Aukey 5000mAh External Battery Charger review: Compact, easy-to-use on-the-go power bank for your phone or tablet

Compact and stylish, this Aukey power bank is easy to use and offers good value for charging your phone or tablet on the go. We review the Aukey 5000mAh External Battery Charger.

There may not be a carry case in the box, but this blue anodised aluminium power bank both looks and feels good. In design the cylindrical Aukey External Battery Charger reminds us very much of the Anker Astro Mini power bank. It’s only a pound more expensive, at £10.99/$16 from Amazon UK, but offers a higher capacity for charging your phone or tablet away from the mains.

Asus Zenfone Selfie review

1. Introduction

The Asus Zenfone Selfie has got to be the company’s most straightforward attempt at product naming. Sure, it does have the mandatory 7-symbol alphanumeric model string at its tail, which means zip to the uninitiated, but unlike the piles of different Zenfone 2’s, in this case a simple Selfie will suffice to describe the specific model.

The title does well to advertise the smartphone’s headline feature and in person the handset isn’t shy showing it off either. Selfie could very well come before Zenfone with this one, as the front 13MP shooter has pushed the earpiece out of its customary central position.

Neat Motive SX3 review

It’s not unfair to expect big things from speakers as small as the Neat Motive SX3s – not when their five-star predecessors, the Motive 3s, have kept us entertained for the best part of a decade.

The SX3s belong to the next generation Motive range – ‘SX’ – and certainly have big shoes to fill.

Available in walnut, black oak, natural oak and satin white finishes, the SX3s keep the distinctive ‘Motive’ look, but there are two obvious differences.

MyZone tracks fitness effort to make health inspiring again

Professional athletes and lay people have used heart rate zone training for years. It works. That’s why MyZone has been built around that zone training system to help anyone become better than they thought possible.

MyZone tracks fitness effort, rather than less accurate numbers like calories. The result is a tailored workout where an unfit person could do better in the rating system than an athlete, if they put in more effort.

KEF R300 review

There are many pros to choosing standmounters over floorstanders. The most obvious is their practical size.

But if you’re looking for compact speakers to tuck discreetly into your room, these KEFs might not immediately be for you.

Build

Relatively tall (39cm) and deep (35cm), the three-way R300s are on the large side. Unsurprisingly, they are the biggest standmounts in KEF’s R range.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Review : Breakthrough Durability

The Droid Turbo 2 is the first smartphone I’ve ever used that turns what used to be panic into borderline glee. A Verizon exclusive, this handset ($624, or $26 per month) boasts a shatterproof display with five layers of protection. So when the Droid Turbo 2 slips out your hand and slams onto the street, tile or concrete, you’ll just laugh it off instead of cringe.

The Turbo 2 has some other things going for it, too, including a design you can customize online and the fastest battery charging we’ve seen yet. We just wished that Verizon didn’t include so much bloatware.

Falcon Northwest Tiki Review

Looks can be deceiving. At first glance, you might mistake the Falcon Northwest Tiki ($4,514 as reviewed, $2,459 starting) for a business desktop. Its slim figure belies the powerful Intel Core i7-5960X processor and Nvidia GTX 980 Ti GPU that rest just beneath this PC’s cool, aluminum chassis. But make no mistake: While the Tiki can sit comfortably in your entertainment center, it can also play some of the most demanding games on the market without a hiccup. It’s definitely worth checking out — if you can get past its exorbitant price tag.

2015 Holden Commodore SS-V Redline, Chrysler 300 SRT and Ford Falcon XR8 review

Home-grown or imported? That’s the choice for V8 lovers in this three-way arm wrestle.

Eight-cylinder cars are an extravagance most buyers can do without. Most buyers already do, opting for smaller sedans and SUVs with efficient turbo engines rather than the home-grown V8s.

For those who drive their vehicles rather than commute in them, a traditional V8 is still an enticing prospect. If you were raised on the Holden vs Ford rivalry, it is a last chance to wave the red or blue flag.

Apple 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display review: All about the ultra-high definition

A new iMac range is here to woo you into staying with the desktop in 2015 rather than going mobile.

With new processors, new displays, and new graphics options there is plenty to be tempted by. We’ve been using the new 21.5-inch model with 4K display to find out whether sitting at your desk – now in ultra-high definition – really is still a viable option.

Adidas miCoach Fit Smart review

By adding everyday activity tracking, the Fit Smart is now much more useful than it once was. But while it’s somewhat useful in keeping you in a specific training zone for workouts, we’re not entirely convinced the heart rate monitor is accurate enough to help with detailed conditioning. For those looking for some visual stimulation during workouts however, the coloured zone system does provide some inspiration.

Sony RX1R II vs Sony A7RII Specifications Comparison

Here is a quick review and comparison for the Sony RX1R II vs Sony A7RII cameras with full-frame image sensors.

To see the difference between Sony RX1R II vs Sony A7RII cameras we have put together Sony RX1R II vs Sony A7RII specs comparison table below.

Sure we don’t think Sony RX1R II will beat the Sony A7RII as with the core specifications. A premium compact and mirrorless camera comparison makes no sense but we thought that only specs comparison would be good for photographers, because both cameras have the same 42.4-megapixel resolution with a same price.

Aukey 5 Ports USB Charging Station with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 review: Fast and simultaneous charging for all your mobile devices

Aukey’s five-port desktop USB charger is an excellent solution for simultaneously charging multiple mobile devices – especially if one of those phones or tablets supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. Read our Aukey desktop charger review.

The Aukey five-port desktop USB charger is available from Amazon UK for £17.99/$27, making it £8/$12 cheaper than its Choetech rival. It also looks nicer on the desk, a stylish and compact black rectangular plastic box with smooth, polished sides, a matt top and fewer logos and legends that are always on show.

2015 Chevrolet Colorado LT Crew Cab 4WD vs. 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab 4×4 – Comparison Tests

From Tacorado to Eternity: The Tacoma and the Colorado do battle all the way from Tacoma to Colorado.

It’s an on-the-nose, obvious, literal, and okay, shallow idea: Pit the transmogrified Toyota Tacoma against the fresh-enough Chevrolet Colorado during a journey from Tacoma to Colorado. Get it?

“It’s pointless,” mumbled senior editor Tony Quiroga as he was “volunteered” for co-driving duty on this adventure.

Amazon Fire TV 2 Review (2015)

The Amazon Fire TV is aimed at Amazon Prime members and prospective Prime members – if that’s not you, be wary. If you’re thinking of purchasing this device with the intent of making it your sole Smart TV controller, you’re going to want to be aware of a few things, the first of which is its extreme similarity to its predecessor. We’re looking at the 2015 edition of the Amazon Fire TV – this is the version you’ll be able to buy from Amazon now, while the previous generation will most likely be sold only by 3rd-party retailers with clearly marked signs and major discounts.

Canon 5DS R Review

5DS R SUMMARY

The Canon 5DS R, the highest-resolution EOS body to date, is an all-around striking camera that captures some seriously impressive, incredibly detailed photographs. The higher resolution sensor does make shooting technique more crucial though, and the video features and ISO range are limited compared to other full-frame cameras, so the camera is certainly not everyone. For professional and advanced enthusiast portrait, editorial, landscape and nature photographers looking for extreme image detail in a tried-and-true Canon DSLR package — without jumping to a digital medium format system — the Canon 5DS R is the answer.

LG V10 Review Part I: replacing the Galaxy Note

Over the past several years, Samsung and LG have waged a silent battle against one another. This was a battle of the big phones. The Samsung Galaxy Note reigned supreme for several generations, checking all the boxes for a power user. These must-haves included a removable battery, a massive display, expandable storage (via microSD slot), and an excellent camera. But in the same year that Samsung does away with two of these “must have” features for their most powerful smartphone, LG picks up the slack. In the LG V10 is the home for the power user.

Razer Diamondback Review (2015)

The Razer Diamondback ambidextrous mouse is one of the most well-rounded and beautiful mice I’ve ever used, in any category. While I’m still all about using a right-handed mouse – since I’m not really a lefty – this piece of equipment is shaped fine enough that I’ve not noticed a major difference. This is the return of the mouse that worked with the world’s first optical gaming sensor – now back for its 4th iteration, the first update to the mouse since 2007.

Nixeus ARC 4.0 Bluetooth speaker mini-review

Music, as with most gadgets and entertainment in one’s life, has become portable, with powerful speakers about the size of soda cans filling the market. They pack a battery, allowing them to run for hours without a wired tether; they connect to your phone or tablet over Bluetooth, eliminating the other wired tether. Many even function as a speakerphone, allowing one to take a call seamlessly, then return to their music. All these things are true of the Nixeus ARC 4.0, a wireless speaker we recently took for a spin.

Pebble Time Round review: A prettier design comes with tradeoffs

Earlier this year, Pebble released two new smartwatches: The Time and the Time Steel. Both feature color e-ink displays, an updated “Timeline” interface, support for voice replies, and a new accessory port that promises to increase the watch’s functionality over time through third-party “smart straps.” But two watches wasn’t enough for Pebble. In September, the company unveiled yet another new model: the Pebble Time Round. As its name suggests, it’s basically just a circular version of the Time, and will be available in stores starting November 8th for $249. It’s also thinner, lighter and the strap comes in both 14mm and 20mm widths, making it ideal for smaller wrists. But with this more fashionable look comes a couple of concessions: it has much shorter battery life than its predecessors and isn’t nearly as water-resistant. The Time Round is, without a doubt, the best-looking device the company has ever put out, but those tradeoffs lessen its value considerably.

BlackBerry Priv review: Android alone can’t save the company

Sports fans often say that their team could pull itself out of a losing streak if only it’d play that exciting but untested, kid who’s usually consigned to the bench. Gadgets fans sing a similar hymn about BlackBerry, opining that it would have remained relevant if it’d adopted Android to run on its phones. Now, several years too late, we’re going to see what the long-deposed world champion can do with the world’s most popular operating system. The result is the Priv, a premium Android smartphone-cum-hail-Mary that’s offering two things other companies can’t: Privilege and Privacy. It’s also packing a slide-out physical keyboard, a 5.4-inch curved display and, naturally, the company’s famous security software. But the device has something else that we’ve not seen in a BlackBerry phone since the launch of the Q10: the expectation that the device might actually be worth buying.

10 Great Luxury Sedans

1. AUDI A6

The Audi A6 ranks high among critics in the luxury car class, and it’s no secret why. Three engines are available for the A6, suiting whatever you’re looking for. The base engine, a 252 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, gets the best gas mileage out of the three.

A supercharged V-6 delivering 333 horsepower offers raw power, while a diesel V-6 producing 240 horsepower rounds out the bunch. All are available with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic. The interior is comfortable and wrapped in leather, and the perfectly tuned suspension cushions all road imperfections, giving you a smooth ride. The A6 does everything right, leaving you with a great car for any occasion.

Review: ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser

ASUS has introduced a new variant of the ZenFone 2, which we reviewedearlier this year. This new variant is called the ZenFone 2 Laser, and it comes with a modest $199 USD starting price, shaving $30 or more off the ZenFone 2’s price tag. The Laser variant is largely the same as the original ZenFone 2 smartphone, but with some small differences, not the least of which is the laser-assisted auto-focus from which the variant gets its name.

Alienware Steam Machine will soon be available to take on PS4 and Xbox One, here are our first impressions

It’s been two years since gaming Valve first announced its assault on the living room with its Steam Machine console concept and we are finally about to get the first wave of devices after a stop-start journey.

Alienware will be one of the first out of the blocks when it releases its first Steam Machine on 10 November in the UK and we got to play with one, Steam Controller included, ahead of the street date in order to gain an insight into its abilities. And, on first impressions, we feel it could be a valid competitor to conventional consoles.

2016 Cadillac Escalade Platinum Review

I am not a rapper. I’m not even – to my parents constant disappointment – a superstar DJ. Instead I’m a 5’8 British man, and I really shouldn’t like the 2016 Cadillac Escalade. In fact, as someone who believes in climate change and gets vaguely embarrassed by expressions of outlandish and obvious excess, I should probably hate it.

I come from a country where 1.8-liters is considered a large engine, after all, and where anything over 2.0-liters is strongly suspected of being over-compensation for shortcomings elsewhere.

Kurio Tab 2 review: a kids’ tablet that’s almost great

Kids tablets are steadily improving with many now being ‘proper’ tablets instead of ‘toys’ with proprietary app stores and none of the apps your kids actually want. Kurio reckons it has come up with the best yet in the Tab 2.

We’re always wary of any product that claims to be the ultimate, but Kurio goes even further with the Tab 2, saying it’s also the “safest tablet for kids”. It’s not perfect, but it is one of the better options if you don’t want to hand over your iPad (or buy your kids their own).

Final Sonorous X review

If first impressions count, then Final has got things nailed with its range-topping headphones, the Sonorous X. These arrive in an immaculately made fur-lined wooden box.

The first impression of these Sonorous X headphones lives up to its packaging thanks to the combination of stainless steel and aluminium ear-cup (covered with gold leaf, no less) and use of high quality leather.

It leaves an impression of luxury few headphones can rival.
