Vizio SmartCast 55-inch P-Series Review : Excellent Picture, Excellent Price

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Vizio SmartCast 55-inch P-Series

In a market where one can spend several thousand dollars on a TV faster than you can say MasterCard, Vizio has tried to become the brand that offers more for a lot less. The perfect example of that philosophy is the 55-inch P-Series 4K Ultra HD TV, with forward-looking features and performance that are hard to beat at its $1,100 price.

The 4K P-Series supports the latest high-dynamic-range (HDR) format for boosting color and brightness, as well as delivering compatibility for the Dolby Vision version of the format. To further futureproof the set, Vizio uses Google Cast to support its smart-TV features, potentially offering more flexibility and support for a wider array of apps. Better still, the P-Series backs up it all up with excellent picture performance, thanks to an LCD panel with a full-array LED backlight with active dimming.

LG 55UH770V review

55uh770v-6

LG’s high-end LCD televisions for 2016 aren’t just UHD TVs; they’re ‘Super’ UHD TVs. As well as conjuring up visions of TVs flying around with red capes on, daring to call your TVs ‘super’ raises pretty high expectations of how they’re going to perform. Just as well, then, that the 55UH770V talks a pretty good talk where its specifications are concerned.

For starters, it carries a native 4K/UHD-resolution screen. It’s also designed to deliver enough brightness to handle the latest high dynamic range picture technology, and supports the expanded colour ranges you get with all current HDR sources.

Its edge LED backlight system is supported by local dimming, too, so that different amounts of light can be sent to different parts of the image – a usually essential requirement for a convincing HDR LCD image.

2016 LEXUS GS F REVIEW

Either by design or necessity, Lexus has chosen not to play by the same conventions as other automakers playing in the high end sports sedan segment right now. It’s a move that cuts both ways for the GS F, offering a well-balanced sport sedan experience that brings back elements of largely analog cars like the lauded E39-era BMW M5, but also falling short of current expectations in terms of sheer performance prowess as a result.

While the GS F is essentially a four-door version of the RC F performance coupe introduced in 2014, it improves upon the coupe in many ways that aren’t inherently obvious on paper. And although the GS F isn’t likely to start racking up production car lap records any time soon, Lexus wisely chose not to lose sight of the brand’s luxury roots, one of the company’s strongest virtues.

Garmin Fenix 3 HR review

This is what GPS watches are all about: tough, long lasting, accurate and full of sensors. It now looks good enough to wear day to day, works as an activity tracker for 24/7 use plus offers enough notifications that can be read to actually be useful as a smartwatch. It falls down on small things like being slightly too heavy and large for some and having an app that tries to offer too much at the cost of over-complication. Nothing that’ll hinder its main purpose of tracking sports then, but since Garmin is clearly aiming at making this a day-to-day watch too, that size issue needs to be taken into account – especially when Apple is now nipping at Garmin’s heels. All in all this is an excellent GPS watch, a capable smartwatch alternative with worry-free battery and good looks. The addition of heart rate makes for deeper data analysis and use that helps futureproof the Fenix too.

Optoma NuForce uDAC5 USB DSD DAC review : This little box reveals all

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Optoma NuForce uDAC5 USB DSD DAC

When we listen to music, there’s more often than not a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) in the signal path between the source, the amplifier, and the loudspeakers or headphones that ultimately deliver the sound to our ears. Those two components can make or break your audio experience.

When your source playback device is a computer, the quality of the DAC you’re using becomes even more important. Computers are great at lots of things, but audio reproduction isn’t their forte and computer manufacturers don’t invest significant sums into the computer’s DAC or headphone amplifier; most don’t even pay much attention to isolating the computer’s audio components from the electrically noisy environment inside the computer’s case. Installing a high-end sound card in a desktop machine is one option, but you can’t do that with a laptop. That’s where Optoma’s NuForce uDAC5 comes in.

SpotCam HD Eva review : The security features are good, but the app isn’t

If you can overlook a few shortcomings in execution, Spotcam HD Eva offers solid security for the price.

SpotCam is a relatively recent entrant in the DIY security sweepstakes, offering a trio of HD (720p) indoor and outdoor cameras. The $160 SpotCam HD Eva looks to muscle in—perhaps literally, given its bulky body—on the crowded Dropcam/Nestcam space with attractive features such as 24-hour continuous recording and motorized pan/tilt. A few peccadilloes, however, keep it from the top tier.

Kết quả hình ảnh cho SpotCam HD Eva

You can forget about hiding the SpotCam HD Eva in plain sight—there’s nothing inconspicuous about this camera; it’s easily the bulkiest we’ve reviewed so far. The head unit is bigger than a tennis ball—which is typically the largest comparative size we see on DIY security cams—and the base is nearly as big. In fact, it almost looks as if they stacked two of the same cone-shaped modules one on top of the other.

Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530 vs Helio X25 and Mali-T880 – specifications, benchmarks and temperatures

Snapdragon 820 is the top CPU model of Qualcomm for 2016, and it can be found under the hood of some top notch smartphones out there on the market. Its MediaTek alternative turns out to be Helio X25, if we leave the Helio X30 aside because it’s not available on the market yet. A clash between Qualcomm and MediaTek is always intriguing, especially when we are talking about premium products.

This is why we decided to do a short comparison between the two chips with the help of LG G5 and Meizu Pro 6. In this article we compare the specifications of the two chips, put them side by side in a number of benchmark tests, evaluating the computing and graphics performance, as well as check the extent to which they lead to overheating of the smartphones’ constructions.

Oculus Touch Hands-on Review : Rift’s controllers give VR a whole new dimension

The Oculus Rift headset has been a solid piece of VR tech but also a slight disappointment, since the bundled Xbox One controller has felt like a limitation. It’s fun, but not as immersive as when using room-tracking tech like the HTC Vive.

Thankfully that will all change once Oculus Touch finally launches on 6 December. There may be some small last-minute tweaks, but during developer conference Oculus Connect 3 we got to play with what should be pretty much the final product.

Oculus Touch hands on

The hardware hasn’t changed much on the outside since we last used Touch despite going through many iterations in development. The half-moon design has stayed along with the three buttons on each controller. You can also still do pointing and thumbs-up motions as the sensors are able to pick up the slightest movements. I found this out during my demo of Ready at Dawn’s Lone Echowhich involved using my index finger to ‘press’ a virtual button down until it lit up completely.

Ford Ranger Wildtrak v Holden Colorado Z71 comparison

You may have read our previous eight-ute mega test in which the Ranger trumped all-comers to be named CarAdvice’s pick of the dual-cab ute crowd. In that same test, theColorado came last. Yep, eighth out of eight.

Hisense H65M5500 UHD 4K TV Review

What is the Hisense M5500?

The Hisense M5500 is the latest budget TV from the Chinese manufacturer and as with their previous models it appears to offer an almost unbelievable combination of features and value. The H65M550is a 65-inch Ultra HD 4K TV with support for High Dynamic Range(HDR) and Smart TV but it only costs £799/$1198 as at the time of writing (October 2016). Yes you read that price correctly – £799/$1198! So if the M5500 can deliver a decent performance, it will quite simply be the bargain of the year. We have been here before of course and last year’s 55K321 and 65XT910 both offered exceptional value but struggled in key areas such as colour accuracy. Let’s put the 65M5500 through its paces and see if it really is the bargain that it appears to be on paper.

Note: Along with the H65M5500, Hisense have also released theHE65K5510 for the same price but as far as we can tell both TVs are identical in terms of specifications and the only difference appears to be that the K5510 is styled in black rather than silver.

2017 BMW R NineT Scrambler First Ride Review

If you’re wanting to spend some quality time with your millennial hipster kid and think some shared motorcycle experiences are the way to do it, but you don’t want to relive your ownership of a Honda CB400, and have the means to afford a shiny new two-wheeler even the youthful bearded crowd will have a hard time pooh poohing, BMW’s new R NineT Scrambler might be for you.

It seems as though BMW was caught off guard by the success of the original R NineT (launched in 2013 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the R 32, BMW’s first motorcycle), which might explain why it took three years to follow up with the Scrambler model. With the announcement of two new R NineT models for 2017, BMW is now quickly capitalizing on its own heritage as well as the prevailing trend in heritagesque.

Drobo 5N review

The market for high-performance storage devices is diverse and constantly growing. There are plenty of products that offer decent storage capabilities out there, but they often compromise on usability and are targeted at people with technology expertise.

download

And when you find something that’s easy to use and has all the top features you require, it can prove costly. Drobo, a company well-known for its storage products and solutions, wants to change this with the Drobo 5N.

It’s an affordable, easy-to-use network-based 64TB storage solution and is gunning for the average NAS drive. As well as being easy to get up and running, the device – which costs around £479 (around $600/AUS$800) – is flexible and expandable. And it aims to keep your data safe at the same time.

Optoma NuForce BE Sport3 review

You may have been disappointed to hear that the iPhone 7 doesn’t have aheadphone jack. And while Apple has taken the brunt of the derision, it’s not alone – the Motorola Moto Z dropped the old audio standard as well. It seems that in our brave new world, wireless headphones are the future.

b3nceldkdju9sth8occekk-1200-80

While I haven’t been a fan of them in the past because of poor sound, short battery life and interference, the wireless headphone landscape has changed a lot over the past year. Today, they’re pretty darn great, and there’s no better example of that than the wireless buds on display here: the NuForce BE Sport3.

They are, beyond a doubt, one of the best wireless headphones on the market and I wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone who wants a pair of wireless earbuds that do it all.

Suzuki Ciaz Review

When looking for an Asian 4-door, sub-compact sedan, our market has a multitude of competitors. Right off the bat, you could be choosing one of six possible options. You’d have less probability of choosing the right car for you than choosing a correct answer in a multiple choice exam, and that includes having option E – None of the above. However, one car in this segment makes a strong case for itself. Much like college multiple choice tests, sometimes all the answers are sort of right, but, there will always be only one best answer. The Suzuki Ciaz certainly goes for trying to place itself as a potent choice in the sub-compact class.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Hands-on Review : First Impressions

Samsung has just launched in the country the latest addition to their J7 line-up of mid-range premium Android smartphone. Dubbed as the Galaxy J7 Prime, this handset features a metal unibody design unlike its siblings although there are some trade-offs that come along with it. Here’s out first impressions of the device.

samsung-j7-prime-1

Let’s begin by saying that the J7 Prime’s design is more premium than its siblings. It somehow resembles a Galaxy S7 but with a more square-ish body. The front has a 5.5-inch Full HD display which is an upgrade from a 720p panel. Although, Samsung opted for a muted TFT panel rather a vibrant AMOLED to keep the cost down. No worries as there’s Gorilla Glass 4 protecting the display.

There’s an 8MP selfie camera up top and the usual Samsung navigation buttons below. It’s nice to see a fingerprint scanner embedded in the physical home button just like the other flagships.

Earin wireless earbuds review

Now that the headphone jack is an endangered species, at least when it comes to smartphones (thanks, Apple), it’s time to start thinking about ditching cables altogether.

And what better way to do it than with a pair of properly wireless in-ear buds?

Earin’s crowd-funded, cable-free earbuds have been around for the best part of a year in the US, but now they’ve officially made their way to the UK for anyone that didn’t stump up the cash on Kickstarter.

Just pop a pair in your ears, sync ‘em with your phone, and press play. No messy wires to tangle, no adapters to carry around, no cords to get caught up in your clothes.

Sounds simple? It really is… when they work.

2017 BMW K1600GT Preview

BMW hasn’t slated a ton of changes for the 2017 K1600GT, but then it didn’t need to. The K16’s inline Six engine delivers power, sound, and smoothness that other touring bikes can only dream of. In 2015, the GT and the GTL gained traction control for the claimed 160 hp and 129 lb-ft cranked out by the six cylinders. For 2017, the engine stays functionally the same as last year with the exception of meeting Euro 4 emission requirements. If that were the only change for the GT, it’d still be on the short list of bikes we’d want to take on a cross-country tour. Fortunately, BMW added a few changes that make the GT even more desirable.

Devialet Gold Phantom review: Pure gold from this space-age Wi-Fi speaker

Gaming fans might think the Devialet Phantom looks like a real-life replica of Ghost from smash-hit title Destiny, but audiophiles will know the high-end French manufacturer doesn’t speak in vocoded Peter Dinklage, but instead top-end, crystal clear audio. And now, in its Gold guise, in extra-loud 4,500W form.

We’ll still draw on that Hollywood star comparison though: like the futuristic floating orb from the game and the small-yet-mighty man behind its voice, the Phantom delivers futuristic funk from its space-age design with far greater aplomb than its small stature might otherwise suggest.

Oh yes, the Phantom can certainly roar. But the £2,190/$3,285 price tag, per unit, is enough to make you scream.

Scream in joy, but of course, because the Gold Phantom, quite simply, sounds exceptional. Well, it does once you’ve got over the setup stage anyway.

Meike 12mm f/2.8 Lens Review

Meike 12mm F2,8 Oblique Front View

Meike is one of a new breed of innovative lens manufacturers, producing interesting manual focus lenses at very reasonable prices. The Meike 12mm f/2.8 is reviewed here using the Panasonic Lumix G6 camera body, giving a “35mm equivalent” of a 24mm lens. This is a classic focal length that has proved itself over many years, so let’s see how this new version handles and performs.

Handling and Features

A well engineered, metal bodied construction gives a good impression of the lens from the start. At 380g, it is solid but not unduly heavy in use. The front element is well protected by the well-made bayonet lens hood. The hood has a securing catch so it does not become rotated or detached during use. There is a 72mm filter thread.

And finally : Samsung Gear S3 to become Gear VR controller

Welcome to another edition of And finally, our round up of the less credible and smaller wearable and connected technology stories of the week.

Gear S3 to control Gear VR

Every Sunday we gorge ourselves on rumour and speculation, after a week of lean news proteins and good wholesome grains of fact. And why not indeed? This week we have news on elephant wearables, Formula 1 and Donald Trump detectors… but first, something from Samsung.

Samsung Gear watches to control Gear VR

Opening the rumour mill this week is a new report that Samsung is working on an app to enable users to control its Gear VR headset with a smartwatch app. SamMobile reports that an app for the Samsung Gear S3 and Gear S2 is imminent, which could offer a large degree of control in the VR world. Details are light, but that could be in-game control, or a way of swapping between VR apps without coming out of the headset.

2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD Diesel – First Drive Review

While many C/D staffers were slurping up snails and cold soup at the Paris auto show, I was in the Lone Star State scarfing down barbecue with fried Jell-O chasers and driving heavy-duty pickups, on the occasion of the Texas state fair. SanDisk Z410 review – reliable SSD that will boost your system’s performance

Kết quả hình ảnh cho SanDisk Z410

Most people already know that the main bottleneck for the quick operation of contemporary computers is their HDDs. Hard drives are convenient when you want to organize large collections of songs and movies. But that’s probably their only positive feature.

Cloud systems and services seem to have made storing multimedia on your computer unnecessary, considering that you can easily access whatever it is that you want thanks to the constant Internet connection. The moving elements in hard drives make these devices dangerous for the data you store on them, in case you accidentally drop or hit your computer while its working. However, the most unpleasant feature of this type of drives is their low speed – the OS and apps are slow to load, the drive is noisy, and the effectiveness – low. If you have never used an SSD, you probably think that all this is normal but once you get a taste of the SSD experience, there is no way back – Solid State Drives use super fast flash memory, they’re quiet and reliable.

Sonus faber Venere S Speaker Review

What is the Sonus faber Venere S?

The Sonus faber Venere S (short for ‘Signature’) is the newest and largest member of the Venere series of speakers from Sonus faber. The Venere range has been around for a few years now and is designed to capture the qualities of the Sonus faber brand at a more affordable price point. Why is this a challenge? After all many speaker brands have to capture the qualities of their more expensive models. With Sonus faber however, their products have a reputation for the quality of materials used and the industrial design that few other brands can match. Even an ‘affordable’ Sonus faber has to feel special and, impressively, the Venere range achieves this.

2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 Preview

At Intermot 2016, Kawasaki announced the Ninja 1000 sport tourer would receive a host of upgrades to enhance both the sport and touring sides of its dual personalities.

KME 2289 Dolomites

While there are obvious design changes to make the bodywork fresh, chief among those updates is the addition of a six-axis IMU from Bosch. With it, the 2017 Ninja 1000 electronics suite is now able to offer much more sophisticated levels of control.

Both the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS) utilize the IMU to get a real time picture of the motorcycle’s chassis orientation, which it can then use to intervene if needed, and the level at which intervention is applied.

Specifically, the IMU enables the KTRC system to offer more precise wheelie control, while KIBS now offers rear lift mitigation and minimal lever kickback during operation. The ECU also takes into account feedback from the IMU, throttle position sensor, clutch actuation, and gear position to account for back torque while using the rear brake and downshifting.
