Specs Comparison: HTC U11 vs LG G6

HTC has a new smartphone in town and it’s their flagship offering to date — the HTC U11. To set the phone apart from the sea of powerful Android handsets, HTC has introduced a new way of interaction called Edge Sense. Let’s compare it with LG’s current top offering to find out which one is the one for you

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Specs Comparison: HTC U11 vs LG G6

On paper, HTC’s offering has a number of advantages over LG’s. For one, the chipset powering the LG G6 is last year’s top silicon that’s already been succeeded. This has been LG G6’s main shortcoming when being compared with 2017 flagships. HTC has also mentioned the availability of a more powerful HTC U11 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage in select markets. Well, LG G6 configurations are market dependent too but only the U.S. is getting wireless charging.

What is the Panasonic EZ1002?

The Panasonic EZ1002, as it’s called in the UK, or EZ1000 elsewhere is their latest flagship Ultra HD OLED TV, replacing the CZ952. This new model uses a flat OLED 4K panel, with an increased peak brightness and a wider colour gamut (WCG). The TX-65EZ1002B has a 65-inch screen size with an absolute black filter that is designed to reduce ambient light and reflections. Panasonic have also included their Studio Colour HCX2 processor with professional grade look-up tables and the EZ1002 supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) – specifically HDR 10 and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). Panasonic have also added a soundbar tuned by Technics and the latest version of their My Home Screen 2.0smart TV platform.

The EZ1000 is intended to be a semi-professional product that will not only be available to consumers but also be used in post-production facilities and at events such as the Cannes Film Festival.

The best hearables and smart earbuds you can buy right now

Ears are the right place for wearable tech. So says a growing number of hearable and smart headphone startups. The appetite is certainly there for fitness coaches, personal assistants and language translators in our ear, no bulky wrist accessory or cumbersome display necessary.

We’ll start by looking at the devices which actually exist and which we’ve already tested, like the Here One, Bragi Dash and Samsung Gear IconX. In case you’re not quite ready to buy your first connected ear accessory, we’ve also given you a quick update on the smart earbuds and hearables to look forward to for the rest of 2017 and beyond.

Here One

OPPO F3 Review

Selfies, whether you’re fond of them or not, is one of the driving factors for device-makers to produce smartphones with good front cameras. OPPO is one of those brands that continue to heavily invest in the said feature and one of their latest offerings is the OPPO F3.

Design and Construction

The OPPO F3 is the smaller sibling of the OPPO F3 Plus that launched in March. Both phones sport similar looks, but not exactly identical especially under the hood.

The front is dominated by a 5.5-inch display, which is slightly smaller than the 6-inch found in the earlier F3 Plus. Above it are the earpiece, sensor and the 16MP and 8MP front cameras, while down below is the capacitive Home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Covering the entire fascia is a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5.

2018 Subaru WRX and WRX STI First Drive: One-two turbocharged punch for street and track

You don’t have much time to acknowledge the bear sitting upright on of the highway when you’re behind the wheel of the 2018 Subaru WRX. There’s something about being hammer-down on the zigzag roads that wrap around the river leading into the town of Kaslo, British Columbia – almost like someone had stretched out an enormous tangled slinky and then abandoned it in frustration – that does wonders to focus the mind on the task at hand. At these speeds, you do you, and the bear does whatever it is 600 lbs of black-furred muscle does when it encounters 3,300 lbs of screaming bright blue metal that vanishes around the next bend in a burst of gravel and off-throttle turbo-whump.

In the moment, it’s hard to imagine a better tool four-seasons tool for backwoods blasts down seemingly forgotten mountain highways than the WRX, until you realize that you’re still a few rungs below the mightier, and more rambunctious WRX STI sedan. Fortunately for me, Subaru has brought both along on this adventure, and I’ll spend the next two days swapping back and forth between the two compact performance cars and avoiding predatory wildlife in the process.

1More MK802 review: Great value Bluetooth over-ear headphones

You might not have heard the name 1More before. This Taiwanese-based audio manufacturer has been distributing headphones in the UK for less than a year – and having already seen the C1002 in-ears, we thought the company was off to a promising start, despite those in-ears sounding a little too bright.

The 1More MK802 are a different kettle of fish: these wireless over-ear cans are not only different by design, they also fare far better in the sound stakes. Are they 1More’s breakthrough product and headphones worthy of spending your hard-earned cash on?

Tend Secure Lynx review

Today’s home security market follows a pretty predictable pattern. Most DIY security cameras come with high-definition live streaming video, cloud storage for that video, some kind of motion detection feature and typically cost about $200. Tend Secure’s Lynx Indoor camera has all of those things, but it costs just $60 (£45/AU$80).

Yep, you read that right — 1080p HD resolution, 7-day free event-based cloud storage and advanced, facial recognition-based motion alerts all for 60 bucks.

The Lynx doesn’t currently integrate with any major smart home platforms, although it is slated to work with the Google Assistant by the end of July. Its removable base is oddly designed, too, and doesn’t hold the camera in place well. It isn’t a perfect camera, but its features and overall value make it easy to recommend.

tendlynx-1

Wonky design

While it’s great to see a budget HD DIY camera on the market, Tend Secure should’ve thrown a little more money at the Lynx’s design.

2018 Yamaha XS650 Concept : Should Yamaha expand its Sport Heritage line with something like this?

Triumph is killing it with its latest Bonneville platform, churning out a variety of models that fascinate everyone from retro-minded Boomers to 20-something hipsters. Encompassing roadsters, scramblers, standards and cafe racers, the platform has huge crossover appeal to a vast swath of riders.

But Triumph isn’t the only manufacturer with a history of producing classic inline-Twins like vintage Bonnevilles. Yamaha had a 16-year run with its XS650 lineup that began in 1969, pumping out around 500,000 variants until the last one in 1985.

Like the original Triumphs, the agile XS650s used a parallel-Twin motor with a 360-degree crankshaft layout. The XS’s 654cc engine was the largest in Yamaha’s inventory until the ill-fated twin-cylinder TX750 debuted in 1973, followed in 1975 by the XS750 Triple. While theXS650 never achieved the legendary status of the Bonneville, it’s achieved a modest cult following among custom builders who want a different take on retro authenticity with Japanese reliability.

2017 BMW M240i M Performance Edition Review

The BMW M240i represents a lot of things to the 2 Series family. It’s not quite on the level of the M2, but it also offers better performance cues and styling upgrades over other variants of the 2 Series that fall below it in the pecking order. In other words, the M240i is the bridge that connects the 2 Series to the M2. It also happens to be well-endowed with new equipment that helps shape its identity as the M2’s baby brother.

So as we welcome the arrival of the refreshed BMW 2 Series, it comes as no surprise that a limited edition M240i M Performance Edition is following suit with plenty of its own tweaks that help, in BMW’s own words, “express the athletic appeal of the compactsports coupe even more.” We like how BMW phrased that to describe the limited-run M240i M Performance Edition. It’s basically saying that while there are already enough reasons to love the M240i for what it inherently is, there are still ways to make it even better. The special edition M240i does its part in filling those gaps. Only 750 units of the sports coupe will be built so expect the special edition model to sell out quickly once it hits the market this coming July.

Canon EOS 800D Expert Review

Canon EOS 800D (15)

The Canon EOS 800D is Canon’s update to the 750D. The camera features a new 24mp APS-C CMOS sensor, ISO25600 that extends to ISO51200, 6fps continuous shooting, FullHD 60fps video recording, along with built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth. The 750D will remain on the market.

Features

Introduced with the 77D and 800D is a new Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens, an ultra-compact kit lens, that Canon say is the World’s smallest non-retractable kit lens. The lens offers up to 4-stops of Image Stabilisation (IS), with improved optics, and a size that is just 61.8mm long. When used with the new lens, the camera is said to offer the World’s fastest focus for APS-C ILC cameras at 0.03s (when using the viewfinder). The new lens will also be available on its own, as well as part of a kit.

Samsung Notebook 9 (15-inch) Review

The Samsung Notebook 9 feels so light that it’s hard to believe it’s a 15-inch laptop. In fact, at 2.7 pounds, this is among the lightest notebooks with this size screen we’ve ever tested. There’s also a lot to like about the notebook’s fast overall performance, impressive battery life, and bright and colorful display. At $1,399, the build quality of the chassis and keyboard don’t quite live up to the price tag, but frequent travelers who want a big display in a portable design should put this Ultrabook on their short list.

Design

The Notebook 9’s sleek, lightweight chassis does a nice MacBook impression, but doesn’t quite go all the way. I’m a big fan of the laptop’s simplistic, silver design — adorned by nothing but a shiny Samsung logo on the lid — but its magnesium-alloy chassis feels pretty cheap and bendable for a premium notebook.

We break down all the Michael Kors Access smartwatches, trackers and hybrids

Michael Kors was straight out of the blocks with two Android Wearsmartwatches last year and since then the designer’s super stylish Access wearable tech collection has grown and grown.

Forming part of the wider Fossil Group connected accessories onslaught, all the Michael Kors wearables we’ve seen so far have been unashamedly fashion focused. There’s even a hashtag for the collection – #AccessItAll for Instagram and Twitter with curated user images featured on the online store. Some models even do a pretty good job of mimicking existing styles in a bid to persuade existing customers to make the switch.

The Edit: Michael Kors Access

What can Michael Kors wearables do?

So what actually are they? The Michael Kors Access wearables can be split into three groups with styles for both men and women in each, aside from the trackers.

Motorola Moto C vs Moto E3 vs Moto G5: Which budget Moto phone is right for you?

Motorola has already announced several smartphones this year, including two new Moto Gs and two Moto Cs. Based on the rumours though, that won’t be the last we hear from the Lenovo-owned company this year with a new Moto E and new Moto X also claimed to be in the pipeline.

With so many Moto phones available and three ranges sitting in what is considered the mid-range or budget end of the market, which is the right Moto for you?

We have put the new Moto C and Moto C Plus up against last year’s Moto E and 2017’s Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus to help you work out the differences between a £90/$135 Moto device and a £250/$375 Moto.

315201740806PM_635_moto_g5_plus

The Moto C and C Plus and the Moto G5 and G5 Plus all feature a newer design than the 2016 Moto E, as you would expect. The Moto G devices have full metal bodies and a large circular camera and flash array on the rear, with the signature “M” positioned beneath and a fingerprint sensor situated on the front.

MSI Aegis 3 review

Building a personal gaming computer is a rite of passage for any PC gamer, but sometimes it’s just easier to have someone else do all the work. The MSI Aegis 3 is one of these pre-built systems that has the hardware to satisfy any PC gamer’s needs, living and breathing inside an aggressively styled, small form-factor chassis that barely takes up any space.

If you’re looking to dive head-first into the glorious world of PC gaming, the Aegis 3 is a great place to start.

HTC U11 vs HTC 10: What’s the difference?

HTC has announced its flagship for 2017, the HTC U11. The new handset follows the movement started by the HTC U Ultra and U Play earlier in 2017, but brings with it flagship spec, looking to outshine its rivals.

So here’s how the HTC U11 compares to the 2016 flagship HTC 10 that it replaces. Is this a handset that will see you begging to upgrade, or is this a little more incremental? You can also read how it compares to the Samsung Galaxy S8, if you’re after the big rival showdown.

1657456

The HTC U11 moves away from the metal unibody signature of HTC to offer the “liquid surface” finish instead. This gives you a glossy glass finish that’s rich with colour and totally unique, shimmering with different hues depending on how the light catches it. It’s available in blue, black, red, silver and white.

2017 Mazda Mazda3 review

2017-Mazda3-front-three-quarter-02

A road trip from New Jersey’s Newark Airport back to Detroit at the wheel of the updated 2017 Mazda3Grand Touring 5-Door proves to to be not only fun, but also an educational endeavor. You can learn an awful lot about a car while covering 628 miles over the course of 8 hours and 53 minutes.

In past experiences with the third-generation Mazda3, I’ve always walked away impressed with its excellent handling capabilities, but the Mazda previously came up short in some other areas, including ride quality, cabin noise isolation and interior build quality.

However, for 2017 Mazda makes some revisions to address some of the 3’s weak points and bolster its technology offerings. Oh, and this is Mazda we’re talking about here, so of course they’ve also done some work to make the car even more fun to drive.

Jaguar XF (2018): Sumptuous luxury, now with new engines

Jaguar updated its XF model in 2015 with sharper lines, pulling this car first released in 2007 into a more modern perspective. The XF sits above the XE in the range and the difference inside is obvious: although both offer similar exterior design and comparable levels of interior luxury, but the XF gives you a lot more space, especially in the back seats.

Like the BMW 5-series or Audi A6, this is a mid-sized executive car, with Jaguar doing an awful lot over the past decade to more Jag from a brand that carried with it the reputation for being a little staid – “old man’s car” was the perception – into something that vibrant and exciting. Jaguar is now less about John Prescott and more exciting for it.

While the F-Pace has been a tearaway success in this regard – perhaps against all expectations – and the F-Type is turning heads, the refreshed 2018 Jaguar XF is stronger than ever and more than capable of holding off those German rivals.

Looking back: Canon’s eye-controlled focus

Over the past few years, we’ve become spoiled by a lot of great autofocus technologies like face detection, tap-to-focus, and subject tracking. But before we had those things, we had Canon’s eye-controlled focus, a technology that made its appearance in film SLRs, but which never quite made the jump to digital cameras.

The Canon EOS 5 (known as the EOS A2/A2E in the Americas) was the world’s first SLR camera with eye-controlled focus.

For those unfamiliar with eye-controlled focus, let me provide a quick primer. The system made its debut way back in 1992 on the EOS A2E, and remained part of the Canon system until the EOS Elan 7NE in 2004. It promised ‘focus where you look’ functionality, meaning you could activate your AF point of choice just by looking at it.

As I recall, there were generally two sets of users when it came to this technology: those for whom it worked, and those for whom it absolutely didn’t. There weren’t many in between.

Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus Review

The $899 Lenovo IdeaPad 710S seeks to pack everything you need into a light little frame. This sleek 13-inch notebook includes a gorgeous screen, a solid keyboard and surprisingly strong audio. We do wish this system lasted longer on a charge, but overall, it’s worth the premium price.

Design

The 13-inch IdeaPad 710S is a slim, magnesium-and-aluminum wedge of a notebook. Reflective Lenovo branding sits on the top-left corner of the lid and chunky rubber feet adorn its bottom.

Measuring 0.6 inches thick and weighing 2.6 pounds, the IdeaPad 701S is thinner and lighter than the Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 (0.8 inches, 3.4 pounds) and similar to the Asus ZenBook UX330UA (0.5 inches, 2.7 pounds).

HTC U11: Everything you need to know

While you were probably sleeping, HTC took the covers off the new HTC U11. The company’s latest flagship Android smartphone borrows the style of the U Ultra but promises to address the spec complaints many of us had about that phablet too. Here’s what you need to know about the U11.

HTC has nailed the design

The HTC 10 was a sturdy, well-constructed phone, but its unibody metal design was beginning to show its age. A gradual evolution of the aesthetic HTC first introduced with the original One M7 all the way back in 2013, it played to the fan crowd but looked dated among increasingly glass-bodied rivals. HTC, though, had a big change in the pipeline.

2017 Maserati Levante Esteso By Novitec Review

Let me put this out there. The Maserati Levante SUV is not getting as much love as it should. Think about it. The premium SUV market is dominated by the likes of the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X6, and Mercedes-Benz GLE. Go a little bit further and SUVs like the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Jaguar F-Pace, Bentley Bentayga and even the yet-to-be released Lamborghini Urus and Rolls-Royce Cullinan are getting more publicity than the Levante. It’s a shame because the Maserati SUV is arguably the best-looking of all of them and its 430-horsepower output isn’t anything to sneeze at. Thankfully, the aftermarket tuning world has not forgotten about the Levante and we see that on full display with Novitec’s Esteso program that helps the SUV achieve power levels to the tune of 494 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque.

Those numbers may still fall short of what other automakers are offering with their stock SUVs, but don’t mistake that for a weakness on the Levante’s part. After all, 494 horsepower is still a load to deal with.

Ford Mustang GT Fastback v Holden Commodore SS V Redline comparison: Road Test

What the hell? Why would you put a two-door Ford Mustang up against a soon-to-be-departed four-door Holden Commodore? Well, when there’s only 2kW and $2500 between them, why wouldn’t we…?

Late last month we got the chance to twin-test our resident long-term 2017 Ford Mustang GT Fastbackagainst the ageing – yet decidedly still entertaining – 2017 Nissan 370Z Coupe. The American ‘Stang trumped the Japanese Z, but not by much. This got us thinking. If we had just under $60,000 to spend on a new rear-wheel-drive ‘muscle car’, would we pick the 5.0-litre Ford or a 6.2-litre Holden? And with that, we were off.

GoldenEar SuperSub X Subwoofer Review: The last time a cube was this devastating, it had Borg in it

Kết quả hình ảnh cho GoldenEar SuperSub X

What is the SuperSub X?

The GoldenEar SuperSub X is the smaller of two SuperSub models that form the flagship range of subwoofers from the company. On a wider level, the SuperSub X also represents the physical manifestation of a technical and design arms race that has been ongoing with subwoofers for the last few years. When the DVD driven surround sound boom kicked off, it brought with it an increase in the interest in subwoofers. At the time, subs were fairly simple beasts. Buyers generally had the choice of a box with the driver either pointing forwards or downwards which contained an amplifier and connections. Power outputs were generally in the order or 100-300 watts and devices with more power than this were considered pretty monstrous.

Daydream: Everything you need to know about Google’s VR platform

The essential guide to all things Daydream

Since its first announcement at the tenth Google I/O, it’s been clear that Google has wanted to push the standards of mobile VR onto a higher plane. It also became quickly apparently that Cardboard was just the beginning.

Enter Daydream VR, an entire platform dedicated to bringing great VR experiences to mobile devices. We had long suspected Google would follow up the simple Cardboard viewer with something more premium, like Samsung’s Gear VR, and we were sort of right.

It turns out Daydream View is only one piece of the Daydream puzzle. At its 2017 Google I/O, the company revealed a bigger piece of that puzzle: standalone VR headsets.

2018 Acura TLX V6 A-Spec First Drive: Millennial-minded

Acura is three decades old, and with the 2018 TLX it’s looking for like-minded Millennials. Latest in the automaker’s line-up to bear the redesigned corporate grille, the new TLX also debuts an A-Spec version that builds on that nose-job with a sharper, more aggressive body kit. Acura‘s target is clear: it wants to be the sports sedan of choice for youthful drivers wanting bang-for-their-buck that the Germans just don’t deliver.

There’s plenty said about the value of a “halo car” like the NSX, but according to Acura it’s not just lip-service. “When people are on our website, looking at the NSX, the number one car they go and check out after is the TLX,” Jon Ikeda, VP and general manager of Acura America. “We need to make sure that our sedans, that they’ll be looking at, have that connection.”

That means making the whole car more memorable. Everything from the A-pillar forward is new sheet metal. The bold new grill takes its cues from the 2016 Acura Precision Concept, replacing the plastic beak of old with a gaping trapezoidal grin. On the A-Spec TLX, it’s finished with matte black diamond mesh and a black chrome surround; not everyone who saw it like it, true, but I’d rather Acura push the envelope rather than play it safe – and invariably bland – as it has in the past.

Other changes include a new front fascia, side-sill garnishes, a rear fascia with new diffuser and 4-inch round, exposed tailpipes, and a rear spoiler. The shark-gray 19-inch wheels are handsome, while the A-Spec badging is fairly subtle. Sony XE93 4K TV review: Latest picture tech unlocks HDR thrills

The first new Sony TV for 2017, the 55-inch XE9305, sets a seriously high-tech tone.

Leading the way is the second-generation of Sony’s Slim Backlight Drive system, which uniquely places two LCD light plates in sequence to provide twice as much local light control as you get with typical edge-lit LCD TVs. This system is the only edge LED engine we’ve seen, in fact, that’s capable of lighting a bright object in the centre of the image without causing stripes of light bleed right across the screen.

The KD-55XE9305 also boasts Sony’s latest and greatest picture processing engine. The X1 Extreme chipset (first seen on Sony’s spectacular 65ZD9 flagship TV last summer) introduces a new dual database system for improving the way high definition sources are upscaled to 4K, and crucially carries enough processing horsepower to add support for the Dolby Vision high dynamic range (HDR) format via a future firmware update (Dolby Vision adds a layer of extra information to the HDR picture data to help TVs optimise the way they present it).
