2018 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV First Drive: 5 Things You Need To Know

Volkswagen has found itself on the outside looking in when it comes to the current SUV zeitgeist that has seized American car shoppers. The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan compact sport-utility vehicle, in combination with the full-size VW Atlas, is intended to address that oversight and snag a larger slice of customer affections (and paychecks) than the previous Tiguan and the ignored Touareg were able to claim.

I had the chance to drive the new VW Tiguan from mile high Denver, Colorado through the hills surrounding Boulder and back down to Golden, which was true workout for the completely redesigned people mover. Has Volkswagen finally taken its proper seat at the SUV table? Check out these 5 things you need to know about the 2018 Tiguan.

Sling TV Review: Cheap Cable TV for Cord Cutters

Sling TV was the first service to venture into the cable-replacement sphere. Back when it launched, with its attractive $20 price tag and handful of basic cable channels, it seemed like an unusual experiment; now, it’s grown into one of the most comprehensive streaming services on the market. Whether you’ll want Sling TV is, of course, dependent on what you watch — and how much you’re willing to spend.

While Sling TV may have been the first game in town, it’s not necessarily the best. Its interface remains a little wonky at the best of times, its DVR features are just coming into their own and costs can rack up fast if you want to watch anything beyond the basics.

GTX 1050 Ti Battle: Acer Aspire VX 15 (VX5-591G) vs HP Omen 15 – gaming notebooks on a budget

We continue with the comparisons between the best current budget gaming notebooks. A few days back we compared the HP Omen 15 with the Lenovo legion Y520 and now it is time to see how the Omen 15 stack up to Acer Aspire VX 15 (VX5-591G).

Both models are equipped with the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card which is just what you need to get into the gaming world. We will check their performance, build quality and other vital specification to help you choose the right device for yourself.

Design and construction

Starting off with the construction, both models are solely made out of plastic. This is no surprise considering the budget but the Omen 15 is a bit more expensive than the Aspire VX 15 so we would have appreciated an aluminum lid at least. Unfortunately, neither of them surprises us with a solid build.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (2017 – gen 2) Review

  • Kết quả hình ảnh cho lenovo thinkpad x1 yoga gen 2

Whether you use it in laptop, tablet or tent mode, Lenovo’s second-generation ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2-in-1 is a productivity powerhouse. This lightweight, 14-inch laptop combines a premium carbon-fibre chassis with a comfortable keyboard, vibrant screen, accurate stylus and long battery life. The 2017 (gen 2) version of the X1 Yoga improves on its excellent predecessor by adding dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, a new retracting keyboard design and a pleasant soft-touch texture. Starting at $1,682 ($1,772 as tested), this 2-in-1 doesn’t come cheap, but business users who want fantastic flexibility and portability will find it worth every penny.

Design

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga (2nd gen) takes Lenovo’s classic raven-black aesthetic and turns up the style dial with a new luxurious soft-touch finish on all of its surfaces, including the palm rest where it increases typing comfort. In a change from the last model’s “Lift n’ Lock” keyboard, the new X1 Yoga’s “Wave Keyboard” has keys which sink down below the base when you rotate the screen past 90 degrees; this is done to prevent accidental typing in tablet mode.

Yu Yureka Black smartphone review: Back in Black

With more and more Chinese smartphone makers making their way into the Indian market, domestic players seem to have faded out from the picture. While some of them have been slipping out ultra-budget handsets every few months, others have tried to up the ante by launching competitively-priced devices.

However, Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures, a popular domestic smartphone brand, decided to sit back for a while and rejig its approach to the handset industry. Dormant for quite some time, the company made a comeback by re-launching its first ever smartphone – the Yu Yureka.

Now known as Yu Yureka Black, the smartphone is Yu Televentures’ first major launch in the past months. The handset is nothing like its predecessor, which came out in 2015. The refresh goes through the smartphone’s design, as well as specifications. It is available on sale starting today via Flipkart in both Matte Black and Chrome Black colour variants.

Fujinon MK50-135mm T2.9 cine lens Hands-on Review

The Fujinon MK50-135mm T2.9 cinema lens is the second in Fujifilm’s new line of MK lenses designed for Super 35 and APS-C cameras. MK lenses are designed to appeal to the emerging production market, offering features and quality typically associated with more expensive cinema lenses at a price point that’s attractive to budget-conscious cinematographers. The MK lenses are based on Fujifilm’s excellent Cabrio line of cinema lenses (which cost $15K and up), and share the same coatings as well as a similar mechanical build, but at a cost just under $4,000 they’re more accessible to a lot of users.

Hands-on: Fujinon MK50-135mm T2.9 cine lens

I reviewed the first MK lens, the MK18-55mm T2.9, a few months ago and really liked it. Since the two lenses are designed to work as a set, they’re basically indistinguishable except for focal length, so if you want to read my detailed thoughts on how the MK lenses perform I recommend reading my earlier review, which for all practical purposes applies to both lenses.

2017 Ford Mustang GT P51 By Roush Performance Review

Roush Performance is no stranger to developing tuning programs for the Ford Mustang. In fact, it’s built a good legacy from it, thanks in part to beauties like the RS3 and Trak Pak kits. This time though, Roush Performance is shaking things up with the P-51, a 727-horsepower behemoth the noted Ford tuner is claiming as the most powerful “re-titled” Mustang creation ever.

It’s hard to disagree with those claims, especially with the added disclaimer of being pre-titled as opposed to most post-titled programs where the output of the P-51 has been exceeded on so many occasions, including some of Roush Performance’s past tuning projects. But the P-51 is coming off the Roush production lot as a brand new Mustang that’s already been fitted with the kit, power upgrades and all. On top of that, it also features extensive aero upgrades on the exterior, a dressed-up interior, and the whole cache of being inspired by the iconic P-51 Mustang fighter planes that played big roles during the second World War. It’s taken a while for Roush Performance to present the full-blown P-51 Mustang after first releasing a sneak peek at the 2106 SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas last year. Turns out, the tuner was onto something with this creation and now that it’s out, we can at least say that it was worth the wait.

Skullcandy Smokin’ Buds 2 Wireless review

In a break from making headphones that try to damage your eardrums with bass, Skullcandy has made a wireless version of its Smokin’ Buds 2 earphones.

They’re not the last word in audio finesse, and they certainly won’t knock the Sennheiser Momentum In-ear Wireless off our Christmas wish list. But they are a solidly enjoyable listen, and excellent value at just £35.

Build and comfort

The Skullcandy Smokin’ Buds 2 Wireless are similar to the Method Wireless. Both are wireless neckband headphones, but their designs are a little different.

This pair’s band is much chunkier, but the cabling can be removed – disrobe the Skullcandy Smokin’ Buds 2 Wireless and they’re much slighter.

Surface Book vs MacBook Pro (13.3-inch with Touch Bar) : Why Microsoft Wins

Creatives have a tough choice to make. Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro is now more powerful than ever with its 7th-generation processor, but Microsoft’s gunning for it. The Surface Book invites artists and designers in with its amazing stylus, beautiful touch screen and the ability to remove the display to use it as a tablet.

surfacebook_macbook_lead_v1

So which one should you get? Let’s break it down.

Editor’s Note: This page was updated on June 23 to include the new 2017 MacBook Pro. Check back for further updates if Microsoft announces changes to the Surface Book.

Design

The MacBook Pro isn’t reinventing the wheel, but it’s still a beauty in both silver and space gray. It’s just 0.6 inches thick and, at 3 pounds, extremely light. Apple has also refined its logo over the past few years, and it no longer glows.

2018 BMW R nineT Urban G/S Review – First Ride

The only thing better than producing a hit might be producing one by accident. BMW knew the R nineT was a cool bike they hoped the younger set would like, but they claim to be surprised by just how successful it’s been. They didn’t really corral as many bearded millennials as they’d hoped, since their numbers tell them the average nineT buyer is 49 years old and as wealthy as the typical K1600 buyer. But maybe that’s because that first 2013 R nineT was a $15,000 motorcycle?

Since then, they’ve been working to bring that price down to a more affordable place. Putting “Scrambler” in a bike’s title is another good sales tool lately, and the R nineT Scrambler got its priced trimmed to $13k via a few cost-cutting moves, such as using a steel tank instead of an aluminum one, less-expensive suspension, etc.

olloclip Macro Pro Lens Set Review: Up Close and Personal

Want to take a closer look at small things? The olloclip Macro Pro lens set is the way to go. This set of two lenses, clip, stand and instafocus hood allows you to zoom in on the smallest things, with macro magnifications of 7x, 14x and 21x.  Combine that with the digital zoom of the iPhone camera app, and you can get a lot closer.

The addition here from the other olloclip systems is the instafocus macro focus hood, which clips on the front of the lens. Attach this and put the target object underneath, and it holds the phone at the right distance to keep the object in focus. The translucent plastic lets in a nice soft, even light to illuminate the object.

It works as long as the object is flat (like the surface of a piece of wood), keeping it nicely in the short-focus range of the macro setup and holding the camera steady. The hood doesn’t work as well with 3D objects like flowers or bugs, though; anything more than a few millimeters tall will go out of focus. Macro lenses are difficult to focus, as the depth of field is very short; this is especially true with the 21x macro lens, because the larger the macro zoom, the smaller the depth of focus.

Focal Spark Wireless in-ear headphone review: Audiophile sound at a budget price

The French manufacturer’s in-ear-headphones will bathe you in intoxicating audiophile sound and a smart set of accessories without breaking your budget. And they won’t fall off while you run.

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Focal Spark

Great sound without wires sums up these slick, stylish, and budget-priced wireless headphones from the French speaker and headphone builder, Focal.

Many years ago, I listened to a pair of stylish but very expensive tower speakers at a Hi-Fi store in the Boston area. I wasn’t intimately familiar with the French high-end speaker manufacturer Focal (pronounced Fo-CAL) then, but I never forgot the spell-binding sound those speakers produced. Focal is now turning its attention to the mainstream in-ear headphone market with the Spark and Spark Wireless.

PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X: how do they compare?

Ahead of a full-on head-to-head review, we line Sony’s PS4 Pro up against Microsoft’s brand-new Xbox One X…

Since 4K first launched, 4K TVs have become more affordable, availability of content has increased thanks to streaming, Ultra HD Blu-rays and 4K Blu-ray playersfrom LG, Oppo, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony.

Following behind are 4K games consoles. The Xbox One S arrived with support for 4K video but doesn’t support 4K games – for that, we will have to wait until November 2017 for Microsoft to release Xbox One X.

Sony’s PS4 Pro finds itself between the two Microsoft consoles. Like Xbox One S it’s capable of 4K HDR video. But whereas the One S can’t play games in 4K, some smaller PS4 Pro games will be in native 4K, with the majority likely to be upscaled to 2160p.

olloclip Core Lens Set Review: Versatile and Compact

When it comes to iPhone lens kits, olloclip is one of the more established brands, and its latest Core lens set for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus lives up to the company’s well-earned reputation.

The olloclip Core lens set consists of three parts: the clip, the lenses and a stand. The clip fits onto the iPhone body (versions for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are included), and two lenses click into place in a cavity in this clip, holding them in place in front of the phone cameras.

One neat trick here is that you can use both the front and back cameras, because the clip can hold one lens on either side of the camera body, over both the front and back cameras. The clip is reversible, too. The Core Lens Set includes a fish-eye lens and a super-wide lens, both of which increase the viewing angle of the iPhone camera.

The stand is a simple, but effective, foldout plastic stand that can hold the camera while you’re shooting. When you aren’t using the system, the clip can be attached to the stand, which can in turn be clipped onto a belt or key ring. This makes for a quite portable set of lenses.

Cherry Mobile Flare P1 Plus Full Review

Cherry Mobile has been trying to introduce the dual camera system to the mass market. After the Flare P1, there’s a larger and better variant dubbed as the Flare P1 Plus. Can this handset properly sell the new trend among smartphones? Here’s our review.

Design and Construction

The Flare P1 Plus has a 5.5-inch display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels or simply Full HD. It’s a sharp display compared to other phones in its range. The phone appears pretty tall as well due to the slim bezel on the sides. Above the panel is the 8-megapixel selfie camera along with its own LED flash, the earpiece, and front sensors. Below are three capacitive keys for UI navigation and they don’t light up.

Best small automatic cars 2017 (and the ones to avoid)

There are lots of great small cars on sale, but if you want one with an automatic gearbox, then your choice is rather more limited. It’s not so much that small automatic cars aren’t available, but more that many of them aren’t very good.

That said, there are still some small cars that are every bit as impressive with an automatic gearbox as they are with a manual. Here we count down our top 10, and also name the models that are best avoided.

Best hybrid smartwatches 2017 UPDATE : Nokia, Fossil, Mondaine and more

Helping you pick a traditional watch with added smarts

What’s the difference between a smartwatch and a smart analogue watch? They might sound like the same thing, but there’s a way to tell the two apart from each other.

A hybrid smartwatch blurs traditional watch designs with contemporary fitness tracking and notification tech. You won’t see full touchscreen displays like you get on Android Wear watches or the Apple Watch, and you certainly won’t have to deal with a couple of days of battery life, that’s for sure. Those smarts are added in a more discreet and elegant way.

Whether you’re style obsessed or want something that’s good at tracking your steps without hammering the battery, here’s our pick of the top smart analogue watches to get around your wrist.

Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe UX490UA Review

The Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe is a $1,699 ultraportable with enough style to walk the red carpet. The metallic blue-and-gold laptop is slim, sleek and stunning, wowing everyone I showed it to. The 14-inch Ultrabook also benefits from a vivid display and a comfortable keyboard. But if you get close to this stunner, you can start to see a few of the seams, including below-average battery life and a weak webcam. However, if you can live with a couple of shortcomings, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe will be a high-end laptop you’ll be proud to carry.

Design

Dare I say it? Asus has out-designed Apple. The ZenBook 3 Deluxe is better looking than the MacBook Pro.

The ZenBook 3 Deluxe takes its design cues from its little brother, the original ZenBook 3, and I have no qualms with that It’s one of the most beautiful premium laptops on the market. The aluminum navy-blue lid uses Asus’ trademark concentric circles with a golden logo. Along the edge of the lid, you’ll find a gold accent.

Ease of Use

By way of example with regard to how long the gaps have got between one generation of a camera and the next, we examined the new, toughened Olympus TG-5’s predecessor the TG-4 way back in July 2015. At one time, six months between updates was the norm – a two-year gap would have been unheard of, and long enough for anyone paying attention to surmise the series had simply been shelved.

Soundcast VG7 outdoor Bluetooth speaker review: A wonderful speaker, indoors or out

Yes, you’ll experience sticker shock. But it’s been nearly 10 years since we’ve heard a powered, portable, outdoor speaker as good as this one,

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Soundcast VG7 outdoor Bluetooth speaker

Soundcast was building great wireless speakers while the powers behind Bluetooth were struggling to find a use for the technology. In the nearly 10 years since I reviewed the company’s Outcast, I haven’t found a better powered, portable outdoor speaker. The Soundcast VG7 comes very close.

The VG7 does, of course, rely on Bluetooth—with support for the aptX codec and NFC for quick and easy pairing to boot. The Outcast came with an external iPod dock that had Soundcast’s proprietary wireless technology built in. The dock also had a 3.5mm analog audio input that I’ve always plugged a Sonos Connect into—effectively converting the Outcast into the outdoor Sonos speaker Sonos stubbornly refuses to build.

Gigabyte P57Xv7 Review

Who says you can’t have it all? Or at least close to it. The 17.3-inch Gigabyte P57Xv7 (starting at $1,599, or $1,999 as reviewed) combines graphics might and portability into a stylish chassis. Powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GPU, the P57Xv7 can do it all: gaming, productivity and VR. However, with less than 3 hours of battery life, you might want to keep your gaming travels local.

Design

It looks like Gigabyte is taking a few pages from its sister brand, Aorus. The P57Xv7 isn’t the hulking mass of plastic that I’m used to seeing from a 17-inch desktop replacement. Instead, the P57Xv7 is all clean, delicate lines with a dollop of color for good measure. The black plastic lid is devoid of any real decoration outside of the gleaming, chrome Gigabyte emblem at the center. But it’s those subtle touches I really appreciate, like the pair of darts at the bottom of the lid or how the top of the lid forms into a rounded point like an arrowhead worn down by time.
