Microsoft’s promise in Continuum definitely has appeal. Turning your smartphone into something of a portable desktop PC is a dream come true for many. For some, however, Continuum is a half-baked promise, limited to using only the “Universal Windows Apps” and leaving thousands of “legacy” win32 software out in the cold. Now a group called Nurve is taking the concept to its logical conclusion: the full desktop version of Windows 10 on a smartphone, no holds barred. The catch? It’s still in its crowdfunding stages.

Omate Rise is the latest 3G-compatible Android smartwatch
Omate is one the more low-key manufacturers in the smartwatch game right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re lacking in effort. The company has just announced its latest wearable, the Rise, a circular smartwatch that runsAndroid 5.1, features 3G support with a Micro SIM card slot, and has a wallet-friendly price of just $200. Just don’t expect to pick one up as a Christmas gift, as the Rise is launching on Indiegogo later this week, with shipments expected to begin March 2016.

iPhone 7 ditching the headphone jack is about control, not thinness
Has time been called for the headphone jack? If the rumors are to be believed, it may well be Apple that culls the 3.5 mm socket on the next iPhone, and it’s making people mad as hell.
Apple does indeed have a history of sending technologies out to pasture, not to mention of embracing new ones. The demise of first floppy drives and then optical drives in general on the desktop, as well as the introduction of USB 1.1 on the iMac G3 and USB-C on the 12-inch MacBook, are each notable in part because they occurred well before the rest of the industry was ready to do the same.

McLaren won’t make a Porsche Cayman competitor
Bad news for McLaren fans who have been hoping the sports car maker would extend its line to cover a lower price point. McLaren is targeting the Porsche 911 models with the 540C, but it won’t make anything cheaper it seems. Rumors had suggested that McLaren might make a Porsche Cayman competitor, but those rumors have now bene quashed.
The brand wants to retain its high-end appeal and a car priced low enough to compete with the Cayman isn’t in the cards. McLaren’s Robert Melville says that bringing the brand down from the very high end with the P8 competing with the LaFerrari and Porsche 918 to a car like the 570S and 540C aimed at competing with the Audi R8 and 911 is as low as McLaren wants to go.

ZTE Nubia Z11 to arrive in US alongside China launch
Chinese company ZTE enjoys healthy success both in China and the United States, and as such a new report isn’t much of a surprise: ZTE plans to launch its upcoming Nubia Z11 smartphone in both China and the U.S. at the same time, something spurred in part by the widespread success of ZTE’s Z9 handset, which has sold more than half a billion units across the globe.
ZTE is a fairly well known name in the U.S., though it is often associated with budget and mid-tier smartphones, as it primarily targeted that market for many years. In more recent times, however, the company has been pushing its more high-end handsets, which boast top of the line features at price points that usually undercut some of the better known big-name companies.

Zotac GeForce GTX 960 Amp! Edition graphics card review
ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 960 AMP! EDITION GRAPHICS CARD REVIEW
Occupying that twilight land between the sub-£150/$225 graphics cards, and the supremely expensive fireworks of the £200/$300+ crew, the GTX 960 is designed to fill that graphics card sweet spot, where high-class gaming can be experienced without having to pay out a crippling entrance fee. As such, this new card from nVidia could potentially be an important addition to its arsenal.
PRICE
When we first reviewed the card back in March, it cost a whopping £285/$428. But now, you can buy it for under £170/$255 on Amazon. That makes it much better value, and a better choice than the GTX 950 in most cases.

Canon PowerShot G9 X Digital Camera Review
If you’re like most people, your smartphone has taken over as your primary camera. It’s not hard to see why: it’s convenient, always in your pocket, and the easiest way to share moments with friends and family.
But there’s always room for a second camera, especially if you want something a little more capable, or one with a little more zoom. And even if you’ve already got a high-end DSLR, then something that condenses that quality into a compact package is immensely valuable.
This is where high-end point-and-shoots come in, such as the new Canon PowerShot G9 X ($499.99 MSRP). Like other high-end compact cameras it’s got some serious horsepower under the hood. But unlike its closest competition, it starts at just under $500. That’s not cheap, but if you’ve got your eye on a second camera for whatever reason, this one is worth a second look.

Archos 101 Magnus Plus review : Huge Capacity Isn’t Everything
Archos is being talked about a lot this year. What with its Fusion Storage, the sledgehammer blow that was the 50 Diamond and the return of very large capacity devices, the brand hasn’t been sitting on its laurels. And its one of these bigger tablets that we’re looking at here today as with its Magnus series, Archos is bringing back massive storage capacity to the Android tablet. The 101 Magnus Plus we’re testing has 128 GB of storage and a Full HD screen… but in the end, that’s about it.

Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock review – First Impressions : Charging time?
There are plenty of Apple Watch docks on the market already. Companies like Griffin, TwelveSouth, Belkin and others were all keen to offer something in place of Apple’s absence.
Now Apple has announced, and launched its own docking station for the AppleWatch. Should you go Apple? We’ve grabbed one of the new Apple WatchMagnetic Charging Dock to find out.
Design
Unless you bought the top of the range Apple Watch Edition watch you’ve, until now, probably just been happy slapping your Apple Watch on the dangling magnetic charger you’ve had lying on your bed side table.

Rolls-Royce Wraith Review: Driving a $400K Dream Machine
Mellifluous, yet powerful. Gracious, yet gutsy. An engineering and technical pleasure to drive, the 2015 Rolls-Royce Wraith is a truly unique vehicle. And so it ought to be. My test Wraith listed for $398,350. Let’s just call it an even $400K.
Such stratospheric prices might sound supercilious, but these cars are not merely about catering to the 1 percent. They are about creating the finest, state-of-the-art grand touring vehicles possible, using unfettered engineering and craftsmanship. And technology. Yes, the Wraith is frighteningly quick. Its massive 6.6-liter V-12 engine has oodles of power and torque. And, yes, it’s more cosseting than a baby’s blanket. But the Rolls-Royce Wraith also uses technology, like lane-departure warnings, front, rear and top cameras, and the latest mapping data, to deliver what in a certain vernacular would be called a tasty ride.

Fujifilm FinePix S9900W Review
The 50x optical zoom lens in Fujifilm’s FinePix S9900W ($350) megazoom (superzoom, bridge, all-in-one…whatever you want to call it) camera is the star. It’s large, and, when extended out to full telephoto, it’s long. That prominent feature, in addition to its DSLR-like body, makes the camera seem far more advanced than a typical compact.
However, despite the hulking size and the illusion of high performance, the S9900W uses a small sensor. That doesn’t mean it’s a terrible camera: There are buyers who want an affordable model with a fixed, long zoom and a DSLR-like feel, without actually buying a DSLR. And at the right price, you could convince some buyers to overlook the issues and get mesmerized by the 50x zoom instead.

TarDisk Pear 256GB Review
The basic models of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro come with just 128GB of storage, and can fill up surprisingly quickly. If you want to jump up to 256GB it will cost an extra $200. It’s not particularly easy to open up a MacBook and fit a new SSD — but there is an alternative. The TarDisk Pear is designed to slot into your SDXC port and permanently pair with your MacBook, offering an extra 128GB ($150) or 256GB ($400) that is indistinguishable from your existing storage.
