2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid review

Playing the range game, I set out from San Francisco in the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid with a fully charged battery, the instrument panel noting 35 miles of electric range, headed for the coast. Pacifica minivan and Pacific ocean, makes enough sense for a car review.

2017chryslerpacificahybrid-053

Only 32 miles to Half Moon Bay, but due to a big hill on the route I expected the engine to kick in well before I sighted the blue Pacific. Turns out the freeway proved a more immediate challenge, as maintaining 65 to 70 mph over rolling hills drains range fast.

After covering only 25 miles in the Pacifica Hybrid, at the start of that big hill at 280 and Highway 92, I’m looking at 1 mile of electric range, so it’s back to burning dinosaurs. Chrysler claims 33 miles of electric driving on a full charge, so it came up short by 6. City or suburban driving will yield better results. As the minivan goes from full electric drive to hybrid gasoline-electric, I complete my path to the coast.

The top 10 small SUVs currently on sale

10. Kia Soul

The Soul is more of a jacked-up hatchback than a fully fledged SUV. However, it still offers many of the benefits buyers in this market are looking for – it’s competitively priced and its interior is roomy and well equippped. All of the Soul’s engines could be more efficient and quiet, though, and there’s plenty of wind noise at motorway speeds. There’s a fully electric version to consider if you’ll mainly be driving in town.

Our pick: 1.6 GDi 2

5 Winning Features of the OnePlus 5

The OnePlus 5, the company’s newest flagship smartphone and it’s first to sport a dual rear camera setup that is found in other high-end devices. There’s more to it though than the camera technology. Take a look at the five winning features of the OnePlus 5.

Design

The OnePlus 5’s design has been criticized due to its similarities with the iPhone 7 Plus. Still, we can’t deny that it’s a sleek-looking device. It has a rounded design with tapered edges, making the whole device feel thinner than it actually is At 7.25mm thick, it’s the company’s thinnest flagship smartphone to date. The body, on the other hand, is made of anodized aluminum for that premium feel. Color options are limited though to Midnight Black and Slate Gray.

Audio Pro Addon C5 review

It may have taken longer to get connected than your Gran, but Audio Pro’s Addon range of wireless speakers has finally discovered the internet – and it won’t be using it to Google knitting patterns or make Skype calls to its relatives.

Much like your Gran, however, the Swedish manufacturer could tell you how it’s managed just fine all these years without it.

The Addon T3 was our wireless speaker Product of the Year in 2015 and held onto its Award the following year, while the T5 earned itself a five-star review. As a producer of affordable one-box Bluetooth speakers, Audio Pro has an enviable recent history.

Audio Pro’s products have been so good the option to place its speakers throughout the house in a multi-room set-up makes perfect sense. Thanks to two new speakers, the Addon C5 and C10, plus a wireless hub named Live 1, it’s now a possibility.

Samsung Notebook 9 Pro review

Convertible laptops have been refined down to a science since their awkward first steps onto the market a few years ago, and Samsung is perhaps most representative of this. The firm’s Notebook 9 Pro is the best example of meteoric improvement we’ve seen in awhile.

Available in both 13.3 and 15-inch varieties, the new Notebook 9 Pro is a convertible 2-in-1 laptop, far removed from the traditional trappings of the previous generation. Instead, the electronics firm has opted to keep things simple with a single configuration for both models while focusing its energy on incorporating its S-Pen technology and Air Command software

The results are an economically-configured, stylish all-metal laptop sporting some of Samsung’s latest touchscreen and stylus technology. Frankly, we’re so impressed by the device’s appearance and capability despite its price and specs that we’ve granted the Notebook 9 Pro our Editor’s Choice Award.

2018 Seat Arona revealed – prices, specs and release date

The Seat Arona is a Nissan Juke rival that will sit below the Ateca in the Spanish brand’s range. Here’s everything you need to know about this new SUV

Priced from £15,000/$19,101 (est) Release date December 2017

Until recently, Seat had as much experience of building SUVs as Ferrari did mobility scooters. However, the Spanish brand’s first effort, the Ateca, was so good that we named it our 2017 Small SUV of the Year, and now it’s following it up with this: the Seat Arona.

Named after a municipality on the island of Tenerife, it’s smaller than the Ateca, being based on the latest Ibiza hatchback. So, while the Ateca is a rival to the Nissan Qashqai, the Arona will compete with the likes of the Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 and Renault Captur.

Kensington Laptop Locking Station 2.0 Review

Kensington may be known best for its patented lock-slot devices, which use a small slot built into the chassis of a laptop to secure the device with a cable lock. However, those small lock slots aren’t found on every notebook, and as laptops get slimmer there’s less and less real estate for installing a slot into the chassis.

For such cases, Kensington has the Locking Laptop Station 2.0 ($89.99), a sleek appliance that securely locks down any thin laptop 11 to 15 inches in size. Available with an optional standard Kensington cable lock ($119.99 with the lock included), the Locking Laptop Station 2.0 is a great way to secure a laptop that doesn’t have a lock slot.

Design

The locking station has three main components: a brushed aluminum base, two adjustable locking arms and an optional lock loop. The aluminum base won’t scratch your pristine MacBook, thanks to rubber bumper pads that protect the lid and underside of your laptop when it’s locked into place.

Mecool M8S Pro review

Android TV boxes, often associated with Kodi, have had a bit of a bad press lately because of piracy concerns, but they can also be used as desktop replacement devices – real alternatives to bulky Windows PCs, especially in offices that have embraced BYOD and where mobile working is second nature.

The Mecool M8S Pro is one of the latest such devices to hit the market and comes with some cracking features that will appeal to a far wider audience beyond consumers and into the SMB space.

Online Chinese retailer, Gearbest, sent us the sample unit, and sells the Mecool M8S Pro (which it calls a ‘TV Box’) for only £47 ($60). Nissan Qashqai (2017) review: Is the original SUV crossover still the best?

There’s barely a suburban street that doesn’t have a Qashqai, or a pair of Qashqai. There isn’t a school car park or supermarket without a brace of Qashqai. Nissan’s mini SUV is pandemic, having created the crossover category and now dominated it for 10 years.

It’s that success that’s caught the eye of the competition, so it’s no surprise to find that Nissan has updated the Qashqai as it fends off increasingly competitive SUV crossover rivals in the hottest segment on British roads.

In the fight to be the ultimate crossover there is no let up. Is the Qashqai still king?

Acer Predator XB272 review

acer-predator-xb272-04

Acer raises the bar for high frame-rate gamers, extending its 25-inch Predator XB252 up to 27 inches and bringing with it a maximum refresh of 240Hz. At $680 (approximately £620, AU$1,050) It’s not the cheapest G-Sync monitor around, but at the moment it’s one of the few to refresh that fast. And for a TN panel, it’s pretty good.(Don’t confuse this with the as-yet-unavailable XB272-HDR, which has a completely different panel.)

The trade-off, though, is resolution, which is also the same as the smaller panel. That means you can drive a truck between the pixels — OK, not really, but it does mean that for doing things other than playing games it’s not very sharp. For games, you can use G-Sync DSR to increase the perceived resolution.

2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio First Drive: Offbeat Italian SUV comes to conquer

When you’re Alfa Romeo, and a decent chunk of your appeal is that you’re not the mainstream option, building an SUV like the 2018 Stelvio presents a tricky balance to strike. After all, Alfa drivers may not want a predictable car in their garage, but Fiat Chrysler Automobiles shareholders want mainstream sales. The Giulia sports sedan may have found favor among passionate drivers, but crossovers and SUVs are where the widest wallets are. Alfa Romeo had a choice, therefore, and the Stelvio is the answer, born of the Giulia but out hunting mutineers from the mainstream.

It’s an increasingly crowded segment, as Alfa Romeo knows all too well. As well as the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and BMW X3, there are more unusual options like Porsche’s Macan and, most recently, Jaguar’s F-PACE. Sales overall are booming – 1 in 4 premium vehicles sold last year was a premium SUV, in fact – but the competition is strong. “Our customers will be 100-percent conquest if you’re being realistic,” Pieter Hogeveen, director of Alfa Romeo North America, explains. “They’re used to a premium experience.”

Amazon Echo Show Review: Alexa’s screen shows promise

Amazon’s Echo has grown from a voice-controlled curiosity to being a legitimate home assistant, and now, with Echo Show, it’s gaining a display. The latest iteration in the smart speaker series bucks the trend of spoken interactions only, adding a touchscreen so that Alexa can show & tell. At $229.99, however, it’s the most expensive version so far, and at this early stage not everything has quite got to grips with the new abilities.

Echo Show hardware

Amazon’s hardware continues to err on the utilitarian side. Unlike the cylindrical Echo and Echo Dot, the Echo Show opts for a trapezoidal design, measuring in at 7.4 x 7.4 x 3.5 inches. The front is dominated by a 7-inch touchscreen, with dual 2-inch stereo speakers underneath behind a mesh grille. You can pair up a Bluetooth speaker for louder audio, though the Echo Show’s own speakers are reasonable, or connect a Bluetooth source and play it through Amazon’s device.

2018 Audi Sport RS 5 Coupe First-Drive Review: A go-anywhere grand-tourer

The world’s moving towards turbochargers and Audi’s not immune to the change, and as a result, we have this new Audi-built 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. It’s at the heart of the 2018 Audi Sport RS 5 Coupe, described by Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH., as “the gran turismo among the RS models from Audi Sport.” That means “elegant aesthetics with high everyday usability,” something I got to test out in full on the roads of Andorra.

Normally I wouldn’t write up a review of a first drive car, but this RS 5 Coupe drive was no typical program. The challenge started with choosing a car, though that proved to be a no-brainer given that the new halo color is Sonoma Green Metallic. Unlike the gray with black optics package, or red with aluminum exterior trim, the green and black optics took some time to grow on me.

Chord Hugo 2 review

Our infatuation with Chord’s remarkable Hugo DAC – which manifests itself in its five-star multiple-Award winning statu – is as strong as ever. We overlook its little foibles – its wilfully quirky design, the tougher-to-access-than-necessary input and output sockets – like an indulgent parent forgives an infant’s table-manners. We love its thrillingly detailed, effortlessly dynamic and neatly organised sound as much now as we did the first time we heard it.

So for us, at least, Chord had no need to go fiddling.

But Chord is a restless company, and Hugo is no more. Instead, please welcome to the stage Hugo 2. A little smaller, a little sharper around the edges, and significantly more expensive than the original. And, unlikely though it seems, slightly quirkier than before.

SanDisk iXpand Mini flash drive review: Storage companion for Apple iPhone

Hình ảnh có liên quan

Western Digital-owned SanDisk is a pretty well-known name when it comes to digital memory and storage products such as memory cards and USB flash drives. A little while back, the company launched its iXpand USB flash drive mini in India. Specifically designed to add external storage to Apple’s iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads, the iXpand mini range of flash drives come in 16, 32, 64 and 128GB capacities with price ranging from Rs 2,750 to Rs 7,050. We reviewed the 32GB variant and here’s what we think of it.

Design

With the iXpand Mini, the company has changed the design of the device compared to its predecessor. While the earlier iXpand has a hook-like construction at the end that houses the lightening connector, the iXpand Mini has a simple rectangular body. This design makes it easier for you to carry it in your wallet or pocket, something that might have been a little difficult with the previous version.

Toshiba Portege X20W-D review

toshibabody2

Toshiba gave all its attention to making business PCs after getting out of the shrinking consumer PC market in 2016. If the company’s premium Portege X20W-D is an indication of where it’s headed, the singular focus might pay off.

The ultraportable 2-in-1 starts at $999, AU$2,145 or £1,399 in the UK and is available in several preassembled configurations. Or you can, at least in the US, configure one yourself to create a laptop like our review system, which hit $2,099. A better option, though, might be the similarly configured Signature Edition available through Microsoft for $1,500.

Regardless of what processor, memory and storage you go with though, all the base features and components are the same and result in an excellent, if slightly buttoned-up, tablet/laptop hybrid. And while it’s aimed at business users, students might want to consider it, too, for its slim body and 2.4-pound weight (1.1 kg) as well as the included Wacom-powered TruPen active stylus.

2017 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RC Review

The same Italian madhouse production that gave us the F3 800 RC, the hottest performing middleweight sportbike in production, upgraded their Reparto Corse line-up with this condescending streetfighter born out of the experience gained by MV Agusta with their rich participation in World Superbike and Supersport arenas. The limited edition MV Agusta Dragster 800 RC.

Based on the original Dragster 800 and the RR, this stunning piece of entry by the house of Varese is for an audience who desire the best of both worlds. Beauty and performance. Wearing jazzier clothes, this RC can let you taste the spirit of racing and technology that thrives on pure emotions and a rich heritage. It was unveiled at EICMA in Milan, Italy.

Turning motorcycles into a work of art has become a trait at MV Agusta, and truly have been a bedroom wallpaper design. People who owned one, usually have another motorcycle from some other brand as well to do their everyday riding. Having made some of the most exotic Italian masterpieces on two wheels, the MV Agusta has a tremendous history in terms of making some of the most beautiful looking and aerodynamic motorcycles on the planet.

Cube iWork 1X 2-in-1 Tablet PC review

When it comes to tablets or laptops, the bare minimum you should be looking for to run Windows 10 comfortably is a quad-core (or quad-thread) device with 4GB of system memory and 64GB on-board storage (eMMC is okay, but preferably SSD).

KzehdyaHXBK4ZB7BRipdF-650-80

Cube, a newcomer to TechRadar Pro, unveiled the iWork 1X at the beginning of the year. This 2-in-1 convertible laptop was the first one to come with the Intel Atom X5-Z8350 processor, a slightly improved version of the Z8300, one of the most popular CPUs of 2016.

This device fulfils the three aforementioned requirements for running Windows 10 decently and does so with a price tag of just over £150 (around $190), making it one of the cheapest Windows products to pull off this feat.

Lenovo Miix 720 Review

Starting at $1,029 (tested at $1,129), the Lenovo Miix 720 is a solid combination of tablet and laptop that’s more affordable than its competitors. This 12-inch detachable 2-in-1 offers both a bright, vivid display and a comfortable keyboard along with performance that nearly matches that of the Surface Pro. However, the less than 6 hours of battery life leaves us yearning for more.

Design

The Miix 720 features a metal-alloy shell that comes in a blackish hue Lenovo calls Iron Grey. Its kickstand rotates on a pair of stainless-steel watchband hinges that extend up to 150 degrees for use at a variety of angles.

But despite the versatile hinges and the Mixx’s detachable keyboard made of sturdy plastic and faux-fabric, the laptop doesn’t offer much stability unless you use it on a desk. When I tried typing on the machine in my lap, it didn’t feel stable, but that’s standard for systems like this.

2018 BMW X3: first images leak ahead of reveal

Heads up, BMW fans, the first images of the upcoming 2018 X3 have made their way online, a full day before the compact SUV’s official debut. It seems this is a result of a goof on the part of BMW’s Hong Kong website, which not only published photos but specs as well. As the third-generation X3, the SUV is now using BMW’s modular CLAR platform, and has a bit more power across the model line.

As far as design goes, the new X3 doesn’t drastically change things up, but there are a few styling tweaks including a taller front end, headlights that are now separated from the kidney grilles, and an overall longer and wider stance.

iRulu Walknbook 2 Detachable 2-in-1 Review

Don’t call this a review — it’s a public service announcement. iRulu touts its $199 Walknbook 2 (W20) detachable 2-in-1 as a budget productivity machine, but it’s more likely to produce a headache than your next quarterly report. Its Atom processor can’t handle multitasking, and its keyboard and touchpad are among the worst I’ve ever used. The detachable display is surprisingly colorful for a 2-in-1 that’s this cheap, but its weak performance and awful usability make it impossible to recommend.

Design

Nearly everything about the Walknbook’s design gives me pause. While I appreciated the bright-green tablet (it also comes in orange), it looks like it’s from another era. It has a giant, black bezel around the 10.1-inch screen, with a Windows logo on the bottom (the kind you saw on Windows 8 tablets). The black back is an extreme fingerprint magnet. It features the iRulu logo in gray, as well as prominent Intel and Windows logos and a lot of ugly text that other companies go out of their way to hide, like the model number and wattage details.

Lomo’Instant Automat Glass Review

Introduction

The Lomo’Instant Automat Glass is the world’s first instant camera to feature a wide-angle glass lens. It is equipped with a 38mm lens (which is equivalent to 21mm in 35mm terms), and features 6 elements in 4 groups, with a multi-coated front element. The maximum aperture is f/4.5, and there’s a minimum focusing distance of 0.3 metres. The Lomo’Instant Automat Glass camera is fully automated, hence its name, but there are some elements which you can adjust yourself. For the first iteration of the camera, Lomo has produced a “Megellan” edition. Like other cameras of its kind, the Lomo Automat Glass works with Instax Mini film. This is widely available in various outlets, and produces a credit card sized print. The Lomo’Instant Automat Glass costs £169/$215.

Ease of Use

A camera like this is not for those who like to be demure with their camera choices. Although it’s not the most unusual looking Lomo camera on the market, it’s also quite far removed from most average cameras. The Lomo’Instant Automat Glass is far too large to fit in a pocket, with a square design that has been built to accommodate the Instax Mini film at the back.

Moto E4 vs Moto E4 Plus vs Moto E3 (2015): What’s the difference?

Given the announcement of the ultra-budget Moto C and refresh of Moto G (in the G5 and G5 Plus models) in 2017, we weren’t entirely convinced that Lenovo would continue to produce the Moto E series.

But produce it has, and in two guises: the Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus. Available worldwide from 12 June 2017, both devices will be universally unlocked (quite a big deal for our American friends), with a feature set that, depending on which E4 you choose, is knocking on the door of Moto G5 territory, making either device a savvy budget purchase.

Gigabyte P34G v7 review

The Taiwanese component giant Gigabyte have been making their P34 range of gaming laptops for a while now. We reviewed one of its previous incarnations favorably back in 2014.

They’re a quality, or should we say mature, gaming line. They’re sometimes not the fastest, flashiest ones out there, instead they’ve got a couple of twists.

Firstly, as you’d expect they’re packed with quality parts, but they’re packaged unusually, at least for gamers’ tastes. These aren’t the neon flashing, cyborg peacocks we’re used to (ahem… Acer Predator 21 X), they’re for sophisticated gamers. Ones who don’t want to draw attention to themselves on a train while preventing the world from alien invasion.

And the other twist? We tend to think of games-capable laptops as being humongous, chunky and defying all notions of portability. Instead this is thin and light, weighing in at 3.73 pounds (1.69kg) and a slender 0.87 inches (22.2mm) thick.

OnePlus 5 vs OnePlus 3T vs OnePlus 3: What’s the difference?

OnePlus’ next flagship killer has been stealing headlines over the last few weeks with several confirmations from the company itself prior to the launch. Now all the details are official though with the OnePlus 5 arriving seven months after the OnePlus 3T.
