Hands on: Xbox One X review

Consoles are changing. Whereas once they were effectively islands, with a catalogue of games distinct from the hardware that both preceded and superseded them, this new era of hardware brings in the idea of overlapping libraries.

The Xbox One X represents this brave new world for Microsoft, and it represents a pretty significant departure from what’s come before. Put simply, there will be no Xbox One X exclusives, only Xbox One games.

This means that while developers will be free to make games that only run on the original Xbox One (more on this later), any games developed for the One X will also need to be playable on the older hardware.

ZTE Max XL Review: A $99 Phone We Really Like

It wasn’t long ago when buying a phone for around $100 would leave you with an ugly, janky mess that was fated to become a paperweight in a year’s time. Phones like the ZTE Max XL are changing that impression. On top of being a well-built device, ZTE’s budget phone offers specs and features that previously weren’t available in this price range.

This phone has a big, bright 6-inch full-HD screen, a built-in fingerprint sensor and a massive 3,990 mAh battery that lasts longer than a lot of flagship devices. It even comes with Android 7.1, so you won’t miss out on handy features like the Google Assistant or multiwindow mode — something that’s exceedingly useful on a screen this big.

Because the Max XL’s screen features a full-HD resolution, pictures and videos look much sharper than on comparable budget phones.

The biggest bummer about the ZMax XL? It’s not available on more networks, as the phablet is limited to prepaid providers Boost and Virgin, as well as Sprint.

Abarth 124 Spider review: Frivolous fun… if you can afford one

What happens when you take a Japanese roadster and give it an Italian heart? You get the Fiat 124 Spider. Dress that car up in some couture red, black and white body kit and you get the on-so-unsubtle Abarth 124 Spider, as you see above – a tuned-up rebadge with plenty of extras going on beneath its sporty exterior.

The Abarth 124 Spider isn’t just a rebadge, though, as it features a 168bhp tuned version of the 1.4-litre turbocharged engine as found in the Fiat, plus different suspension, making it a more powerful sports car… just not a particularly fast sports car. What makes it great fun, however, is the front engine position which, in this elongated two-seat form, gives it an unruly presence when behind the wheel.

Denon AVR-X2400H review

The affordable AV receiver Award is one of our most hotly contested categories, yet Denon has managed to run off with the Product of the Year gong in that sector for the last two years in a row.

Can the new Denon AVR-X2400H – the successor to last year’s Award-winning AVR-X2300W – repeat this winning performance?

Sound

With the Blu-ray of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them playing, our first impression is that the Denon AVR-X2400H’s character is very similar to that of its predecessor.

Ample detail is delivered with delicacy. Voices have a natural warmth, and there’s a spring in this amp’s step that means surround effects are steered with agility and precision around the room.

It’s an articulate, measured performance. As we’re introduced to one magical creature after another, the Denon does a wonderful job of conveying the dramatic tension as characters happen upon large, wondrous beasts.

Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR Review

Introduction

Fujifilm announced details of its 50mm f/2 Fujinon lens in January 2017. The Fujifilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens fits into Fuji’s “XF” range, which denotes it’s a higher quality than the more budget “XC” lenses. The WR in its full name also indicates that it is weather resistant, making it ideal for use with weather resistant Fuji bodies – there are sealing at ten points around the lens barrel. Mounted on a Fujifilm X series body, with the APS-C crop applied, the equivalent focal length of the 50mm lens is 76mm.

Hình ảnh có liên quan

This puts it just below, in terms of focal length at least, the 56mm f/1.2 lens, which has an equivalent focal length of 85mm. The design of the new lens features 9 elements, to include one aspherical ED lens, in 7 groups. The internal focusing system is powered by a fast and quiet stepper motor. The lens has a coating which is designed to reduce ghosting and flare. As well as being dust and weather resistant, the lens can be used in temperatures as low as -10 degrees. It is available in two colours, black and silver.

HTC U11 vs LG G6 (Smartphone Showdown): What sets the HTC U11 apart from the LG G6?

Situated below Samsung in terms of their foothold in the flagship space, both the LG G6 and the new HTC U11 are two premium smartphones with similar price tags. However, the handsets come with several differentiating aspects, both in terms of specs and feats. Below, we’ll highlight them for you.

Design and Display

The HTC U11 features an all-glass outer casing and a super-shiny glossy back color. Starting with the HTC U Ultra, the company moved away from its classical metal phone design and started making glass-backed devices. And the U11 clearly shows us HTC will continue to expand upon these design principles.

As for the LG G6, the phone comes with a metal body, slim bezels, and unique dimensions. It features a 5.7-inch Dolby Vision HDR display with 2880 x 1440 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. So, you’ll get a phone that’s a tad wider and longer than most smartphones currently available on the market, including the HTC U11. Both models include a robust metal frame.

Xbox One X: everything you need to know about the 4K Xbox

We round up the news, from prices to release dates, specification to features of Microsoft’s Xbox One X, formerly known as Project Scorpio…

Microsoft’s Xbox One was intended to be an ambitious multimedia box (with gaming just one of its many components). It never really succeeded in that regard and was left in the dust by the PS4’s superior performance and incredible sales.

So Microsoft was forced to reassess the direction of the Xbox program. Out went the motion-tracking peripheral Kinect, so too the ambition of being the go-to box under your TV.

It doubled-down on games, improving the console and the service, culminating in 2016’s Xbox One S – which supported 4K and came with a UHD drive.

It didn’t support 4K gaming, however, which is where the Xbox One X, (formerly known as Project Scorpio) comes in. This is a no-expense spared, native 4K console that focuses on gaming.

Nikon D7500 vs Canon EOS 80D : Which is better?

Introduction

We’ve already looked at how the Nikon D7500 fits into Nikon’s lineup, and how it compares to the more expensive D500 and its outgoing predecessor, the D7200.

But now, we’re going to look at how it compares with Canon’s EOS 80D.

Introduction

The EOS 80D is older, admittedly, launching in February 2016 with an MSRP of $1199, though it currently sells for $1099. The D7500 was announced in April of this year, and its MSRP and selling price are currently both $1299. So you pay a little more, and get a newer camera with the D7500, but what does that actually translate to? Let’s find out.

OnePlus 5: What We Know So Far

With the success of the previous OnePlus smartphones, it’s only understandable that people are stretching out their necks in anticipation for the announcement of the OnePlus 5. Like always, the smartphone is expected to have flagship specs that can keep up with today’s front-runners.

Excited for the launch of the OnePlus 5? Here’s a quick list of what to expect once it becomes official.

Design

There were early reports from Android Authority showing a supposed prototype of the OnePlus 5 and it sports a dual camera placed right smack in the middle.

2018 Honda Accord Prototype First Drive: All-new 2.0 Turbo packs a surprise

That’s right folks, Honda’s turbocharging the all-new model year 2018 with a new 2.0-liter direct injection turbo-four. In a recent event held at Honda’s R&D facility in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, I got a taste not only of the new engine but also the similarly-fresh 10-speed automatic transmission the automaker has been working on. The fun didn’t stop there: wrapped up inside a Civic test mule was the Accord’s other engine option, a 1.5-liter turbo-four CVT, waiting for me to take it on a couple of laps at the proving grounds.

2018-honda-accord-prototype-first-drive-980x420

“One thing’s for sure, camouflage tape doesn’t last long at speeds above 125 mph,” we joked the first time we saw a Honda engineer run over to patch up the gap on the test car. It’s not often that you’re offered the opportunity to sample an early prototype from this stage in the development process. It’s even rarer to get permission to throw it around as you please on the track.

Philips S-Line 243S7EHMB review

Monitors aimed at business users might seem a rather quaint prospect to gamers or graphics professionals, but the range of available products demonstrates the underlying strength of this sector.

Business users are usually looking for effective no-frills solutions that will work with older systems, require little or no tweaking for optimal performance, and are unerringly straightforward.

Many of those points are addressed by the new Philip’s S-Line series, and specifically, the S-Line 243S7EHMB reviewed here.

9WLRFY2hdVzvtGYJ8Erxmj-650-80

Price and availability

Initially, the S-Line 243S7EHMB will be available in Europe, priced at just £159 in the UK. It’s expected to arrive in the US market this coming August with a price tag of $199 (about AU$265).

That cost brackets it between the cheaper BenQ BL2405HT and the pricier LG 24MB35PH.

2018 Audi A5 / S5 Sportback First Drive: Luxury SUV alternative for a wagon-less world

What a cruel joke the American automotive market continues to play on the once-proud station wagon. At a time when new car buyers seem determined to turn their backs on traditional sedans in favor of SUVs and crossovers of all shapes and sizes, manufacturers are equally resolute in their desire to leave the just-as-practical wagon in the lurch. Audi, a company which produces beautiful long-roofs that are sold everywhere but here, has been forced to play the game, too. In doing so, however, it’s tapped into a level of style that has produced some of the most appealing luxury options for the cargo-friendly set: the Audi A7 / S7 twins, and their new, more affordable siblings, the 2018 Audi A5 and S5 Sportback.

Hero-2018-Audi-A5-S5-Sportback-review-photo-SlashGear00007

It’s a familiar strategy, of course: tap into the success of a strong-selling high end model by creating a smaller version at a more affordable price. If self-indulgent, four-door ‘coupe’ imitation were the sole inspiration behind the new A5 Sportback (and its ‘sportier’ S5 Sportback counterpart), then the end result wouldn’t be nearly as interesting.

Verizon Wear24 review: Verizon’s LTE-enabled smartwatch is anything but extraordinary

The Verizon Wear24 would make for a pretty solid entry-level Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch. It’s got zippy performance with good battery life, GPS and LTE. However, it’s also $349 with no two-year contract, making it way too expensive for a smartwatch that lacks a heart rate sensor, comes with a bland design and has no Android Pay support despite having NFC built-in. Unless you really need an LTE-enabled smartwatch on Verizon’s network, it’s best to skip this one.

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Verizon Wear24

Verizon surprised us back in February when it announced the Wear24, its own LTE-enabled smartwatch. It surprised us once again a couple months later when it announced it would go on sale in just a couple days.

And then we were surprised once again when it was announced that the LG Watch Sport would not make it to Verizon’s network, leaving the similar Wear24 as one of the few simple, good-looking LTE-enabled watches on Big Red’s spectrums.

Cambridge Audio SE1 review

When it comes to sub-£100/$150 in-ear headphones, you’re spoilt for choice. It’s difficult then for a new pair to stand out in this overcrowded market. Enter, though, the Cambridge Audio SE1s, a pair of audio enablers that bring a bit more than you’d usually expect in this price bracket.

With cheap plastic making way for more premium aluminium elements, and high-end drivers shrugging off their usual price tag, the SE1s offer style and accomplished, well-rounded sound, all without breaking the bank. They don’t necessarily stand out though. At least not at first.

Their £68 (around $85) asking price isn’t your usual fee, but with half the proceeds going to the Youth Music charity, at least you can feel good about yourself while filling your ears with solid sounds. And solid sounds are guaranteed.

2018 Kymco Xtown 300i ABS Review – First Ride

With a scooter market of less than 30,000 units from major manufacturers a year*, the USA isn’t much of a thing for scooters, and medium-displacement scoots like Kymco’s new $3,999 Xtown are even less of a thing since Honda dropped its PCX 300 and Suzuki fired its Burgman 400. I got to ride the new Kymco Xtown 300i ABS last week, a scooter that replaces two similar-sized models in the Taiwanese company’s line and offers solid value to the scooter rider that wants comfort, convenience and freeway-friendly power.

For 2018, Kymco also offers the bigger, faster – and $2,000 pricier – Xciting 400i, but has also dropped the Downtown 300i and People 300i from the line. That means the Xtown offers a value-friendly alternative to the Xciting, scaled down in performance but still a solid multi-purpose scooter.

GoPro Fusion preview: The 360 camera you’ve been waiting for

GoPro has given us a first look at the upcoming Fusion 360-degree action camera. Like the Hero and Session, it’s designed to be strapped to virtually any part of you, your bike, shoes, car or any number of accessories. It’s just as much an action camera as the others, except this one shoots in 360 degrees and has some impressive features.

It’s worth noting, the units we saw were very much pre-production models, and this was more a sneak peak teaser than a full-on product announcement. That means some (or most) details and specs aren’t being shared, but we’ve seen enough of how it performs and works to at least give you a taster of what to expect. If pre-launch models are anything to go by, the real thing won’t just be what the 360/VR capture market needs, it could revolutionise action camera video.

2018 Volvo XC60 First Drive: The best Swedish all-rounder since ABBA

Volvo’s reinvention has been a bright star in the auto industry, and with the 2018 XC60 SUV it’s set to bring that thoroughly Swedish thinking into the mainstream. First of the new 60 Series models, it’s a vital car for Volvo to get right. The old XC60 was Volvo‘s best-seller after all, not to mention the most popular premium SUV in Europe, even in its final year of production.

Indeed, in the US alone and despite its age, Volvo sold 20,000 of the old cars last year. In short, while the S90, V90 Cross Country, and XC90 are important for Volvo, the XC60 hits that broader market sweet-spot. It’s a segment in which the automaker currently has around 5-percent share, affluent buyers putting strong design and well-crafted interiors near the top of their priorities.

It’s also a segment ripe for conquest sales. Volvo expects 60-percent of 2018 XC60 buyers to be converts from competitors like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, who might ordinarily find themselves behind the wheel of a GLC300 4MATIC, X3 xDrive28i, or Q5 2.0T Premium Quattro. Unlike with the XC90, which some felt could’ve been a little more aggressive on pricing, the XC60 starts at a highly competitive $41,500 (plus $995 destination).

Apple iPad Pro 10.5: Release date, specs and everything you need to know

Apple officially revealed several new products during its WWDC developer conference in June, one of which was a new iPad Pro, while another was the larger iPad Pro with updated specs. There was also a Siri speaker – called HomePod – announced, but that’s an entirely different topic for an entirely different feature.

The new iPad Pro is the device we are focussing on here. Bridging the rather large gap between 2016’s iPad Pro 9.7 and the iPad Pro 12.9, the iPad Pro 10.5 replaces the 9.7-incher with a slight redesign and a big bump in specs. Here is everything you need to know about the iPad Pro 10.5.

2017 Citroen C5 Aircross Review

If you look at Citroen’s current lineup, you won’t see too many crossovers and SUV,which is rather unusual given the current industry trends. Granted, Citroen might be a bit late to the party, but it’s already on its way to offering a solid family of crossovers in the future. The C5 Aircross is one of them and comes only two years after the French firm unveiled the Aircross concept. Heavily based on the show car, the production model broke cover at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show ahead of its Chinese market debut.

Faithful to the concept car design-wise, the C5 Aircross has very little in common with the sedan using the same badge. On top of being a new product for the brand, it also brings two important technologies to the market. For starters, it’s the first Citroen to use a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Second, it introduces the newly developed suspension system with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions. It’s also a somewhat premium offering compared to its rivals, but you’ll find out more about how it stacks up against the competition in the review below.

Apple MacBook (2017) Review

Yes, Apple is keeping the MacBook Air around, but the 12-inch MacBook continues to be the company’s true flagship ultraportable. It’s pricier at $1,299, versus $999 for the Air, but the MacBook is a pound lighter, has a much sharper and more colorful screen and now packs a 7th-generation Core processor and faster SSD for more pep. Apple also refined the keyboard to make it feel cushier. However, some of the same drawbacks remain on this refreshed MacBook, and other super-light Windows laptops — as well as Apple’s similarly priced MacBook Pro — surpass it in some ways.

Design: Still a de-light

Weighing just 2.03 pounds and measuring 0.52 inches thin, the MacBook is still one of the thinnest and lightest laptops around, even if it’s not the most attractive system in its class. Apple takes advantage of every square inch, as the keyboard stretches from edge to edge on the deck. We continue to appreciate the solid-feeling aluminum chassis, which is available in Gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray, and Silver.

Galaxy Note 8 Rumors: This Could Be Hottest Phone of 2017

Samsung is getting ready to take another crack at the Galaxy Note. Last year’s phablet launch didn’t turn out so well, with battery issues forcing Samsung to recall the Galaxy Note 7. But Samsung is hoping to learn from both the mistakes it made with that phone and the lessons from its successful rollout of the Galaxy S8 when it unveils a new big-screen phone later this year.

Samsung has already confirmed that you’ll see a Galaxy Note 8 at some point this year. But it’s kept a pretty tight lid on what features you can expect and how the phablet might differ from both the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The rumor mill, however, has stepped up with speculation about the specs, design and feature set for the Galaxy Note 8. Here’s what you can expect from Samsung’s upcoming phablet.

VIZIO SB3851 Review : 5.1 surround in a 38 inch package. Geddit?

Although perhaps better known as creators of superlative televisions, VIZIO also have a nice line in audio gear. While they’ve yet to plunge headlong into full, surround home theater, the Californian company certainly knows what it’s doing. It’s their soundbars that they are best known for, with models that not only complement their existing range of TVs, but just about any setup. It’s not an easy position to take – soundbars are often the subject of scorn from audiophiles, especially those who are fully committed to 5.1 or 7.1 sound – but it’s one the company has gone all in on, and with an SB3851 soundbar system in our testing room to get to grips with, we were looking forward to finding out if the approach had paid off.

Design:

5.1 soundbars are quite rare, making this model something of an outlier. It comes in multiple sizes and configurations, more of which can be seen on VIZIO’s site. Consequently, the SB3851 is actually a system of multiple components, not just the soundbar. In addition to that, you get a little bruiser of a wireless subwoofer, and two dinky satellite speakers. We’ll get to those. Let’s talk about the soundbar first.

Panasonic 12-60mm f/2.8-f/4 Zoom Lens Video Review

[su_youtube url=”https://youtu.be/T7c9urcnK5Q”]Picture 10 of 12[/su_youtube]

The Panasonic 12-60mm f/2.8-f/4 zoom lens is part of a new line-up of Leica DG optics, designed for the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) format.

It’s an extremely versatile standard zoom range and when we put it to the test, we found it performed well and handling was also very good but does David Thorpe agree?

David begins his review by comparing the 12-60mm with various other lenses before moving on to describe it as a ‘handsome beast that fits the company’s house style.’ The built-in OIS is praised as too is the weight and general handling of it. Plus, David also likes how smooth the focus and focal rings are.

The main thing you want a lens to be is sharp and David says the 12-60mm from Panasonic didn’t let him down. Plus, David says purple fringing and flare are also kept to a minimum and the quality of out of focus areas is rather pleasing, too.

2017 Honda Civic Type R Review

The interwebz have been bustling over Honda’s all-new 2017 Civic Type R, and for good reason. Not only is the hot hatch better than the previous version, it marks the first time a Honda Type R product will be sold in the United States. The Civic Type R takes advantage of the new, tenth-generation Civic’s chassis, while adding an improved suspension system over the outgoing Type R. Drive modes change the hatchback’s attitude via variable-rate steering, throttle response, and dampers. The familiar 2.0-liter VTEC turbo-four returns almost unchanged, but comes mated to a new six-speed manual gearbox with new rev-matching system. And like before, the Type R sends power to its front wheels only.

The go-fast goodies are matched with an aggressive styling. A huge wing, chin splitter, and air scoops all play into the sporty design. Production kicks off in the summer of 2017 with deliveries starting in the fall. Like all tenth-generation Civics, the Type R hails from Honda’s U.K. manufacturing plant in Swindon, England. Pricing starts in the mid-$30,000 range.

Dji Spark Selfie Drone Review

DJI’s Spark is the company’s first attempt at a true drone for everyone. DJI has made no secret about the fact it thinks non-RC enthusiasts want a lightweight, compact quadcopter that’s easy to control. That’s exactly what the Spark is. But after spending some time with it (and a Mavic Pro, for comparison), I’m torn. The Spark is, indeed, incredibly fun, simple to use and easy to carry around. But, the gesture controls aren’t as useful, or reliable enough for new pilots. And therein lies the dilemma.

The Spark weighs about 0.7 lbs (300g), and the body is about the size of a soda can (if a little taller and slimmer). The arms don’t fold down like the Mavic, so Spark’s total footprint is actually a bit wider (though shorter) than its older sibling when you’re carrying it. The included case makes portability a cinch, though — it fits in most backpacks with tons of room to spare.
