It is probably not news by now, but suffice it to say, Apple is doing it again. No matter how disappointing some aspects or features are even to some Apple fans, pre-order interest in any new Apple product is always strong. Even in China, where Apple still doesn’t have complete dominance, the iPhone 6s and the larger iPhone 6s Plus seem poised to sell out very early, judging by how long buyers will have to wait just to get their hands on Apple’s latest shiny smartphone.

Asus has unveiled a new small form factor gaming rig called the Republic of Gamers G20CB. One of the big features of this little gaming machine is the compact 9.5L chassis that all the gaming grade hardware is packed inside. Inside the small chassis, Asus gives gamers 6th generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors to choose from. Graphics are up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 giving the machine the video muscle for high-end gaming. The chassis is finished in matte black with red trim and is covered with Mayan inspired markings.

Xcode hack confirms 2GB RAM on iPhone 6s, 4GB on iPad Pro
Apple is traditionally mum on some details of its devices’ hardware, preferring to talk about how “B is X times faster than A” than raw numbers. It’s partly a smart marketing move, using more general but easily understood comparisons than cold, impersonal numbers. But it also relieves Apple from having to concede, much less reveal, how it has sometimes been skimping on some hardware, most notoriously the RAM in even the most recent iPhones. Fortunately, thanks to developer Hamza Sood, there is great news for fans.

NVIDIA recalls SHIELD Pro with faulty hard drives
Perhaps NVIDIA was too quick to pull the marketing trigger in saying how much better its Android TV SHIELD console is in comparison to the newly announced gaming-friendly Apple TV. Now just a few days later, the graphics chip maker has gone to its forums to reveal a rather worrying detail about some of its SHIELD Pro consoles. These HDD-bearing versions of its SHIELD box apparently has some very bad problems with its hard drives. So bad that NVIDIA is a issuing a recall of defective units, with a promise to replace them of course.

Dell has a Surface Pro clone with a 4K display
Let the clone wars begin! Or something like that. Despite Dell (and HP) entering into a partnership with Microsoft to sell the latter’s Surface Pro 3tablets to former’s enterprise customers, it seems that Dell also has plans to try to one up Microsoft in that category too. A new XPS 12 2-in-1 was recently leaked sporting the same design sense that has made Microsoft’s tablet both popular and unpopular at the same time. This follows Lenovo’s more officialrevelation of the MIIX 700 with exactly the same basic design.

Honda gets California OK for autonomous cars on public roads
The highways of California are about to get a wee bit more crowded, not with your run of the mill cars but with self-driving ones. California’s Department of Motor Vehicles has just approved Honda’s application for testing self-driving cars on its public roads. This makes the Japanese car maker the latest to join the fray of companies seeking self-driving permits in the state. It also gives a bit more credence to Honda’s self-driving plans, which so far have not been as detailed or as concrete as its industry rivals.

Xerox PARC chip self-destructs on command
One of the many programs that DARPA has been working on is called the vanishing programmable resources project. The idea with this project is to make the electronic devices fielded by the military destroy themselves on command to prevent the tech from falling into enemy hands. One of the products resulting from this project is a chip built by Xerox PARC.
The PARC chip will self-destruct on command and could be used to store data such as encryption keys that could be destroyed on command rendering the keys unrecoverable. Researchers at Xerox working on the project say that they wanted to create a system that was comparable to commercial electronics.

2016 Camaro SS hits 60 mph in 4.0 seconds
We already know pretty much everything there is to know about the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. We’ve already climbed behind the wheel of the car for a little hands-on time at the track. One thing that Chevy was keeping mum on was the official performance numbers for the car. We were expecting impressive numbers from the car considering its lighter weight and powerful V8 engine.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible vs. 2014 Jaguar F-type V-8 S – Comparison Tests
The Chevrolet Corvette convertible and the Jaguar F-type V-8 S we’ve gathered here fulfill the basic tenets of the hot-rod faith. Window-shattering V-8? Check. Two seats tucked into a body that will draw longing stares and disapproving looks? Check. Guy behind the wheel wearing a Hawaiian shirt? Check.
But the Corvette and F-type do have differences. One has a DOHC engine with a supercharger on top, the other a pushrod V-8 that will send quivers through the body at idle. One looks like something a superhero would drive, the other something a superspy might buy. With all these commonalities and contrasts staring us in the face, we figured it appropriate to run our first test of the C7 convertible against its British foe to see who makes the better ride for the Hawaiian-shirt aficionado.

T-Mobile announces Lifetime Coverage Guarantee
It’s no secret that only a few years ago T-Mobile had a tiny LTE footprint around the US. In some parts of the country, it’s LTE coverage is still scant. T-Mobile has been working to beef up its LTE coverage and claims to reach “nearly” every American today. T-Mo says that it has more than doubled the square miles it covers with LTE in just over a year.
To help improve that LTE coverage, T-Mo has been rolling out lots of new spectrum to carry LTE signals twice as far from its towers than the signal previously traveled. The new spectrum also makes coverage inside buildings four times better than it used to be thanks to T-Mobile Extended Range LTE using Band 12 or 700 MHz spectrum.

Mustang EcoBoost gets Shelby GT performance pack
Infamous Ford tuner Shelby has revealed its latest re-fettled Mustang, but this time around it’s no V6 or V8 but the EcoBoost that has been made-over. Ford’s four-cylinder might not seem the typical recipient for performance attention, but the Shelby GT actually makes a lot of sense, if you consider Mustang sales from a global perspective.
After all, this latest Mustang is the first to really take drivers outside of those in the US seriously. Right-hand drive production started earlier this month, while cars headed to left-hand drive countries began shipping out all the way back in January.

iPhone 6s hands-on: Rose Gold, 3D Touch, 12MP Camera
Familiar and yet different, that was my first thought when I picked up the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Apple’s tick-tock upgrade path for its smartphone does mean the “s” variants tend to look a whole lot like – if not identical to – their predecessors, but there’s enough in the mix to keep things more than interesting.
Perhaps it’s a misconception from knowing the materials themselves have changed, but the 7000-type aluminum does feel a little different to the fingertips. Nonetheless, we’re still talking a solid chunk of glass and metal, with neat detailing and high attention to construction.

iPad Pro hands-on: Big tablet puts MacBook Air on notice
The iPad Pro is huge. Incredibly, vastly, ridiculously huge. 12.9-inches may not be big in the grand scheme of screens, but when it’s slapped on the front of a 6.9 mm thick tablet it’s astonishing to pick up. Still, while the iPad Pro might be as close to the “digital newspaper” of science fiction past as we’ve got so-far, it makes far more sense as a content creation tool than one for consumption.
It’s light enough to hold one-handed, though you get better results if you cradle it in your arm like a clipboard. Looking at the display for the first time is much like seeing an iMac with 5K Retina that first time: the colors are bright, viewing angles vast, and the whole thing generally astonishing.

Logitech CREATE keyboard case jumps on the iPad Pro train
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or sleeping the past 12 hours, you would have probably heard by now that Apple launched the iPad Pro, the tablet that breaks almost all of the restrictions that the late Steve Jobs set for the product line. And first on the scene is none other than Logitechwith its new CREATE keyboard for the iPad Pro.

Camera Restricta concept speculates about future of censorship
A designer has used a 3D printer and other technology to create a camera concept he calls “Camera Restricta”, a name that is derived from camera obscura. The concept has an interesting take on unique photography, but also hints at a way photography in the future may be censored — by blocking certain locations from being photographed at the software level, leaving photographers — or anyone with a smartphone — with a useless camera.
