iFrogz Impulse Duo review

ifrogz-impulse-duo-002

iFrogz has carved out its niche in the headphone market by making relatively inexpensive headphones that perform as well or better than other cheap headphones. At $45, the Impulse Duo Wireless is toward the high-end of its in-ear Bluetooth headphone line and features dual 6mm drivers in a lightweight design that’s comfortable to wear. (UK and Australia availability are unclear, but the US price translates to about £35 and AU$59, respectively.)

Like iFrogz’ earlier wireless in-ears, this model is built around the company’s signature wireless hub, which features a magnetic clasp and houses the battery, microphone, all the electronics and all the controls.

The clip serves a dual purpose. Not only does it allow you to attach the remote to your shirt but it keeps the cord wrapped around the remote when you’re not using the headphones.

2018 Honda Civic Type R First Drive: It was worth the wait

Bravo Honda, bravo. The 2018 Civic Type R is the company’s most powerful car ever to be sold stateside. Indeed, Honda’s people are unofficially referring to it as the fastest front-wheel drive “road legal racecar” on the road. In short, no, the “R” in the name plate isn’t just for show.

It starts out with the 10th-generation Civic, but while it may be the fifth iteration of the car to wear the Type R badge, it’s the first to make it – officially, at least – to US shores. That alone was enough to build the pre-release hype. That you’re getting so much tech packed into this little gem for only $33,900 arguably seals the deal. Still, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

It’s got no shortage of attitude, but then again there’s no lack of power to back that up. As wild as it looks, the engine is no laughing matter.

A highly tuned, direct-injected 2-liter turbocharged inline 4, with an output of 306 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque, maximum power comes in at 2,500 and sticks around until you hit 4,500 rpm.

IFI AUDIO MICRO IDAC2 Review: Smooth and easy.

No piece of audio equipment is more contentious than the humble DAC. It can cause some pretty major arguments. On one side, you’ve got people saying that it’s a crucial part of the audio chain, and relying on the built-in circuitry of your phone or laptop to convert digital signal to analog sound is ridiculous. On the other, you have those who are firm in their belief that the difference a dedicated DAC makes is so minor, so ethereal, that you’re better off spending your money on the headphones, or the amp, or possibly (as some high-level DACs cost thousands of dollars) on a ticket to Las Vegas. iFi Audio’s Micro iDAC2 isn’t going to help either side work out their differences with the other – but in our opinion, it’s a DAC worth considering. Here’s why.

The iDAC2 is compact and (mostly) well-designed | The Master Switch

The iDAC2 is compact and (mostly) well-designed

Design:

Here’s the unfortunate problem with iFi’s Micro range: once you’ve seen one, you quite literally seen them all. For while the controls and inputs and outputs may vary, in shape and structure they are absolutely identical.

Mini Cooper S v CRG Gemstar go-kart

Believe it or not, a lot of what we do here at CarAdvice is our darnedest to provide you, our loyal readers, with the best high-quality car advice we can. Asus L402SA Review

Ultra-affordable notebooks such as the $229 Asus L402SA always feel like a gamble. But this is one you might want to take, because the 14-inch notebook offers a comfy keyboard, a screen that’s more colorful than those on low-cost competitors and strong audio, all in a lightweight design. You also get a choice of three colors. The Celeron processor in this puppy pretty much rules out vigorous multitasking, and the battery life is below average. But overall, the L402SA is a pretty good bargain.

Design

Cheap laptops don’t need to feel disposable. Check out the L402SA’s sturdy hinge, as well as its deck, which doesn’t flex the way many others do. It comes in white (don’t, just don’t), dark blue (which looks black) and red (the one to get).

Motorola Moto C Unboxing, Quick Review: Most Affordable Moto Yet

We unbox the Moto C!

Last year Lenovo’s strategy with the brand they acquired from Google, Motorola, was pretty straightforward – Moto phones are supposed to be aimed at the mid-range and high-end segment of the market (with a few outliers here and there) while their main brand will be focused on entry-level to mid-range phones.

Imagine our surprise when a bunch of affordable Motorola phones materialized out of nowhere. While we’re happy that we’re seeing more Moto-branded phones in the market, their sudden apperance may signal a shift in how Lenovo uses the Moto brand moving forward to compete with their domestic rivals.

Kronaby watch review : A hybrid smartwatch that’s not just a pretty face

The Kronaby successfully marries beautiful watch design with smartwatch features you’ll actually want to use. Yes, it’s very, very pricey, but in return you do get a watch that looks the part and discreetly adds in those smarts. It’s also bringing new ideas to the table and proving that there’s more to hybrids than notifications and fitness tracking. It’s definitely not perfect and there’s room for improvement, but overall this is one hybrid smartwatch we’ve really enjoyed living with and should be food for thought when Fossil, Movado and the rest approach making a hybrid smartwatch.

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Kronaby watch

Kronaby is a hybrid smartwatch collection that promises to marry traditional watch design with some familiar connected features as well as a few new ones we’ve not seen crop up on a hybrid before.

The core of the team at the Swedish startup cut their teeth at Sony Mobile. They helped design and develop accessories for the Japanese tech giant including the Sony SmartWatch and Smartband fitness tracker. So they know a thing or two about building wearables.

Surface Laptop (2017) vs Dell XPS 13: Face-Off!

The Microsoft Surface Laptop is the cool, new 13-inch laptop that’s garnering rave reviews, but how does it stack up  to Dell’s excellent XPS 13?

Microsoft’s ultraportable offers a sleek design with Alcantara fabric, a brilliant touch display and solid performance. But the XPS 13 has long been our top overall laptop for a reason, featuring a stunning Infinity Display of its own along with a plethora of ports and your choice of non-touch and touchscreen. So which one is right for you?

surface laptop v xps13 mf

Design

The XPS 13 is a well-designed machine, thanks to its practically bezel-free screen and optional rose gold ($50-extra) aluminum shell. We also like its soft-touch carbon fiber deck.

However, the Surface Laptop’s deck feels even better. It’s covered in Alcantara, a suede-like microfibre. Plus, the Surface Laptop comes in more (four) colors: Platinum Silver, Graphite Gold, Cobalt Blue and Burgundy Red (our favorite), though only the $1,299 model comes with all of those options.

2017 MV Agusta RVS#1 Review

Till what limit can the art on two wheels be extended to? Ask MV Agusta. Having made some of the most exotic Italian masterpieces on two wheels, MV has a tremendous history in terms of making some of the most beautiful looking motorcycles on the planet. And thankfully their lust is still going strong.

Some time back, MV Agusta created a special division called the Reparto Veicoli Speciali, or Special Vehicles Department, and handed them the task of creating the best MV Agusta machines that beam in terms of quality, research, performance and emotions. This division was joined by the San Marino Research Center Castiglioni (originally born as CRC, Cagiva Research Center) to work on the brand’s Brutale Dragster 800 RRand come out with an evil looking motorcycle that will scare the daylights out of anything on the road.

Hands on: Vodafone Smart N8 review

Vodafone has consistently found itself ranking well in our best cheap phone guide, as the network is making solidly good products for those looking for a low-end phone.

The price for the Smart N8 is low, but Vodafone has managed to squeeze in a few newer features here than you might have expected and make it into a real contender for the best cheap phone in the UK.

Watching films, videos and TV seems to be a big focus for this phone and it is one of the cheapest fingerprint sensor-packing handsets on the market, as it comes in at under £100/$150.

2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country review

Hitting the gas from a stop, the 2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country’s authoritative acceleration surprises and impresses me, because I know only four cylinders propel this big, heavy wagon. But attempting a freeway pass while at speed, the drivetrain takes a moment to give the boost I need.

The large, portrait-format touchscreen in the center of the dash looks good, and makes navigation input easy with one-box search, but it takes me far too long to figure out how to change audio sources. Hint: Swipe left.

At over 16 feet, the V90 Cross Country measures a little too long for easy urban parking. However, its automated parallel parking nestles me right up to the curb, without a single bumper kiss front or back.

New Audi A5 Coupe vs new Mercedes E-Class Coupe

Mercedes’ new E-Class Coupé gives you a lot of style and luxury for around £40k/$60k, but is a better choice than the more powerful Audi A5 that you can have for the same money?

With its S-Class-aping styling and spacious interior, the E-Class certainly has plenty of appeal.

So, summer is here, you’ve saved that Christmas bonus and you’re in the market for an upmarket coupé. Effortless performance, a luxurious interior and room for one passenger (or occasionally three) plus luggage are crucial requirements. But just because you’re opting for a coupé, that doesn’t mean you’re prepared to put up with poor fuel economy.

Now, that might sound like a tall order, but we’ve lined up two cars that should be more than up to the task. Both are packed with state-of-the-art infotainment gadgets, offer hot hatch levels of straight-line performance and are capable of at least 60mpg. Oh, and they both cost about £40,000/$60,000.

Sigma AF 100-400mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens Review

Sigma 100 400mm Front Oblique View

For some applications, such as bird, wildlife and sports photography, a long lens is a must. Most ranges include economical choices up to 300mm, but really something longer is often needed. Increasing the focal length to 400mm results in much higher cost and larger, heavier lenses. However, Sigma has now introduced this 100-400mm Contemporary zoom lens that is reasonably priced, fairly compact for a 400mm and promises a high level of performance. Coupled with the Canon EOS 5DS R for this review, let’s investigate further.

Handling and Features

This is not the first time that compact versions of longer lenses have appeared, as 400mm f/5.6 lenses have been offered in past that have also meant lower cost, smaller and lighter optics. This can be no bad thing as some lenses can be very heavy indeed and wearisome to carry. Having said that, the new Sigma lens still weighs in at a hefty 1160g. Perhaps surprisingly, there is no tripod mount on the lens and although this presented no problems on test, it is about as far as might be sensible to go relying on the camera’s own tripod mount.

Best Noise Canceling Headphones of 2017: Kill that noise

Noise cancelation has existed as a theory of physics long before it could be put into practice, and even when it eventually did, it was reserved only for audio labs, recording studios and the military. Nowadays, this technique has become a highly sought-after audio enhancement feature with a high level of status for music lovers fighting ambient noise: airplane engine noise, subway train rumble, city crowd chatter or any other sonic distraction (or destruction) of the ‘soundtrack’ of our everyday life.

How We Choose:

To help you join the anti-noise revolution, we decided to sift through the very best of noise-canceling headphones currently available. When putting this list together, we’ve left noise-canceling earbuds or noise-insulation cans out as we address them elsewhere. The majority of our picks happen to be of the larger over-ear headphones variety, though you will find a couple of on-ear examples too, and we do explain the differences between these types and their specific features, pros and cons in our Buying Advice section below.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2017 Review Roundup: What Critics Think

The Surface Laptop is a notebook that’s bound to turns heads. Starting at $999, this 2.7-pound system sports a soft-touch Alcantara fabric deck, and it comes in four sleek colors.

microsoft-surface-004It also includes a vibrant 13.5-inch touchscreen, a 7th generation Core i5 or i7 processor and the very streamlined Windows 10 S operating system.

Overall, critics are quite positive on the Surface Laptop, but there are also some drawbacks. Here’s a quick summary of our review, plus other reviews from around the web.

When you look at the landscape of ultraportable laptops, there’s a race to be the thinnest on the block, but we’re starting to see diminishing returns as a result of that quest. The Surface Laptop stands out with a design that dares to be different, and it pays off.

Surface Pro Review 2017

The Surface Pro Review we have here passes judgement on the Surface Pro released in June of 2017, as first outlined earlier this year. With the newest version of the Surface Pro, Microsoft made an equivalent to the iMac G4 by combining two important elements. The Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) is both enjoyable to use in a unique way, and it’s reliable. The unique/enjoyable factor comes from the keyboard attachment – the one that doesn’t come standard with the Surface itself.

The New Keys

The iMac G4 was a computer that tossed desktop computer conventions in the trash in favor of a desktop computer that was a treat to use. Microsoft suggests that the surface of the keyboard for the Surface is meant to give the user a warm, friendly feeling when they type and use the device’s touchpad. So far, in the week-or-so I’ve had the device, the keyboard does, indeed, create a warm, friendly place for my wrists to rest whenever I’m not actively typing.

HTC One A9s Hands-on Review : First Impressions

The HTC One A9s was first announced in September 2016 which is an upgrade to last year’s One A9. It features a 5-inch HD display, MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 3GB RAM, and Android Marshmallow. It’s a fairly old device if you’re looking at it now but will still be available soon in the Philippines, perhaps as its most affordable offering. Check out our initial thoughts about the device below.

The HTC One A9s is not exactly on par with the U-series smartphones that will also arrive in the country. Its design is more generic but not ugly either. It’s small which can be attributed to the 5-inch Super LCD HD display bordered by relatively thick bezels. Found above it are the earpiece and the 5MP front camera. Mounted above it is an unspecified Corning Gorilla Glass.

Surface Laptop vs MacBook Air: It’s Not Even Close

If you’re looking for a good ultraportable laptop, Apple and Microsoft both have appealing options in the Surface Laptop and MacBook Air. Both laptops weigh well under 3 pounds and start at around $999.

air vs surface laptop mf

So, should you choose the tried-and-true MacBook Air, which recently got a minor spec bump, or Microsoft’s brand-new sexy Surface Laptop? We’ve compared them to help you decide.

With its colorful designs and soft-touch Alcantara deck, the Surface Laptop is a strong contender for the best-designed ultraportable notebook. We all felt the same way about the MacBook Air when the company introduced it in 2008, but the model today looks practically the same as the ones that came before.

Apple iMac 27-Inch with 5K Display Review (2017): Serious Power

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Apple iMac 27-Inch with 5K Display 2017

The iMac has been a key part of Apple’s computer family for years, and with good reason. The premium all-in-one has redefined the desktop PC several times over the years and offers a blend of performance and visual capability that is undeniably impressive. After a couple of years with only mediocre updates, the 2017 update to the 27-inch iMac with 5K Retina display (from $1,799; $2,899 as tested) moves the Mac family forward with smart improvements, including a brighter display, versatile Thunderbolt 3 ports, and updated processing and graphics performance that blows past the competition. It’s an improvement in every way that matters.

Design

The iMac design has stayed relatively unchanged since the slim version was introduced back in 2012. With the 2017 update, you get the familiar minimalist design, with a 27-inch display surrounded by black bezels and covered in edge-to-edge glass. Below the display is the bare-metal chin bearing the Apple logo, and a sturdy L-shaped stand raises the whole thing a few inches off of the desk. The hinged stand gives you a reasonable amount of tilt adjustment, but there’s still no good way to adjust the height, other than stacking the iMac on some books.

Onda Xiaoma 31 review

gegCVDL4BadB8NXPsxWAq5-650-80

The success of the MacBook Air range has spawned more copycats than we care to recall. To swiftly name a few, the Yepo 737S, Jumper EZBook 2 and to a lesser extent the Xiaomi Air 12 have all attempted to replicate and improve on Apple’s design, with mixed results.

And this particular offering is another device that uses the MacBook Air as a source of inspiration, going further than others by offering a champagne gold model as standard. Meet the Onda Xiaoma 31, a 13-inch ultrathin laptop (and no, it is not an Ultrabook).

Online Chinese retailer, Gearbest, sent us a review sample and sells the Xiaoma 31 for a not-so-insignificant £347 (around $445, AU$580). Note that while this price includes delivery, it is exclusive of any taxes that may be levied by HMRC or the courier companies on behalf of the vendor. Want to buy tech from online Chinese retailers? Qobuz Sublime+ review

Qobuz, the French streaming-and-download service, has a new top tier called Sublime+. And it’s safe to say the company is bullish about it, calling it “the best music subscription in the world”.

Although we’ve expressed reservations about its interface, about the depth and breadth of its catalogue, and about its price, we’ve been fundamentally positive about Qobuz since it became an international brand in 2013. And this despite its well-documented tribulations.

Our positivity peaked towards the end of 2016, when we reviewed Sublime, Qobuz’s hybrid streaming-and-download tier. Combining CD-quality (16-bit/44.1kHz) streaming with hefty discounts on hi-res (24-bit/44.1kHz – 24-bit/192kHz) downloads (which could be streamed natively once downloaded), it made off with the full five stars.

Since then, rival Tidal has upped the hi-res streaming ante with its Masters tier, which utilises MQA technology to stream an extensive catalogue in better-than-CD quality.
