Suunto Spartan Ultra Review : A pricey go-anywhere GPS watch

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Suunto Spartan Ultra

The Suunto Spartan Ultra ($849) is the latest entry into the market of high-end watches for serious athletes. The Spartan Ultra comes with a powerful battery and a big display, and it manages to be both comfortable and durable, even when you’re swimming or diving. However, the watch is missing a number of features that you’ll find on less expensive rivals, including the Polar M600 and Garmin fenix 3.

Design

The Spartan Ultra is a big watch — 1.97 inches in diameter, 0.67 inches thick and 2.58 ounces in weight. It’s heavier than the Polar M600 (2.3 ounces) but lighter than the Garmin fenix 3 (3 ounces). However, the Spartan’s 320 x 300-pixel display is larger than those on both rival watches.

Coach HP Smartwatch Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Coach HP Smartwatch Review

Whether you find most smartwatches on the market too sporty, bulky, or just not your style, or if you’re nostalgic for a more traditional look, the $295 Coach Bleecker Smart Watch is a classy choice. This analog watch has some basic activity tracking, plus a small OLED display that provides some smartphone notifications. It’s not exactly feature-packed. though, so the name may be most of what you’re paying for here.

Design

At first glance, the Coach Bleecker smartwatch looks like a refined and minimalist analog watch. It has a large 1.73-inch case with black ionized plating, titanium accents and thin white lines along the hour and minute hands that help them jump out at a glance.

On the lower half of the watch face is a small OLED screen, which isn’t visible until you press either of the buttons that are above and below the watch’s crown.

Small SUV Mega Test : CarAdvice readers join us at MotorWorld to test 11 small SUVs

At the recent MotorWorld Sydney event at Sydney Motorsport Park, we assembled 11 small SUVs under $50,000 with the aim of comparing not only the cars, but the thoughts of the CarAdvice testing team with the thoughts of you – our readers – and other members of the public.

We wanted to report on what we thought of these compact crossover models, and compare that with what the car-buying public – most of whom were CarAdvice readers – made of them.

The vehicles were a bit of a mixed bag, with everything from the basic and tiny Citroen C4 Cactus to a base model version of the BMW X1. There were mainstream players like the Nissan Qashqai, Mitsubishi ASX, Suzuki Vitara, Honda HR-V and Subaru XV. And we had a couple of less-purchased models like the facelifted Suzuki S-Cross, cutesy Fiat 500X and chunky Jeep Renegade, and a newcomer to the segment, the premium Infiniti QX30.

Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200 (R8000) Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200 (R8000) Review

Editor’s Note: As of Dec. 12, 2016, several Netgear routers, including the Nighthawk X6 AC3200, have been shown to have serious security flaws. We recommend not using the Nighthawk X6 AC3200until the issue has been resolved. Please click here for more information.

If you thought three or four antennas would help boost 802.11ac wireless networking performance, Netgear’s Nighthawk X6 AC3200 router has six and makes the most of them with excellent range. At $300, this is one of the most expensive routers on the market, but worth it if you want wireless data everywhere.

Design

Also known as the R8000, Netgear’s all-black router’s design is sharply angular with a geometrically patterned grille that makes it look like a spaceship. At 11.5 x 8.8 x 2.2 inches, the R8000 is one of the biggest Wi-Fi routers around, and unlike many of its peers, it needs to be set up horizontally or screwed into a wall.

2017 Zero Motorcycles FX / FXS Review

The EV sector is booming, and as it’s grown it has expanded into more and more genres. Zero Motorcycles is all about the electrics, and has pushed beyond the straight-up street and adventure categories into dual-sport and supermoto territory. The capable FX enters the ’17 MY alongside its urban-jungle sibling, the FXS, for a dynamic duo of EV fun with more torque and more horsepower than previous model years, plus other upgrades to the drivetrain to include a wider final-drive belt and improvements to the power packs.

Electric bikes are still a new technology, and as such is struggling to find mainstream acceptance. By moving into numerous categories on a proven drive and power-storage system, Zero is expanding its footprint while progressing the electrics market to the benefit of all. No other EV manufacturer has such a diverse lineup, and I always love checking out green tech, so without further ado I’m going to take an in-depth look at this pair of electric crusaders.

Ehang Ghostdrone 2.0 VR review: The drone with first-person view VR goggles

There are a few smartphone-controlled drones out there, but the Ehang Ghostdrone 2.0 VR is unusual because it comes with a set of goggles to pump the drone’s view to your eyeballs whilst it’s in flight. The goggles also control the drone’s camera on its gimbal while it’s in the air, so you can get a good view of your in-the-air surroundings.

Sounds like a rollercoaster ride of fun, doesn’t it? But how does the Ghostdrone fair against the strong competition out there from DJI, Parrot and the like?

2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class review

2

After a month spent flying back and forth to Los Angeles, my boarding passes a confused jumble in my Apple Wallet app, I finally broke free enough time to drive down from San Francisco. The occasion was the Los Angeles auto show, and my ride would be a 2017 Mercedes-Benz S550 Cabriolet.

Cruising down a California highway, over valleys, mountains and coastal terrain, compared to stuffing myself into an airline seat, shoulder-to-shoulder with some rando? I will take the former any chance I can.

And the S550 Cabriolet made the perfect vehicle for the trip, as it fit right in cruising top-down through Beverly Hills, or drifting over hundreds of freeway miles. Massaging seats eased the strain on my back, the Burmester stereo filled the quiet cabin with pristinely produced music, and adaptive cruise control handled the trials of stop-and-go traffic.

Adata XPG SX8000 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD review

The Adata XPG SX8000 512GB is an SSD that uses the faster PCIe NVMe interface and M.2 form factor that puts regular SSDs that rely on the older and slower SATA 3 connection in a PC’s motherboard to shame.

Along with SSDs such as the Samsung NVMe SSD 960 Pro M.2 and the Toshiba OCZ RD400 512GB SSD that utilise this newer interface, the Adata SX8000 is not held back by SATA 3, which often bottlenecks performance on regular SSDs.

That’s why we’re seeing many SATA 3 SSDs usually benchmark around the 530MB/s read and 520MB/s write sequential speeds – whereas M.2 drives can hit much faster speeds, with Adata promising incredibly impressive rates of 2400MB/s read and 1000MB/s write.

2017 Honda CB1100 EX Review

Honda brings its classic CB 1100 EX back to US shores for the 2017 model year, and with it comes a healthy dose of nostalgia. Retro is king right now, and the “EX” shows that it ain’t all about small- to mid-displacement scramblers and cafe’ racers , there’s still room for classic ’70s UJM replicas. The EX combines the look of that era with modern features and performance courtesy of the 1,140 cc, air-cooled mill, and it’s a combination that has worked ever since this bike was introduced to the U.S. back in ’13. Today I’m going to take a look at what’s new, what’s different and what’s up with the latest EX.

Design

The Universal Japanese Motorcycle is the name for a particular type of bike that was popular in the ’70s when the Japanese threat was starting to emerge with “standard cruisers” running mid-to-large displacement engines flooding the market.

Aorus X5 v6 review

If you’re on the hunt for a gaming laptop with cutting-edge graphics that can be slipped into a backpack with room to spare, Aorus usually has you covered.

The sixth iteration of the company’s X5 continues tradition by upgrading to Nvidia’s latest GPU architecture under the hood without fattening up the chassis around it.

Some competing gaming laptops with Nvidia’s new Pascal-based GTX 10-series cards can’t lay claim to that.

The 15.6-inch X5 bears a closer similarity with the Aorus X5S, which came powered by a GTX 980M, than the preceding X5 that housed twin GTX 965M GPUs.

Driven by Nvidia’s new GTX 1070, the X5 v6 brings desktop-like levels of graphics grunt in a single GPU, leaving little need for Aorus to return to an SLI configuration.

If you’re interested in such a gaming goliath, then models including the XMG U727, the Razer Blade Pro and the decidedly less sensible Acer Predator 21 Xare three options wielding dual GPUs.

Yamaha CRX-N470D review

If, as a child, you bolted toward the Woolworths pick ’n’ mix with any other mentality than that of cramming at least one of everything into a paper bag, you were doing it entirely wrong.

However, there are still alternative means to satiate that innate human desire for variety and abundance.

One such offering takes the shape of Yamaha’s CRX-N470D, a mini hi-fi system with more features than a Dr Dre album.

Build and features

There’s a healthy abundance of the more traditional – a CD player and FM and DAB digital radio, as well as USB, RCA and 3.5mm analogue inputs – washed down with Bluetooth, AirPlay, wi-fi and DLNA, internet radio, Spotify Connect and Qobuz for all your wireless needs and wants.

Bluboo Edge vs. Elephone S7 Dual Curved Phone Review

Previously, we have introduced the top 3 dual curved smartphone to become the killer of Xiaomi MI Note 2, it includes Bluboo Edge and Elephone S7 2GB version, so they are the best competitor for each other in its design, hardware, camera, battery, features, even price. When you face this two smartphones, which one will you choose?

Design

Elephone S7 has 5.5 inch FHD JDI Full-lamination incell screen which is thinner and brighter than other common screen, you can enjoy nice visual effect and quick response on its screen, and 5.5 inch screen is not very large to hold it in hands very comfortably. However, Bluboo Edge also has 5.5 inch screen but HD screen with 0.8mm  thickness frame, it has creative dual curved design which is very exquisite and elegant, and it adopts advanced nano molding craftsmanship, double layer five-point touch panel. Therefore, they are even in design.

2017 Audi TT 2.0 TDI Quattro Review

The Audi TT entered its third generation for 2016 and is built upon Volkswagen’s MQB platform. At Launch it was available with the choice of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that delivered 230 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, or 310 horsepower and 280 pound-feet in TTSform. There was also a 2.0-liter TDI with 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet but, unlike the TFSI unit that could be equipped with Quattro all-wheel- drive, the TDI was only available in front-wheel drive. In terms of design, the third-gen model changed very little and looked quite similar to the second-gen model it replaced. It did get the updated Audi grille design to go with a restyled side profile and mildly redesign fascias. On the inside, the biggest news was the addition of Audi’s virtual cockpit as standard equipment, but aside from a few nips and tucks, that was it.

2015 – 2017 Honda XR650L Review

Honda carries its venerable XR 650L line into 2017, but to be honest, it’s almost completely unchanged from the original version unleashed on the world back in 1993. Before you scoff, I would point out that sharks haven’t changed in millions of years, having evolved long ago into creatures perfectly suited to their environments, and apparently, so it is with the XR650L. The Red Riders got it right out of the gate with this one, and popular support keeps the bike on Honda’s showroom floors even after nearly a quarter-century. I want to see what Honda has going on over there that gives this bike such longevity.

Design

The terms “adventure bike” and “ dual sport” get thrown around a lot, and while some of the categorizations are a little ambiguous and the edges a little blurry, there is no question that this bike prefers the brown over the black. Sure, we have proper lighting to include turn signal, headlight and taillight, but much like its predecessor the enduro, everything else from the suspension to the body panels and the tires screams “off-road”

HP Stream 14 Review

maxresdefault

A low price on a laptop can make up for a lot of shortcomings. That is, as long as those shortcomings don’t interfere with you getting stuff done.

The 14-inch HP Stream, for example, is only $220 in the US and £200 in the UK and as long as your needs don’t leap too far beyond watching YouTube clips, sending email and using web apps, you’re golden. (HP doesn’t offer the Stream in a 14-inch size in Australia, but there is the HP 14-am034tu for AU$500, which is similarly configured, but with a 500GB hard drive instead of a 32GB eMMC.)

Bose SoundLink Color II review

soundlink-color-ii-01

I was a fan of Bose’s original SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker and praised it for being relatively affordable — by Bose standards anyway — and sounding good for its compact size. Its mostly improved sequel, the SoundLink Color II, also comes in a few different color options and is similar in shape, though it’s slightly shorter and squatter, and weighs a tad more (1.28 pounds. or 581g vs. 1.20 pounds or 544g) while costing the same price: $130, £120 in the UK, and AU$179 in Australia.

While the original’s finish was mostly smooth, hard plastic with some rubberized trim on top of the speaker and sides, this new model is entirely covered in soft-t0-the-touch rubber, which has a little give to it and seems better designed to withstand drops. The new speaker is officially water-resistant, too: ItsIPX-4 certification makes it splashproof, though not waterproof. Or to put it another way, it should be able to spend some time out in the rain and survive.

2017 Subaru BRZ Review

The Subaru BRZ has been around since 2013 and has soldiered on unchanged. That is, until the 2017 model year updates have taken hold, bringing a slightly revised face, a new gauge cluster, some minor suspension tuning, and some major engine work that brings, sadly, imperceptible changes. Still, the BRZ makes a solid case for itself as a great driver’s car.

I recently spent a week with the updated 2017 BRZ, driving like I would any normal daily driver. Trips to the grocery store, to church, to the mall, and hauling the wife and kiddo to the in-law’s house all took place. Using the BRZ in this manner revealed some telling negative attributes. Its cabin is loud and cramped, its trunk is small, and the cabin is hard to get out of. However, one trip around a curvy road in the cool of the night with the windows down uncovers the true purpose of this car – to drive. All the negativity falls away revealing a fun, easy-to-handle, machine built to put a smile on your face. Best of all, the BRZ is inexpensive. That character hasn’t changed despite the wide array of changes for 2017.

4 reasons Windows 10 on Snapdragon should excite you

The gulf between Apple and Microsoft’s strategies for desktop and mobile continues to spread. On the one hand, Apple has iOS on its own ARM-based mobile chips, and macOS on Intel x86 processors. Taking the complete opposite approach, Microsoft is forging ahead with the same Windows 10 across both ecosystems. While there’s no single “right answer” there are plenty of reasons why Microsoft’s announcement with Qualcomm that full Windows 10 is coming to Snapdragon should get you excited.

4 reasons Windows 10 on Snapdragon should excite you

Forget Windows RT

If you’re anything like us, as soon as you hear “Windows on ARM” you’ve probably got ominous thoughts of Microsoft’s original Surface and the dire Windows RT. It’s fair to say Microsoft’s first attempt at putting its desktop OS on more frugal, ARM-based chips was a failure, though that’s more about the delivery than the concept itself. Windows RT simply proved too limiting in terms of third-party app compatibility to make sense.

2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R First Ride Review : The Beast that ate Qatar

As soon as you begin mentally mapping the featureless layout of the Losail International Circuit, it gets dark, the floodlights come on and the track layout changes in a surreal manner. A desert haze drifts through the infield, and in addition to remembering if the approaching corner is the slow left one or the fast left one, you’re also now looking through faceshield glares and the occasional glimpse of you passing your own shadow. Steadfast among all these nocturnal distractions is the familiarity of the Super Duke R’s performance, its booming exhaust note, and that deliciously torquey V-Twin.

The Beast 2.0 is the next-gen super-nasty naked from KTM – an upgraded version of what is arguably the most dominant naked streetfighter this side of an Aprilia Tuono. Messing around too much with a model already in possession of the class mantle is a way to either ensure continued dominance or to self-sabotage by delivering unpopular changes.

AudioControl Maestro M9 Surround Processor Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho AudioControl Maestro M9 Surround Processor Review

The dwindling audio processor market has been shrinking for quite some time now. More than a year ago, while I was wandering around CEDIA 2015, I stumbled on one enticing option that caught my eye from high-end audio purveyor AudioControl. There were a few reasons it piqued my interest. For one, AudioControl is based out of my backyard in the Pacific Northwest, so they’re something akin to my hometown brand. Their AV processor also supported the Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive audio formats, another critical selling point. But perhaps the biggest draw was their inclusion of another hot name in audio circles: Dirac. Dirac’s room correction scheme is well respected among audiophiles for its performance and adjustability, and I’d never had a chance to try it out. Finally, after some shop talk, lots of emails and a few months of waiting, the company was nice enough to send us a sample of their $8,900, Maestro M9 flagship.

2017 Lexus LC500 review

In the cut-throat world of automotive design, the ability to see a concept model through to production virtually unchanged is akin to the Holy Grail – something the all-new Lexus LC500 has just pulled off.

The LC500 was a celebrated showstopper at this year’s North American International Auto Show, but the sleek, low-slung coupe was based on Lexus’ LF-LC, a show car that was first unveiled in 2012 and seen as a window into the future of design at Japan’s foremost luxury carmaker.

The push for Lexus to create more exciting designs has come from none other than Akio Toyoda, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation, who had been openly critical of the brand for producing cars “which are well made but boring to drive”.
