next year.

Tim Cook and company work like clockwork, so just like its smartphones there should be a new smartwatch on the way too. Whether it’s called the Apple Watch Series 4, Apple Watch 4 or something entirely different, we can start the guessing game now, but as sales of the Watch seem to be on the steady rise, the next iteration could be Apple’s most important yet.

Why? Because the new Watch could cement itself as the number one smartwatch (and watch brand) ahead of the likes of Samsung, Garmin, Fitbit and fashion brands like Fossil who are all getting in on the connected timepiece action as well.

Samsung Galaxy X foldable phone preview

UPDATE: A new look at the potential design, and hints of a 2018 debut

Flip phones ruled the mobile world until smartphones took over with their touchscreen slabs. However, we might soon be folding our phones in half again – if Samsung has its way.

Foldable smartphones are coming, and as with curved screens – from the Galaxy Note Edge up to the Galaxy S8 and beyond – Samsung appears to be leading the charge. For a few years now, the company has been sharing concepts of foldable and rollable smartphones, and a flurry of patent applications and rumours suggest the first models are coming very soon.

Samsung intends to make fully functional smartphones with flexible displays that allow you to fold the phone shut and tuck it in your pocket – and maybe even phones that open up to reveal a full-sized tablet screen within, or touchscreen devices that roll out of a tube.

Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Review

*** Note : £1 = $1.34 (correct at time of post)

When Sony’s full-frame Alpha 7 mirrorless cameras first appeared a little over four years ago, there were legitimate concerns about the limited lens range available, and how quickly Sony might be able to build up a comprehensive system. But over the past few years the firm has accelerated the release of new optics, such that there are now 23 FE lenses in its line-up (not counting the specialist FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS video lens). This means that most of the key types are now available.

For standard zooms, though, photographers have been missing one thing: a premium option with a maximum focal length longer than 70mm. Instead it’s been a choice between the relatively compact and affordable FE 24-70mm F4 ZA OSS for £880, or the stellar but huge and costly FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM (£1900). If you want a longer zoom range, the only option has been the £749 FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS, which like most extended-range superzooms is somewhat compromised optically.

2018 BMW i8 Coupe revealed for Detroit : i8 Roadster First Edition detailed

The updated 2018 BMW i8 Coupe has been officially revealed this week, ahead of the 2018 Detroit motor show.

Largely mirroring the specification of the i8 Roadster, the Coupe gets a larger 11.6kWh battery (up from 7.1kWh), and a more powerful 105kW electric motor (up 9kW).

Zero-emissions driving range is rated at 55km, with top speed in electric mode claimed at 120km/h.

Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine is unchanged, developing 170kW of power and 320Nm of torque, for a combined power output of 275kW.

BMW claims the coupe can sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds, on its way to a limited top speed of 250km/h.

Differing from the Roadster, obviously, is the hard top roof, along with the ‘Coupe’ badging on the C-pillars.

Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ vs iPhone X vs Pixel 2 XL and the best of the rest: preliminary size comparison

The official reveal of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ is still a ways off, with conflicting reports as to whether the two flagships will be showcased at CES next year or further down the line. But even if our first real glimpse of Samsung’s 2018 S-series lineup is still a good couple of months away, we already have a lot of interesting tidbits about the upcoming phones, including some renders and even dimensions that are based off of leaked factory CAD drawings.

But even before the recent Galaxy S9 leaks, we got our hands on some information regarding Samsung’s midrange A-series, which was enough to get us thinking that some of the design changes that we saw in the leaked images may very well be indicative of what’s to come for the Galaxy S9 and S9+. So we decided to create some snazzy concepts for the occasion, and wouldn’t you know it, they turned out pretty close to the recent leaks. With that said, however, keep in mid that we are still far away from an official announcement, so things could change.

2018 Nissan Leaf: The technology inside

The 2018 Nissan Leaf has been unveiled, and it now comes with a number of key improvements. First and foremost is the range of driving per charge cycle, which has now been upgraded to 150 miles (242km approx.) in US driving conditions. This brings the Leaf, presently the most popular electric vehicle ever in terms of sales figures, up to a more functional driving range. The previous generation 2017 Nissan Leaf boasted mileage of 107 miles (173km approx.), which was significantly lower than what its competition offered.

The 2018 Nissan Leaf now includes a 6.6kW charging system that can fully charge the car in 7.5 hours. Power delivery has also been increased, with the Leaf now producing 147bhp. Nissan is also working on a Leaf variant with over 200 miles (364km approx.) in range, but that will not hit the market right away, as development of viable, affordable and high capacity batteries take some time. The new Leaf is also quite well equipped, with elements like one-pedal driving, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assistance and more being a part of the Leaf.

10.Or D First Impressions: Gets the basics right, fails to dazzle

2017 will go down as the year when the seller became the maker. Both Amazon and Flipkart, two of India’s largest e-commerce platforms started manufacturing the products they have made a name for, by selling. Smartphones are the highest selling products online and both companies wanted a slice of that pie. Flipkart did it with the Billion Capture+ and Amazon has the 10\.Or label, under which the company launched the 10.Or D, an entry level Android smartphone.

Amazon claims the phone transcends the budget category and wants it to be considered as a value-for-money product. It’s reason? Amazon has amassed customer data to gain insights into what people want in their phones, and under its “Crafted for Amazon” program, the company claims to have translated these insights into features in the 10.Or phones.

The 10.Or D is the third device under the program. At first glance, it will look like any other entry-level phone. And to be honest, it is like any other entry-level phone.

First Look: Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 and AMG GLA 45

Mercedes-Benz has launched two more cars in its performance-driven AMG lineup. This marks the 6th and 7th Mercedes-AMG cars in India in 2017 alone, after the likes of the AMG GT-R and the GLC 43 coupe. The two new AMG cars include the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC sedan, and the GLA 45 4MATIC SUV. Both are powered by the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder gasoline engine that Mercedes was quick to point out is the most powerful 2.0-litre series production engine in the world. To combine with that, both the new AMG cars are also equipped with identical and fairly comprehensive technology packages.
