First impression : Michael Kors x Fujifilm Instax Mini 70

High fashion meets the lo-fi (but super-popular!) Fuji instant camera world with the Michael Kors Mini 70

Fuji Instax cameras are all the rage these days, and are selling like hotcakes as the old familiar saying goes. They’re selling so well in fact that Fuji has partnered with famous fashion designer Michael Kors to introduce a sleek and sexy model known as theMichael Kors x Fujifilm Instax Mini 70.

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Michael Kors Mini 70

As you may have noted in an article we posted last year, the popularity trend of this instant camera line has taken on an exponential sales growth pace over the past few years, thus allowing this simple instant film camera to out-sell even its popular X-Series digital siblings. While the line has been around since the late 1990’s and has grown steadily through the years at a nice pace for the company, it’s only been the past few years that have seen a relative sonic boom in worldwide sales. Thus the impetus we suppose (and the deep pockets) for teaming up with a famous fashion designer for this new model.

Hands on: DJI Mavic Pro review

When most people think of drones they usually imagine a big, scary, four-armed miniature helicopter. However, drone makers in 2016 have introduced smaller and more portable quad-copters, like the GoPro Karma and Yuneec Breeze.

Now DJI is introducing its smallest, smartest and most approachable drone yet, the Mavic Pro. With the ability to fold up into a water bottle-sized package and a starting price of $749 (about £575, AU$980), this tiny drone comes priced right and with all the smart features of DJI’s other models – plus a few new ones to boot.

Samsung UE55KS8000 UHD 4K TV Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Samsung UE55KS8000 UHD 4K TV

What is the Samsung KS8000?

The KS8000 is Samsung’s top flat screen TV for 2016 and is essentially the same as the company’s other flagship edge-lit model the KS9000. The only real difference between the two TVs, aside from the shape of the screen, is that the KS9000 includes the Auto Depth Enhancer feature, which only applies to the manufacturer’s curved models. In all other respects the two TVs are identical, so which one you choose will depend on how you feel about curves. If you prefer your TV flat, then the KS8000 could very well be the choice for you. The UE55KS8000 retails for £1,599/$2,398 as at the time of writing (September 2016) and since we were so impressed by theUE55KS9000 we reviewed earlier in the year, we have high expectations. Let’s find out if those expectations are met…

Starmobile Play Max Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Starmobile Play Max Review

Announced last month, the Starmobile Play Max is one of the latest devices from the local brand that bear a 5-inch display, modest specs, and a 4,000mAh battery capacity. It’s said to be one for the budget-conscious, and touts to last a lot longer than devices with similar battery packs. Here is our full review.

Design and Construction

The Play Max mixes its affair with polycarbonate and brushed metal finishes all over. Its corners are not too boxy, but not too curvy either. At the front is the 5-inch display presented with a decent amount of bezels at 67 percent screen-to-body ratio, along with the front call speaker, the proximity sensor, and the 5-megapixel rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. The buttons at the bottom are capacitive and do not emit light when in operation.

Best Drones 2016

Drones aren’t just for paparazzi and film crews anymore. A simple beginner’s model can cost less than $100, with camera drones starting at a few hundred dollars. More complex drones, starting at less than $1,000, offer customizable and programmable features, turning them into truly autonomous devices that can make their own decisions. Plus, a new class of racing drones has started hitting the scene.

Among all the drones launching this fall, one of the more notable is the GoPro Karma. While the company’s excellent action camera has long been used in a number of drones, such as the 3D Robotics Solo (our favorite drone for pros), the $800 Karma, due out in October, is its first flying machine, and features a foldable design, removable gimbal, and an app that lets friends view—and control—the video feed from the camera.

Plantronics Rig 600 Review : Killer Versatility

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Plantronics Rig 600

Plantronics RIG 400, RIG 800 and RIG 600 Gaming Headphones Headset

For a headset coated in black and gold, the $99 Plantronics Rig 600 is surprisingly basic. That’s not entirely a bad thing — its 40mm drivers offer excellent audio out of the box, and its lightweight and cozy design makes it ideal for long hours of play. It even packs swappable cables that allow it to work effortlessly with game consoles, mobile devices and PCs. While it lacks audio customization and 7.1 surround sound, the Rig 600 is an enticing value for anyone seeking a no-frills headset that sounds great with just about any device.

Asus ROG Strix (GL50VS-DB71) Review

Asus’ ROG Strix was already a gaming beast, nabbing a vaunted 4 stars in a previous review. But with its latest refresh, the Strix GL50VS-DB71, the $1,699 notebook is gunning for the top of the gaming-laptop mountain. Armed with its new Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU, the 15-inch Strix is now lean, mean and oh, so VR-ready. However, a short battery life and a few other issues keep the Strix from ascending to gaming-laptop glory.

Design

I’m still not sold on the whole nuclear-orange and black motif the Strix has going. But if I put my hue-based prejudices aside, I can admit that it is a handsome machine. The matte-black, brushed-aluminum is stately despite the nearly glowing neon-orange emblem and accompanying darts. Toward the back of the lid is an understated Republic of Gamers logo. The top of the lid is made of black, brushed plastic.

Devialet Gold Phantom hands on review

Devialet is back with a new addition to its Phantom range of wireless speakers, the Devialet Gold Phantom. Following in the footsteps of the original Phantom and the Silver Phantom, this speaker promises to be the “pinnacle” of the company’s high-end wireless speaker range.

The French company has made a big name for itself in a relatively short space of time. Initially it was with the Devialet D-Premier, a feature-packed amplifier that showcased a stunning, innovative design and the company’s ADH audio technology. ADH combined Class A and Class D amplification in an effort to deliver the best of both sonic worlds. And deliver it did.

A three-strong range of upgraded products followed and proved equally impressive. The entry-level Devialet 110 eased its way to a five-star verdict, though at £4,490/$6,735, the Devialet club remained an expensive one to join. The Phantom wireless speaker range aimed to change that.

Nest Cam Outdoor Review

Streaming security cameras are probably the most popular gadget in the connected home, and Nest the best known today. After a fairly slow start after its Dropcam acquisition in 2014, Nest finally has an outdoor model, the unimaginatively titled Nest Cam Outdoor. Like the Nest Cam – designed for indoor use – it’s $199.99, though for the full range of features you’ll need to cough up a monthly or annual subscription.

Setup proved straightforward. Nest advises plugging in the camera indoors and connecting it to your WiFi before you mount it outside, and then the app guides you through positioning it and – vitally – making sure you have a strong enough wireless signal in your chosen location. I had an odd glitch where, after plugging it in the second time, the camera’s green light came on suggesting it was connected but the setup preview didn’t load; however, I could see the stream fine from the app’s regular view.

PlayStation Vue vs. Sling TV : Face-Off

Suppose you’re ready to get rid of a restrictive, expensive cable package, but not quite ready to give up a variety of live channels at your fingertips. Cable-replacement services like Sling TV ($20 per month and up) and PlayStation Vue ($50 per month and up) are here to split the difference. More versatile but more expensive than a strictly on-demand service like Netflix, PS Vue and Sling TV combine the comforting versatility of channel surfing with the convenience of accessing what you want, when you want.

Between optional channel packages, varying device compatibility, vastly different pricing structures and two distinct approaches to user interfaces, the choice between Sling TV and PS Vue is anything but straightforward. You probably don’t need both services, so read on to find out which one will fill the cable- or satellite-shaped void in your heart.

Waltham AeroNaval AN-01 43mm Watch Hands-On

The still newly relaunched Waltham watch brand recently released their second major model family with the Waltham AeroNaval AN-01 43mm collection. Smaller and lower-priced than the brand’s beefier 47mm-wide AeroNaval collection (aBlogtoWatch review here), the Waltham AeroNaval AN-01 43mm also comes in a range of colors that offers a personality-rich and masculine answer to those looking for something a little bit out of the ordinary but still interesting and maturely designed.

waltham-aeronaval-an-01-43mm-ablogtowatch-03

While certainly not cheap, the debut watches of today’s Waltham brand had a distinct coolness, mixing video-game era futuristic looks with a refined European design and high-quality materials that prevented them from looking like well-made movie props. At about 3mm smaller than their larger, slightly more complicated relatives, the Waltham AeroNaval AN-01 43mm models do tend to wear better on more wrists. The cases haven’t just been reduced from the roughly 47mm-wide AeroNaval collection, but are also redesigned with a new shape all around. You’ll notice a prominent 12-sided outer bezel and an overall design clearly meant to emphasize strong angles and hard lines.

Nyrius WS54 Hands-on Review : Wireless HD for the Whole House

As more and more devices become wireless, it seems that it should be easier to connect together all the TVs in the house without the mess of cables. Truth is that it’s not as simple as it seems. The new Nyrius WS54 (MSRP: $170) makes it about as simple as it can be. Plus, it works in a challenging situation where many other systems have failed.

Okay, I’ll admit this: I still have cable in my home. There are some shows that I can only get on cable, and for simplicity, it still can’t be beat. However, I refuse to pay up for an additional receiver to watch TV in other rooms in my house. And therein lies the problem: how do I get the signal from the cable box in my home theater to other TVs throughout the house? Add to that issue the fact that my home is multiple levels and built out of solid reinforced concrete. So far, I’ve tried two other systems to get an HD signal to a TV set up in my kitchen/breakfast nook. Neither one came close to getting the signal there.

Best Gaming Monitors 2016

When it comes to gaming, your display matters. A good gaming monitor will not only provide enough color and brightness to immerse you in your favorite titles but also will be smooth and responsive enough to ensure that you always play at your best. For competitive gamers, having the right monitor can mean the difference between making a game-winning headshot and losing it all.

Of the monitors we’ve reviewed and tested, we’ve found the BenQ XL2420G to be the most impressive premium option, thanks to its rich picture quality, fast response times and wealth of useful features. BenQ’s RL2455HM is better for those on a budget, while Acer’s B286HK is an excellent choice for folks looking to game in 4K.

ATC C1 5.1 review

Every now and then precedent counts for very little, if anything; listen to almost every great band’s third or fourth album. Thankfully for ATC, and our eardrums, its C1 surround speaker package does a distinguished family proud.

The set-up comprises four ATC SCM7s, which are standmounter monitors, each sporting a 25mm soft-dome tweeter and 12.5cm mid/bass driver, a C1C centre to match (though with a pair of those mid/bass drivers), and the C1 subwoofer boasting an impressive 31cm, down-firing bass driver.

NAD C 368 review

The design of NAD’s stereo amplifiers hasn’t altered much down the years.

For its Digital series, the Canadian brand strayed a little from its traditional blueprint of black, brown or grey boxes – the D 1050 and Award-winning D 3020 signalled a move to more compact, contemporary casings (think wireless router with a rotary dial) – but the full-width box returns for NAD’s new Classic series, of which the C 368 sits right in the middle.

They aren’t built on an ‘original’ model or any predecessors, instead the C 368 has been ‘designed from the ground up’ to deliver enhanced features and performance while reducing power consumption.

Comparison : Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe v BMW 430i

Despite not having any kids, I tell as many dad jokes as James Ward – who is the father of one – and, we both like Holden Camiras. This should help you understand why we’re barely the last word on style, especially in the Melbourne CarAdvice office – we leave that for newcomer James Wong.

Comparison: Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe v BMW 430i

Our collective style score quadrupled the day we jetted off for a drive around the bay in the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe and the BMW 430i. We were about to experience the life of a person that owns a ‘non-performance’ variant of a sports car.

Before we set off, we weren’t sure what to expect. We didn’t think that these two cars would have the same street cred as their muscly siblings, let alone be as enjoyable to drive through a set of bends. Their muscly siblings are of course ones with AMG and M badges – cars that treat rear tyres like well-used primary school erasers.
