Abarth 124 Spider v Mazda MX-5 comparison

The fact that both the Mazda MX-5 and the Abarth 124 Spider sports cars exist, side-by-side, is a good thing. In fact, they need each other to survive.

You’ve heard it before: the issue with making a sports car is scale. There is a great deal of development cost involved in getting a vision to production and then, because no one really needs sports cars, the return is generally not all that great.

Most manufacturers make sports cars based on their existing platforms (e.g. M3, C63, WRX STI etc), as the costs are significantly lower. So for a (relatively) small manufacturer like Mazda to create a bespoke sports car like the MX-5 in the modern market, it needed support. That came from the Italians, who were keen on reviving the Fiat 124 name. Together, the managed to justify a return on investment that led to the creation of both cars.

Acer Spin 7 Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Acer Spin 7 Review

The race to be the “thinnest laptop” is a never-ending quest, but Acer’s $1,200 Spin 7 is definitely the sveltest of 2-in-1s we’ve ever tested. It boasts a gorgeous, fanless, black aluminum design, exclusively with USB Type-C ports. But the choice to go fanless and use a low-power CPU makes the Spin 7 less powerful than competitors. It also doesn’t last as long on a charge. That makes the Spin 7 a strong choice for those who care most about aesthetics, portability and the latest ports.

Design

The Spin 7 is what a premium 2-in-1 device should feel like. It’s a thin, black block of aluminum with curved edges and clean lines. The lid is decorated solely with Acer’s logo in gray, and the hinges are silver, which helps break up the design a bit. When I opened the lid, I was greeted by a 14-inch, 1080p display with minimal bezels on the sides, an island-style keyboard, a massive glass touchpad and a deck made of the same solid, gorgeous material as the lid.

Hisense HE65K5510 UHD 4K TV Review

What is the Hisense K5510?

The HE65K5510 is a 65-inch mid-range model in the Hisense LED LCD TV range for 2016 and appears to be identical in terms of specifications to the H65M5500 that we reviewed recently. The two TVs use flat Ultra HD 4K panels and include support for High Dynamic Range (HDR), along with a Smart TV platform, superior sound and a high level of build quality. Unlike the M7000 these TVs don’t have local dimming but the features for both TVs are impressive and the only real difference appears to be cosmetic. The 65M5500 uses a silver bezel and the 65K5510 a glossy black one, although both TVs use the same metallic feet. However what really gets your attention is the price and both can currently be picked up for as little as £755/$1132. That’s just incredible for a 65-inch UHD 4K TV with HDR and if the K5510 proves to be at least as good as the M5500 then we might be looking at a real bargain.

25 Worst Gadget Flops of All Time

There are gadgets that change everything (the iPhone, Amazon Echo, Bose’s noise-canceling headphones), and then there are devices that are so spectacularly bad that they should be immortalized in their own way. The last few decades have seen all kinds of flops, from a not-so-world-changing scooter to a phone that literally went up in flames.

Worst Gadget Flops of All Time

To make our list of all-time gadget flops, the product had to do more than fail to execute. It had to have a decent amount of hype behind it — enough to help make that crash and burn all the more memorable. Here are our top 25 worst gadget flops of all time.

The 5 Best and Worst Things About the Google Pixel – What We Like, What We Don’t

The Pixel is easily one of the best phones of 2016, giving Google a device that can go head to head with Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Google Pixel: What We Like, What We Don't

As much as we like the Pixel, though, it’s not perfect. Here’s a quick overview of what we love about the Pixel and what we think Google should work on changing.

The Best No. 1: Google Assistant

Google is the clear leader in search, and now with the Google Assistant, the company is the clear leader in digital assistants, too. Leveraging Google’s huge knowledge base and putting it on the Pixel gives you the speed and accuracy of the search engine you know in an easy-to-use interface. Google Assistant handles multiple languages with aplomb, dishes out directions, books tables at restaurants and more. My only reservation: Given how smart and proficient the Google Assistant is, I think it’s time Google gave it a real name. (Alexa and Siri are taken.)

2018 Ford Expedition Review

Ford worked tirelessly to improve the current F-150 by reducing mass and adding efficient turbocharged engines all mounted on a high-strength steel frame. It’s now likely those same advancements will make their way onto the heavily, if not all-new 2018 Expedition SUV.And as our spy photographer caught, the Expedition is currently in development.

The Expedition has traditionally been based on the F-150, though the relation has grown distant over the last few years. Since the second generation, the Expedition has used an independent rear suspension system rather than the F-150’s solid axle and leaf spring setup. Exterior and interior styling also drifted apart from the F-150 for the second generation, which debuted for the 2003 model year. Nevertheless, the two vehicles have shared a close relationship since the Expedition’s introduction for the 1997 model year.

Acer Iconia One 10 (B3-A30) review

acer-iconia-one-10-6279-001

The $129 Acer Iconia One 10 reminds me of the $50 Amazon Fire tablet ; it’s not good, but it’s good for the price.

It’s a lot cheaper than any iPad and $100 less than another cheap 10-incher, the Amazon Fire HD 10($230), which has the same screen resolution. The $200 Lenovo Tab 2 A10 is the next best thing, offering a sharper screen but not much else.

The Acer’s front-facing speakers are a great addition (since most tablets have them on their edges, making them easy to block) and they sound crisp and clear for movie dialogue. Unfortunately, like most tablets, heavy bass in music sounds muddled.

2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review

The Mercedes entered its third generation when it made its official debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show as a 2015 model. The most important aspect of the third-gen model is by far the new Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform that – by the use of aluminum and high-strength steel – let to a pretty serious weight decrease of 220 pounds over its predecessor. After just a couple of years on the market, Mercedes has been devising a facelift for its resident compact luxury car, and we’ve finally caught it in sedan and wagon form doing some real-world testing. The facelifted model is expected to bring a revised grille, new headlight and taillight units, revised fascias, and some minor updates to the interior that includes a refinement of the infotainment system controls, an S-Class inspired steering wheel, and a revision to the instrument cluster, among other little things.

DirecTV NOW vs Sling TV vs PlayStation Vue: Streaming Showdown

The brave new world of live television is upon us, and it comes in three forms: PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, and DirecTV NOW. Having multiple products to choose from is never a bad thing, but it does require more leg work. Which service has the features you can’t live without? Is there some hard-to-find fine print you should know about? Does the service you’re leaning toward offer the best value for your money? We’ve answered all those questions and more.

I personally use or have used all three of these services, and so you’ll find some personal perspective mixed in. It’s important to note that any of these three companies could tweak their products at any time, altering what is available, prices, and similar. We’ll add an update note if we change any of the information in this article at a later date, but you should always check before subscribing to make sure the features you want are still available.

2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid review

I’ve been a fan of the Ford Fusion Hybrid’s particular flavor of economy and efficiency for two generations, dating back to when the hybrid model was introduced in 2009. The second generation sees a subtle but significant mid-cycle refresh for the 2017 model year with better tech, improved efficiency and subtle style and packaging changes.

2017-ford-fusion-hybrid-titanium-rotary-shifter_720

Hybrid powertrain improvements

The 2017 Fusion Hybrid sees styling tweaks to both its front and rear fascias, but the engine room for the second generation model hasn’t changed much at all. It’s still home to 2.0-liter, Atkinson-cycle engine that makes 144 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque. That petrol-powered engine is mated to an 88 kW electric motor and a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. All together, the Fusion’s hybrid powerplant sends 188 combined horsepower in the direction of the front wheels via an electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT).

Asus ROG Strix GTX 1050 Ti review

Nvidia’s transition across to the 16nm FinFET manufacturing process brought with it huge leaps for the vast majority of its GPUs. The power hungry GTX 1080showed us that gaming wt 1440p with high refresh rates was possible off a single card, and that 4K gaming at 60fps was almost reachable too.

The GTX 1070 packed the power of a Titan into an affordable price point, and the GTX 1060 provided as much performance as last tier’s first flagship at a cost lower than a good meal out with your extended family.

It was all going so well, clocks speeds skyrocketed well past 2GHz for the first time in stock consumer history, and the progressive advancements across the processors saw CUDA core count shoot up, alongside transistors too.

XMG U507 review

Some people like their gaming laptops to resemble silver space vessels, complete with metallic trims and flashing RGB lights that evoke images of afterburners in the night. Others care more about the components inside, as they are going to affect your games’ frame rates more than fancy buttons at the end of the day.

With the U507, XMG is appealing to gamers who buy a laptop for its specs above all else. The U507 is one of the least visually appealing models doing the rounds but, on the plus side, it houses Nvidia’s GTX 1070 inside its sizable frame – and you can choose its internal parts, like with most boutique PC builders.

This particular graphics card is based on the new Pascal architecture, and it’s powerful enough to play the latest titles (including VR games) on their highest quality settings.

2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid review

2016-chevrolet-malibu-hybrid-profile

A report issued by AAA says that gas prices may just sink to a national average of below $2 per gallon for the first time since 2009. Looks like Chevrolet picked a terrible time to introduce the 2016 Malibu Hybrid. And that’s too bad, as this fuel-sipping hybrid delivers an excellent ride wrapped up in a sleek little package.

The Malibu is Chevrolet’s midsize sedan, slotting in between the compact Cruze and the full-size Impala. This year the Malibu is completely redesigned and features a whole host of safety features and driver’s aids.

This is the first year the Malibu is offered as a full hybrid. Previous models were available as a mild hybrid, where the electric motor functions merely as a power booster to the gasoline powered engine. The gasoline engine in mild hybrids shut off during braking, coasting, and when stopped, saving fuel.

Leagoo has been launching many devices in the recent past, with the latest to be the M5, at a very cheap price. Now Leagoo announced to us the Leagoo M8, with an even better price and good specs. Apple Watch Series 1 review : Back to the future

The Apple Watch Series 1 is what the first should have been. It’s smooth to use and Watch OS3 makes the experience even better. The Series 2 offers more for fitness, but if you’re not concerned with that then Series 1 is a cheaper – but still great – smartwatch. Just a shame you need an iPhone to use it.

Apple Watch Series 1

How often should smartwatches iterate? It’s a difficult question. Motorola isn’tseeing the benefit in doing it yearly, and it’s not the only one. Apple chose to wait 18 months between the first and second models of its smartwatch, but that may still have been short enough to irk those who spent a great deal of money on the first.

But it didn’t just launch a sequel in the Apple Watch Series 2; it refreshed and revamped the original model into what has become the Series 1, which lacks the built-in GPS, waterproofing and better screen of the Series 2. It does, however, trump the original model with a dual-core processor, making it noticeably faster.

2016 Fiat 500 Abarth Review: Flawed but feisty boredom-buster

2016-fiat-500-abarth-review-25-1280x720

The 2016 Fiat 500 Abarth had an advantage as soon as it gurgled onto my driveway. I’m a sucker for a small Fiat, though as with so many of my flaws I blame my parents for my weakness. Growing up, my mom had a series of tiny city cars from the Italian automaker: a bright red original 500, a rattling 126 with a fiddly manual choke, a boxy Uno and a couple of comparatively sleek Puntos, among others. None would win any awards for refinement, but all had its own particular charm.

The 500 Abarth is very much of the same school. No, it doesn’t have the oversized, often-overheating engine of the original cars to wear the scorpion badge. Those, after all, required a permanently-propped engine cover at the rear in order to stay anywhere close to properly cooled. What it does have is personality, for better or worse.

PARADIGM PW600 WIRELESS SPEAKER REVIEW

In the expansive wireless speaker market, DTS’ Play-Fi system is one of the few true challengers to the reign of Sonos and its impressive line of multiroom speakers. Unlike Sonos’ walled garden, which can only connect Sonos-brand speakers, Play-Fi’s open-source approach licenses its Wi-Fi streaming tech to a wide array of manufacturers so you can mix and match speakers throughout your home to suit your needs.

Premium speaker maker Paradigm has added a new member to the Play-Fi family in the PW600. Along with multiroom Wi-Fi streaming, the Paradigm PW600 boasts a secret weapon that gives it an edge on many of its competitors: Anthem Room Correction. The feature allows the speaker’s formidable sonic skills to shine regardless of your listening room’s acoustic failings for great sound anywhere – as long as you’ve got a PC on hand.

2016 – 2017 Suzuki GSX-S1000 / GSX-S1000F Review

Suzuki  launched a legacy when it introduced the world to the GSX-R 750 back in 1985, and the factory has added to that family tree with the release of the new-in-2016 GSX-S1000, and built upon it once again in 2017 with the GSX-S1000, the ABS-equipped version of same, and the S1000F. Consider this bike the street-wise cousin to the more race-centric GSX-R range.

The GSX-S1000 does more than bear a passing familial resemblance however, it actually shares parts and technology with its MotoGP relative, including the 999 cc engine used in the GSX-R1000. Set up for street domination, this bike proves that the GSX legacy is alive and well.

Burmester 099/956 Mk2 review

Over the years we’ve come to expect certain things from Burmester products. The 099/956 Mk2 pre/power combination conforms to type.

A chrome front that can double as a mirror in emergencies – tick. Top-drawer build and finish – tick. Eye-watering prices – tick. Last, but by no means least, superb sound, again, tick.

This pairing comes from around the middle of the luxury brand’s amplification range, yet by most standards it’s still very much at the cutting edge as far as all-round ability is concerned.

Features

The 099 is a well-equipped unit as far as line-level high-end preamps go.

Burmester has long been a believer in the advantages of balanced signal transmission so it’s no surprise to find all three of the 099’s line level inputs are of the balanced XLR variety.

2016 – 2017 Indian Scout / Scout Sixty Review

Reintroduced for 2015 after over a decade-long hiatus, the Scout from Indian Motorcycles has a long and illustrious heritage dating back to 1920. Bigger than a café racer, but smaller than what I consider a cruiser , the Scout fits into an in-between class that I call a bar-hopper and Indian calls “mid-size.” Fair enough. Spec-wise, the 2017 Scout is essentially a carry-over from the 2016 model.

New in 2016 was the Scout Sixty. Rolling on the same chassis as the Scout, the Sixty has a smaller engine for “a confidence-inspiring ride, according to the folks at Indian. The Scout and the Scout Sixty have cut-down fenders — unlike the rest of the Indian lineup with valenced fenders — and lacks the iconic fender-mounted war bonnet. Still, they’re Indian in all the right places. The fat 130-series front tire gives the Scout a great bit dose of American-cruiser styling.

2015 – 2017 BMW R 1200 RS Review

BMW  launched its newest sport-tour model, the R 1200 RS in 2015, and the model is a direct carryover into the ’17 model year with some upgraded goodies last year and this year. Beemer combined the top-shelf Automatic Stability Control, optional Electronic Suspension Adjustment, Dynamic Traction Control and variable power-delivery modes with a rather sporty platform, both in form and performance. The 1,170 cc, twin-cylinder boxer engine delivers power numbers that would embarrass many pure sport bikes and drives the RS into the realm of high-speed, long-distance riders.

Beemer’s RS series has always been about touring comfort since the original brought its fixed fiberglass fairing to the market back in 1976 with the R100 RS, and this newest incarnation toes the family line with tour-tastic features that should take the edge off the longer jaunts. Join me while I take a look at the newest generation of this venerable line.

Lenovo N22 Touch Chromebook Review

Most Chromebooks look pretty similar, so it’s intriguing to see Lenovo break the mold by adding some new features to the company’s N22 Touch Chromebook ($230 as reviewed). This machine has a built-in handle for easy carrying and a camera that spins around so students can record their teachers as well as themselves. The computer’s mixed performance and poor speakers stymie those small innovations, though. This laptop will work for young pupils who focus on one assignment at a time, but competing machines offer stronger performance.

Design

The N22 has a few more moving parts than your average laptop. From the outside, some parts don’t look like you expect them to, but they’re actually signs of Lenovo’s attempts at innovation. The black plastic lid features the Chrome logo and Lenovo’s emblem, as well as a black cutout near the laptop’s lip. When I opened the lid, I discovered the webcam can spin around to face away from the user. I was also greeted by a 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768 display, island-style keys and a deck made of more black plastic.

2015 – 2017 Yamaha Star V Star 250 Review
