Leema Acoustics Quasar All-in-One System Review : The name is celestial but is the Quasar a star?

Leema Acoustics Quasar All-in-One System Review

What is the Leema Acoustics Quasar?

The Leema Acoustics Quasar is – according to Leema at least – an integrated amplifier with on board streaming module. For those of us who are a bit broader in our definitions, this represents Leema’s first foray into the business of making an all-in-one streaming system.

Should you be waking from a Rip Van Winkle-esque slumber and deciding that this particular review is how you want to kick off your newly regained consciousness, you need to know that this category is an increasingly hotly contested one. Ever since Naim and Linn in particular began to demonstrate that there was a demand for such a device, the interest of other manufacturers has been piqued. When CD began to fall away as a ‘must have’ fitment, it meant that the packaging for these systems became simpler and this increased demand further.

Nikon D7500 vs D5600 – Comparison

Here is a quick comparison and review for the Nikon D7500 vs D5600 DSLR cameras. Below you can find the differences of these mid-range cameras with APS-c sized image sensors.

The first difference between these two cameras is the sensor size. Nikon D7500 uses the same 20.9MP sensor with no optical low pass filter as the D500, as well as its Expeed 5 image processor. This new processor is 30% faster than the Expeed 4 processor in the D5600, a speed advantage that gives the D7500 for the features like burst speed, buffer depth, video capability and native ISO sensitivity.

Let’s have a brief look at the main features of Nikon D7500 vs D5600. So what may be the main differences when consider their specs list?

ZTE Blade L5 Review : ultra-budget smartphone for unpretentious users

The production of cheap smartphones is handled by many Chinese manufacturers. Buy large companies are in no hurry to join the competition in this niche. However, periodically they also release cheap devices, at a price of up to $100. One of these devices was introduced in April 2016 – ZTE Blade L5. Now you can buy a smartphone for $75-80.

Review ZTE Blade L5: ultra-budget smartphone for unpretentious users

A low price tag corresponds to the equipment level of the device. There is nothing outstanding in it. It is a typical ultra budget smartphone with the parameters of a basic level. Hold on to the market, which presents various Doogee, UMI, Oukitel, offering for the same money stuffing is more serious, it is not easy. Our review ZTE Blade L5 helps you to know more about smartphone.

Propel Atom 1.0 Micro Drone Hands-on Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Propel Atom 1.0 Micro Drone

Drones are getting more and more popular these days with the Mavic Pro from DJI and the Karma from GoPro taking a lot of attention lately. However, these are enthusiast level drones and are on the expensive end of the toy category.

For those who want to start small and affordable, the Propel Atom 1.0 micro-drone can be a good start.

The Propel Atom 1.0 has been around in other regions for quite some time and only recently brought into the Philippines at a much more affordable price. This tiny quadcopter features a set of four propellers with tri-blades for better lift and stability.

The micro-drone comes with its own remote controller (2.4GHz) and a few more extra blades so you can quickly replace them whenever the original one crashes and breaks.

Ford Ranger Wildtrak v Toyota HiLux TRD comparison

This really is the battle of the big guns – the most expensive versions of the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux, fighting for the title of the sportiest lifestyle ute.

They’re both more popular than any SUV on the market, with buyers choosing these high-riding, five-seat vehicles to get around even if they don’t use the tray for its intended purpose.

Ford Ranger Wildtrak v Toyota HiLux TRD comparison

These two vehicles aim to cash in on that trend. Both are the high-end offerings in their respective model ranges, with the Ford Ranger Wildtrak having been around for quite some time, while the newly added Toyota HiLux TRD (or Toyota HiLux SR5 with TRD accessories, as the company labels it) having just arrived on the scene.

These two are shopped by tradies and foremen alike, as well as white-collar types who want to look like they know their way around a worksite.

Zyxel PLA5236KIT AC900 Powerline Wireless Extender kit review

zyxelpla5236kit-3

If you need to bring internet to that far corner of your sprawling home and don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a Wi-Fi system like the Google Wifi or the TP-Link Deco M5, you should definitely consider the Zyxel PLA5236KIT Powerline AC900 1000 Mbps Wireless Extender kit. It does basically the job of a mesh system, extending your home network farther with relative ease, but at a much lower cost of about $85 (coverted, about £65 or AU$110).

The kit’s performance isn’t great and it can be a bit challenging for novices to set up, but if you have some patience and just want to quickly share internet access, it gets the job done. If your house is already wired with network cables, it’s better to get a standalone access point instead.

Samsung Q9F QLED TV review

Just when you thought the AV world must have run out of confusing acronyms, Samsung has decided to hit you with another one: QLED.

While Samsung hasn’t trademarked the QLED name, leaving it open for use by any brand that employs Quantum Dot technology in its screens, the QDs used in Samsung’s own QLED TVs are uniquely encased in a new metal alloy sheath. This enables them to produce a wider colour range and more of the brightness and contrast that have become such key picture requirements in the high dynamic range (HDR) age.

Add to all this promising QLED technology a new screen filtering system claimed to do an unprecedentedly good job of soaking up ambient light, and it’s fair to say the Q9F talks one heck of a good talk. As it really needs to considering the 65-inch version of the screen costs £4,899 in the UK, and $5,999 in the US.

And finally : Alphabet’s Verily shows off health-focused Study Watch

It’s been a strange week. Huawei’s CEO revealed that he’s not a big fan of smartwatches despite just launching the Huawei Watch 2. Then we learned that Fitbit is having both hardware and software problems producing its much-rumored smartwatch. And in other problematic news, Samsung confirmed that Bixby will be delayed by a bit.

On the plus side, there were three new device announcements this week, with the Garmin Vivosmart 3, the Misfit Flare and the ZTE Quartz smartwatch all breaking cover. We also learned that Fitbit is making a pair of bluetooth headphones that sit around your neck, though we don’t know if there are any other functions.

But that’s not all. There was more that went on this week, and if you need an even bigger news fix be sure to head on over to our dedicated news page.

ASUS ZenBook UX430U Hands-on Unboxing, Initial Review : A Very Welcome Change

Taking a Break from Gaming Notebooks

While John is putting the extremely powerful (and expensive) ASUS ROG GX800 for a go, we also received another notebook from the Taiwanese company before the start of the Holy Week break and it’s a welcome change from the last laptop I personally reviewed — the ASUS ROG Strix VL753VE.  Today, we’re going to be unboxing and having a look at the ASUS ZenBook UX430UA; a notebook that has the form factor of a 13-inch laptop that’s hiding a 14-inch display. Let’s have a look at its spec sheet before jumping into our initial impressions.

JVC DLA-Z1 4K Laser Projector Review : JVC finally deliver native 4K and laser but at what cost?

What is the JVC Z1?

Over the last decade JVC have been quietly carving out a niche for themselves in the projector market with a range of machines that are famous for delivering the best black levels and contrast ratios around. The DLA-X7000 is a good example of how far JVC have pushed their bulb-based projectors with eShift to add a higher resolution experience from 4K sources, a wider colour gamut and even support for High Dynamic Range (HDR). However until now none of JVC’s projectors have actually been native 4K, leaving that area of the market exclusively to Sony and models like their VPL-VW550ES. That is until now because with the arrival of the DLA-Z1 JVC now have a native 4K projector of their own.

If that wasn’t enough it also uses a blue laser light source which promises increased brightness, longer life and greater consistency compared to the traditional bulb. The new projector also includes active shutter 3D, a very wide colour gamut and support for HDR 10 and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) which means it should be able to handle whatever content you’re watching apart from Dolby Vision.

6 Reasons I’m Buying the Galaxy S8 Over the Pixel and LG G6

Every day, the Tom’s Guide team offers tons of advice on which products to buy, which ones to avoid and which ones to shoot on sight. What we talk about less often, though, are the devices we fork over our own hard-earned cash for. Since I’m about to upgrade my phone after two years, it’s time for me to put my money where my mouth is (and maybe help others decide on what to buy): So here’s why I’m planning on picking up the new Samsung Galaxy S8.

Illustration: Tom's Guide

Back in April 2015, I finally upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge after using multiple iPhones and an HTC One. And over those  two years, my S6 Edge has treated me well, surviving repeated abuse both from demanding workloads and a life spent outside of a protective case. However, there’s still no cure for old age, and with my S6 Edge’s deteriorating battery life, declining processor and outdated features (such as a micro USB port), I’m ready to move on.

Dell Ultrasharp 24 review

dell-ultrasharp-24-04

Dell doesn’t seem to retire any of its Ultrasharp 24 monitors. It’s still actively selling its models from as far back as 2012, which means there are four generations availablesimultaneously: the U2412M (2012), U2413 (2013), U2415 (2015) and the most recent U2417H. If each generation built on the previous, it wouldn’t be such a confusing line, but that’s not how it works. For example, the 2013 model has the largest color gamut (99 percent Adobe RGB) with a slightly higher-than-FHD resolution of 1,920×1,200, while the more recent 2017 model has a smaller color gamut of 99 percent sRGB and standard FHD 1,920×1,080 resolution. That’s why the older model is more expensive. The U2417H introduced the company’s narrow-bezel InfinityEdge design to the series, though, so while it can’t compete with that model for color-critical work, within its limits it delivers excellent accuracy for watching movies, shopping and so on at its price while looking nicer than the rest.

Alfa Romeo Giulia QV v BMW M3 Competition v Mercedes-AMG C63 S Comparisons

For a nation renowned for its love of all things sport, it should come as no surprise this admiration and aspiration extends to what we drive.

We are inside the top-10 world sales market list for Lamborghini, Porsche is seeing continuing sales growth and both Mercedes-AMG and BMW M Division speak highly of the Australian market, where we have the highest performance-version to regular-model ratio in the world.

Alfa Romeo Giulia QV v BMW M3 Competition v Mercedes-AMG C63 S

And for many buyers, who reach a point in their driving life where a mid-size executive sedan is the right car for right now, the option of spending a bit more to get the sporty one seems like a pretty simple game of connecting the dots.

But let’s face it, despite having over 400 horses pounding away beneath leather and Alcantara, a day of churning up a winding ribbon of deserted, highlands tarmac is the exception rather than the rule.

RJ Armadillo Bluetooth Speakers Quick Review

The Best Laptops and Tablets from China up to $200

Yesterday we talked about smartphones from Xiaomi, which can be safely recommended for purchase. Today we will talk about laptops and tablets ala 2-in-1. I’ll tell you what device I bought for myself. Moreover, I will share a couple or three of great deals. All devices from China and with the best price-quality ratio.

The Best Laptops and Tablets from China up to $200

Laptops

Let’s start with the coolest, in my opinion, device – Jumper EZbook 3. It is a 14-inch laptop with Full HD resolution, a full-size keyboard and a new Intel Apollo Lake N3350 processor.

Personally, I ordered this device because I needed good, working machine on Windows 10. In order for the device to be light, with a normal screen (the diagonal and resolution ratio is excellent), so it was inexpensive and worked on a new processor. Still, I wonder what Intel invented there at the end of last year. It is interesting to assess how all this will work.

Nikon D7500 vs Nikon D500 : Which is better for you?

The launch of the D7500 presents an interesting quandary for camera buyers: should I buy the D500 or save some money and get the D7500?

D7500 vs D500

We’ll look at the differences between the two, to help illuminate the question for you. Which one is ‘best’ will be a choice for you, of course, since it’ll depend on what you shoot and what you need.

Image quality

With the same sensor and the same generation of processing, there’s no reason to expect there to be any difference in image quality between the D7500 and D500. The 20MP sensor in the D500 is very good (albeit not significantly different from the D7200’s chip, when viewed at the same size), and Nikon knows a fair bit about generating JPEGs.

Dell Latitude 5280 Review

The 12-inch Dell Latitude 5280 is a great choice for frequent business travelers. Not only does it fit in smaller luggage, but it also has fantastic battery life, which allows you to leave the power cord at home. The Latitude 5280’s speedy 7th Gen Kaby Lake CPU enables solid performance, and its comfortable keyboard allows for tons of typing. A dim default display and warm skin temperatures keep Dell’s laptop from a higher rating, but if you’re looking for a durable, reliable machine, the Latitude 5280 should definitely be on your list.

Design

Dell kept things simple with the 5280’s design. The notebook’s matte-black, carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer shell looks and feels sturdy, and its polycarbonate keyboard deck provides a comfortable area for your wrists to rest while you’re typing.

Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Review : Good But Not Great

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR

Suunto’s latest GPS watch, the Spartan Sport Wrist HR, looks a lot like the Spartan Ultra watch that the company released last year, down to the silicone straps and large, clear display — but  the Spartan Sport Wrist HR adds a heart rate monitor and costs $200 less. This watch, designed for triathletes, is also going head-to-head against similar watches from Garmin, such as the Forerunner 735XT and the new Forerunner 935. But although the Spartan Sport Wrist HR has some good features, it doesn’t quite compare to its rivals.

A sporty, comfortable design

The Spartan Sport Wrist HR comes in three colors: black, “sakura” and blue. Additional bands are available for $59.95 apiece. At first, I found the blue too bright, but the color grew on me. It was a nice contrast to the many all-black watches I’ve worn.

Doogee Shoot 1 Review : Chinese smartphone with two cameras

In 2016 we expect from smartphones large batteries, and manufacturers began to get rid of the headphone jacks. In 2017, the trend seems to have become the two cameras. They are at the end of last year and early this released abound – here Oukitel U20 , Bluboo Dual , Xiaomi Mi5S Plus, LeEco Cool 1 Dual , in general, as in “polite society”, and in all understand that the two cameras of the Chinese smartphone environment – this is what you need. Well, at least for sales.

2015 – 2017 Suzuki Boulevard M90 Review

Do you ever wonder why folks tend to consider the music that was popular when they were teens and early adults as “their music?” Similarly, people tend to freeze their fashion sense at some early-adult stage in life. Fashion, like music, comes in cycles; so whatever we like, if we wait long enough, it comes back in style. The same could be said for what folks gravitate toward when deciding what looks stylish when picking what they drive or ride. Around the turn of the century, the cruiser style had evolved into fat tires, lots of chrome, wide bodies and pegs out front to give you that almost slouched, relaxed riding posture. Since then, cruiser style has cycled back to “old school” — they’ve lost some weight and slimmed down, creating a low and lean version of a sport look. If your vision of what a cruiser should be is stuck in the fat tires and wide body — think of it as “old new-school” — you might want to look at the Suzuki Boulevard M90.

Polk Signa S1 review

“You get what you pay for” still has meaning, but some companies are now working to attract the entry-level home theater shopper with cheap products that actually sound good too.

polk-omni-sb-1-soundbar-02

We were impressed by the performance of the Yamaha YAS-106, a $200 (or around £160 or AU$260) sound bar without a sub, and were keen to see the appearance of the Polk Signa S1. Here was an even cheaper $180 sound bar with a sub!

The Polk Signa 1 isn’t the world’s best sound bar, it’s true, but for the money it does pretty much everything you need a speaker to do. It will make movies sound like movies, not the ham radio broadcast you’re used to from your TV’s speaker, and as a bonus it sounds really good with music too.

Of course spending more money for the step-up Polk MagniFi Mini will get you better performance, but both of these models demonstrate that the sweet spot is coming down in price. With the Polk Signa S1 you don’t have to sacrifice much performance or style to meet a tight budget.

Marshall Monitor Bluetooth review

We all hate wires. We may love what they do but if something can go wire-free and still perform its function at the same level then we’re more inclined to want to cut the proverbial noose.

It happened with gaming controllers and it’s happening with sound systems, which explains why Marshall is releasing wireless Bluetooth versions of all its headphones.

CQyd6cFMq2xyHxLUnphmGM-1200-80

Following the re-release of the on-ear Marshall Major II and Marshall MID models, the Marshall Monitor is the first over-ear model to have its wires cut and finally brings Marshall’s top of the line ‘phones into the Bluetooth fold.

The Marshall Monitors were first released as a wired model around 4 years ago and they were generally well received. Though there haven’t been any massive overhauls in terms of design here, the addition of Bluetooth is more than welcome.

2015 – 2017 Yamaha FJ-09 Review

Back in 2014 at the EIMC, Yamaha introduced us to its latest effort to join the ranks of sport-touring motorcycle manufacturers with the 2015 FJ-09. Essentially, the factory took its naked FZ-09 and refined it for longer trips with a front fairing, windshield and expanded pillion seat area, leaving us with a smaller displacement, and less expensive, version of the dual-sport Super Ténéré. Brought forward for 2017, it’s sort of an entry-level model for the adventure bike market, just without any claims of off-road capabilities.

Feedback so far suggests that it makes an outstanding commuter bike, which to me speaks volumes about this ride. Sure, long trips give plenty of opportunities to discover any less-than-desirable characteristics on any given bike, but I submit to you that commuters get even more opportunities to learn about their machines through daily use in traffic situations and inclement weather. I consider the daily grind to be a sort of crucible that separates the wanna-be bikes from the truly capable. Join me as I delve in to see what made this bike so popular in such a short period of time.
