Latest leaked LG G8 ThinQ renderings examined

The LG G8 ThinQ seems to have leaked in its entirety, front, back, and side to side. This leaves a bit of mystery about what the top and bottom hold for secrets, but this is basically it. This device looks like it’ll have a couple of slightly curved glass front sides, up and down volume buttons and an Assistant button on the left, and a power button on the right. This device looks like it’ll have a fingerprint reader on the back, too.

This device, basically, looks a whole lot like the device leaked last week that was denied by LG pr. Some of the tiniest details might be off by a little bit, but this is … basically it.

2019 Lamborghini Huracan Evo Review – International

Lamborghini’s new middling variant is one of its most user-friendly creations yet

Lamborghini’s Huracan Evo is a mid-cycle facelift/upgrade that arrives five years after the original Huracan LP610-4 made its debut. Being an update rather than a generational change, the Evo retains the core recipe of the outgoing model but gains a few key new ingredients that include the uprated 470kW/600Nm V10 that debuted in the hardcore Performante, plus (for the first time in a Huracan) four-wheel steering and torque vectoring. There’s also clever new ‘predictive logic’ software that harnesses the full might of the electronic chassis controls to deliver a drive experience that’s far more visceral and satisfying, yet even safer than before. The Huracan Evo lands here in the third quarter of this year, priced from $459,441 plus on-road costs.

The best Wear OS smartwatches: Android watches from Fossil, Huawei and more

Our faves from an ever growing group of Google-powered watches

Android Wear has been going by the name Wear for a while now, and in 2018, we were blessed with more smartwatches running Google’s operating system than ever before.

In 2019, it looks like we can expect more of the same with the likes of Fossil Group, tech companies like LG and Huawei and maybe a few newcomers set to launch new Wear smartwatches this year.

The good news is that Google has been spending some time (ahem) to make big improvements to its smartwatch platform. The Wear OS software has been revamped and is easier to use and it has improved support for pairing its smartwatches with iPhones, bringing it closer to the experience you currently get when you pair a Wear watch with Android smartphones.

The 14 best new cameras we can’t wait to shoot with in 2019

Smartphone cameras may be getting so smart that they’re virtually sentient, but that doesn’t mean standalone cameras are on the way out.

Far from it – incoming CSCs from the likes of Sony and Olympus are packed with computational smarts, while the new breed of full-frame mirrorless cameras have the raw power and lens line-ups to take your photography to the next level.

So what can we expect from 2019? Panasonic will soon be joining the mirrorless full-frame brigade, but there’ll be lots of innovation at more affordable levels too, as shown by the new Sony A6400 and rumoured Fujifilm X-T30.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Review

The Mi 8 offers up a large AMOLED display (complete with obligatory notch), top-end Snapdragon 845 processing power, and a strong dual–12-megapixel camera for a UK launch price of £459.

What is the Xiaomi Mi 8?

Xiaomi is finally making a push into the UK with its stylish brand of Android smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has already impressed us with its eye-catching design and creditable AI-enhanced camera at a reasonable price.

But the Xiaomi Mi 8 is just as interesting a package. It offers very similar near-flagship specifications for a slightly lower price than the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro model.

Asus ROG Strix RTX 2070 O8G Gaming Review

Could the triple-fan design of this third-party graphics card blow away the competition?

What is the Asus ROG Strix RTX 2070?

The ROG Strix RTX 2070 graphics card is an Asus alternative to the Founders Edition supplied by Nvidia. While Asus’s GPU and design tweaks will slightly affect performance, the card still shares the same architecture as Nvidia’s original.

Sandwiched between the recently released RTX 2060 and the ultra-powerful RTX 2080 Ti, the RTX 2070 is one of two mid-range options in the Turing family. This creates a bit of an issue. It’s no longer the cheapest RTX card available, nor does it offer the smoothest frame rates.

2018 Yamaha MT-07 Test | Long-Term Sport & Commuter Review

When we sent Associate Editor Kelly Callan off to Spain to review the 2018 Yamaha MT-07, she came back disappointed at her lack of riding time in the dry. While the rain in Spain is mainly on the plain, while she was there it poured on the Mediterranean Coast.

Her first ride review of the MT-07 was informative, but limited in scope. It took a while, but we were finally able to procure an MT-07 here at home for some extensive testing.

Huawei MediaPad M5 and M5 Pro Review

Huawei’s been making major moves in laptops (the MateBook X Pro is a favorite of ours), but the company’s tablets have gone under the radar. Take, for example, the MediaPad M5 and M5 Pro, Huawei’s 8.4- and 10.8-inch media tablets, which offer solid displays and decent performance (for consumer-level tablets). The M5 Pro packs a decent pen and long battery life, but the smaller M5’s battery doesn’t last as long and its sound can’t match its big brother’s. So, while the MediaPad M5 Pro is worth checking out — even with its premium price — the same can’t be said for M5.

Huawei Mate 20 X review: Is it a valid rival to the Nintendo Switch?

What is the Huawei Mate 20 X ?

The Mate 20 X is Huawei’s attempt at making a gaming phone that’s capable of rivalling the Nintendo Switch – currently the undisputed king of portable gaming.

If the pitch sounds familiar, it should; it was Razer’s claim on launching the imaginatively named Razer Phone 2. Asus subsequently followed suit with its ROG Phone, which featured an incredibly similar controller peripheral to that of the Mate 20 X, one that makes it look like a “1337” Switch.

The Empower can capture hours of video clips and instantly turn them into narrative videos.

Creative Super X-Fi Review : The little amp that could

Creative kicks off what could well be the year of immersive audio with a powerful, yet little amp.

While there’s no denying that the portability of earbuds and certain headphones is convenient compared to lugging around a home theater setup, the Creative Super X-Fi Amp emulates an immersive, theater-like experience in a 15-gram package. It alters how we perceive the sound from straightforward, left/right channel listening experience to a more engaging, all-encompassing  sound. In fact, it’s so effective that we recognized it as a top pick from CES 2019.

Who is the Creative Super X-Fi Amp for?

Anyone. Creative touts this small, portable amp as a way to vastly improve the listening experience be it for gamers, music aficionados, or general consumers. When it comes to music, the Super X-Fi is compatible with hi-res FLAC files or general MP3 files streamed over any music service. Its minute stature makes it easy to use on the go. Plus, at least with this dongle, you get to enjoy improved audio.

The Meizu and Vivo ‘holeless’ phones have no audio jacks, no charging ports, and no reason to be

But it still has bezels.

Update : Added information about the second holeless phone, the Vivo Apex 2019.

If Seinfeld was the first show about nothing, the Meizu Zero is the first phone about nothing. Ahead of Mobile World Congress, the phone maker has teased the world’s first “totally seamless” handset that does more than dump the headphone jack: It gets rid of every single port, button, and slot. That announcement was shortly followed by Vivo’s own portless concept, the Apex 2019.

2019 Hyundai Tucson Elite petrol AWD v Jeep Compass Limited petrol Comparison

You could say Jeep needs a new Compass. The US 4×4 brand has lost its way in recent years, haemorrhaging sales locally for three successive years. It hasn’t helped that its Cherokee model that launched in 2013 has struggled to fire in the all-important medium-SUV segment.

2019 Hyundai Tucson Elite petrol AWD v Jeep Compass Limited petrol

Whether awkward front-end styling has hindered that model is unknown, but the Compass’s cause surely can’t be harmed by looking much more like a Grand Cherokee Junior.

Officially, the Compass is a small SUV, though its 4.4m length straddles the compact and medium SUV categories – and in Jeep showrooms places it smack-bang in the middle of the 4.25m Renegade and 4.6m Cherokee.

Google “Coral” on Geekbench: Snapdragon 855, 6GB RAM, Android Q

It wasn’t too long ago that Google launched its third-gen Pixel phones. In fact, we might still be waiting for a Pixel 3 Lite, if that truly exists. That doesn’t mean, however, that Google isn’t already working on what would be the Pixel 4 later this year. That does seem to be the implication in this extremely early sighting of a certain “Google coral” on Geekbench, showing users what to expect by October.

Truth be told, the details shown on Geekbench are to be expected. The device, which we presume to be a phone prototype or at least a board, runs on the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. It also runs the still unreleased Android Q. Considering Android releases are made roughly around August or September, there’s plenty of time to give it a proper dessert name.

2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S and 4S Review – International

The eighth generation of the Porsche 911 arrives via the 2019 Carrera S and 4S, faster, smarter and more capable than ever before

No other sports car can boast the pedigree and continuous lineage of the Porsche 911. In 2019, the eighth generation of the continuously-built and ever-evolving rear-engined 2+2 arrives, bigger, faster, quicker, more powerful and yet more efficient and environmentally cleaner than ever before. The new generation 992 Series Porsche 911 debuts in the form of Carrera S and Carrera 4 S models which share the same new wider front track and wide-hipped curvaceous body shape, draped tightly over a new, largely aluminium platform. There are substantial tweaks to the 3.0-litre twin turbo petrol flat six, a more capable chassis and improved dynamics and even a new gearbox that, with space for hybridisation (and combined with a petrol particulate filter), future-proofs this German icon. The Kaiser is dead. Long live the Kaiser.

Olympus OM-D E-M1X hands-on: A Pro-ready portable powerhouse

There are just some things that seem to be mutually exclusive. Night and day, power and portability, complexity and reliability. TicWatch S2 review

With an affordable price tag, will the S2’s features and performance hold up?

The appeal of the Ticwatch series boils down to one thing: money.

Its watches cost £150-170, £100 less than the Huawei Watch 2.

You get almost every feature you could ask for at the price. The Ticwatch S2 has GPS, a heart rate sensor, better-than-average battery life and 5ATM water resistance.

However, it’s also one of the least refined-looking WearOS watches around. And now the Fitbit Ionic and Huawei Watch GT have shown how good at fitness tracking a breezy, lower-tech smartwatch can be, the Ticwatch S2 is a reminder Wear OS can be hard to live with.

Galaxy S8 Pie Update: 7 Reasons to Get Excited & 3 Not To

A Samsung Galaxy S8 Android Pie update is confirmed and it’ll arrive sometime in early 2019 after a beta.

The Galaxy S8 was Samsung’s 2017 flagship which meant it got the flagship treatment. It was the only device capable of running Samsung’s Android Oreo beta and it was the first device to receive official version of Android Oreo. With Android Pie, this changes.

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 now hold the top spots which means they’re the first in line to Android 9.0 and Samsung’s new One UI.
