Head-to-Head: ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe vs. ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro

We compare ASUS’ new flagship from their offering last year

Just like in previous iterations, ASUS launched several variants of its ZenFone, each catering to a specific market (the Max line for those who prioritize battery life over everything else, and the Selfie line for those who give selfies utmost importance, for example). While the original ZenFone was marketed as a mid-range phone with killer specs for a killer price, things have changed since then, as ASUS also wants a share of the top-tier market by releasing ZenFones with flagship specs starting with the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. For this year, ASUS did a refresh with the ZenFone 4 Pro, which effectively replaces the Deluxe line. But how does the new flagship fare with last year’s model? Let’s take a quick look:

ZenFone 3 Deluxe

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor
  • 6GB of RAM
  • 5.7-inch full HD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection, 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 64GB storage, expandable via microSD card
  • 23-megapixel rear camera, Sony IMX318 sensor, 6-element lens, laser AF, PDAF
  • 8-megapixel front facing camera
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C, Fingerprint scanner
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow, ZenUI 3.0
  • 3000mAh battery
ZenFone 4 Pro

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
  • 6GB LPDDR4 RAM
  • 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2.5D curved glass, with Corning Gorilla Glass
  • 64GB internal storage, expandable via microSD slot up to 2TB
  • 12-megapixel, f/1.7 primary rear camera with ASUS Superpixel engine, PDAF, EIS, OIS, and RAW image support
  • 16-megapixel, f/2.4 secondary rear camera with 2X zoom
  • 8-megapixel, f/1.9 front camera
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G. LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Fingerprint Scanner
  • Android 7.1.1 Nougat with ZenUI
  • 3600mAh battery
Same RAM, better processor

Even if both models sport 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, the ZenFone 4 Pro has an upgraded processor to be competitive with other flagships like the LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. The Snapdragon 835 processor found in the ZenFone 4 Pro is claimed to be 27% faster and 40% more power efficient compared to the Snapdragon 820 processor used in the ZenFone 3 Deluxe.

Dual camera is life

Megapixels were sacrificed with the ZenFone 4 Pro (a downgrade from 23-megapixels to 12 megapixels) in order to accommodate a dual-camera set-up and a bigger aperture opening (f/1.9 for the primary camera). The primary camera

The secondary camera, having 16-megapixels and a f/2.4 aperture, has a 2x zoom, which is useful for times when you need the extra range in taking photos.

Bigger battery life

It’s quite interesting to note that even with the screen downsizing, ASUS managed to add a bigger battery in the ZenFone 4 Pro, up from 3000mAh to 3600mAh. With all the technological advancements, we expect the ZenFone 4 Pro to have a better battery life compared to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe

Only one variant

We were surprised last year that the ZenFone 3 Deluxe came out in two versions, the other being a cheaper 5.5-inch version that has downgraded specs (4GB RAMinstead of 6GB RAM, IPS display instead of an AMOLED display, and 16-megapixels instead of 23 megapixels). ASUS may be changing its strategy this year by launching only one variant of the ZenFone 4 Pro but who knows: The guys from Taiwan might surprise us.

Verdict: More powerful, but…

Undoubtedly, the ZenFone 4 Pro has better internals, specifically for the processorcamera, and battery,  compared to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. However, the challenge for ASUS here is how much they will be pricing the ZenFone 4 Pro in the Philippines, given the added features on it, and the fact that other brands like OnePlus offer similar specs for their OnePlus 5 for under Php 30,000/$583.

Acer Switch 3 review

Hybrid tablet PCs are filling up the market right now. They’re versatile, they’re highly portable, and they’re desirable – with Microsoft’s Surface Pro leading the charge. But it’s far from the only horse in town; below it sits the Lenovo Yoga series, the Asus Transformer line, and many budget badged devices, like the Linx 12X64.

Acer has previous form – the Aspire One was one of the early trendsetters in the hybrid market, and previous Switch hybrid laptops have impressed.

You might expect the Switch 3, priced to land in the lower end of the market, to pale in comparison to its competition, but nothing could be further from the truth – this is a machine with features and build quality strong enough to stand up to the Surface Pro, if you’ll forgive lacks a little in the power department.

Price and availability

The Acer Switch 3 is hitting shelves alongside the Core-toting Switch 5 (which should be around $1000/£1000/AU, though at only $439 (around £450, AU$560) this is a far more wallet-friendly option.

Head-to-Head: ASUS ZenFone 3 VS ASUS ZenFone 4

The battle of the ASUS mid-ranged titans begins anew.

ASUS will be debuting its next-generation ZenFone 4 smartphone family on August 19. As such, it’s high time to see how these new handsets stack up to their predecessors. Up for today’s deliberation is the base ZenFone 4smartphone. Billed as a dual camera phone with high-end middle-range specs, the ASUS ZenFone 4 features across-the-board improvements from last year’s ZenFone 3. How significant and useful are these upgrades? Let’s take a closer look.

Convert Technologies Plato Class A review

What is Convert Technology’s Plato Class A? Answer: it’s a wonderfully versatile single box solution for those that want to play music (and, to a lesser degree, movies) to a high standard without having stacks of electronics littering the room.

It will stream files from an on-board 2TB drive or from a NAS device on the same network, as well as accept inputs from a range of digital and analogue sources, including a record player. Yes, this digital Swiss Army Knife also has an adjustable phono stage.

The built-in power amplifier means that all you need to get going is a pair of speakers and a home network. As far as grown-up hi-fi goes this is about as neat and flexible a solution as we’ve come across.

Selfie Battle: ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie VS ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro VS OPPO F3 Plus VS Vivo V5 Plus

ASUS badly wants in on the dual selfie craze

It was only a matter of time before ASUS threw in its hat into the unusual smartphone phenomenon that is dual selfie smartphones. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, not to be outdone by their Chinese rivals OPPO and Vivo, aims to launch a duo of dual selfie snapping smartphones this August 19, as part of the ZenFone 4 line-up.

The ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie is the budget-oriented phone of the two, packing a Snapdragon 430 and a pair of selfie snappers of the 20-megapixel and 8-megapixel variety. Its more powerful sibling, the Selfie Pro, based on its high-end middle-range specifications, looks to topple the current reigning monarchs of the dual selfie world – OPPO’s F3 Plus and Vivo’s V5 Plus.

Let’s see explore a 4-way battle between these handsets. Note that there are still some unknowns in the equation, but we’ll still do our best to evaluate the showdown.

HP EliteBook 850 G4 review – HP’s surprisingly expensive business solution

Like in almost every market segment, the high-end business segment is oversaturated with plenty of options to choose from. HP’s EliteBook series have always been there and remain as one of the first go-to options when looking for a business solution. However, today’s standards have changed quite a lot and hard to keep up with the competition. While the EliteBook 850 G4 that we will be reviewing in this piece is seemingly an excellent business solution with plenty of advantages over some of its competitors, it fails to meet our expectations in one key aspect – image quality.

While the inclusion of an IPS panel in a business-oriented laptop isn’t a necessity, it has become a standard for mid-range to high-end notebooks and we are pretty disappointed by the fact that the EliteBook 850 G4 is missing on this. For comparison, the Lenovo ThinkPad T570, Acer’s TravelMate P658 and Dell’s Latitude E5570 are all similarly priced and boast excellent IPS displays with high brightness, great contrast and wide sRGB coverage. They can even be used for multimedia, not only for work. In any case, the EliteBook 850 G4 holds up to the competition with good build quality, great battery runtimes, comfortable input devices and a few other key deciding factors that need to be considered. The Flagship Battle: ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro vs. OnePlus 5 vs. LG G6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S8

Who is the real titan among the crowd?

As the flagship battle gets more competitive, ASUS sure wants a piece of that pie with the ZenFone 4 Pro. Not to be outdone by Samsung, LG, and OnePlus, ASUS made sure the ZenFone 4 Pro is equipped with all the best specs possible: Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB RAM, and dual rear cameras to name a few.

As proof that the ZenFone 4 Pro is ASUS creme de la creme, the ZenFone 4 Pro has a slim premium unibody design with Nano Moulding Technology (NMT): an innovation where the antenna is seamlessly fused into the ZenFone 4 Pro’s aluminum frame.

How does the ZenFone 4 stack up against the competition? We compared it with the OnePlus 5, the LG G6, and the Samsung Galaxy S8, and see for ourselves which of these flagships offer the best possible specs.

MSI Infinite A review

The MSI Infinite A is built from the ground up for a broad range of PC gaming demands. It fits the bill whether you’re in the market for a high-powered gaming rig for smooth frame rates or looking to jump in VR.

In fact, it takes being VR-ready to a whole new level with dedicated front-facing HDMI and USB 3.1 ports, making it easy to plug in headsets such as the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. But even if you don’t own a VR headset, the Infinite A is more than capable of handling almost all of the hottest games with the settings cranked all the way up.

Pricing and availability

Although it isn’t necessarily in the same class as MSI’s hulking Aegis series – which can go for almost $2,000 or more – the Infinite A offers excellent gaming performance at a comparatively modest price of around $1,799 (about £1,389, AU$2,292). Our configuration is essentially the same as the retail SKU, except the Infinite A we reviewed lacks an 2TB hard drive to act as a companion to the 512GB SSD.

Mercedes-AMG GT R first drive: One ‘Green Hell’ of a car

GT R. If that’s a name that sounds familiar, it’s because you’ll normally find it attached to the boot-lid of Nissan’s fastest road car. But it’s also now attached to the most potent Mercedes-AMG.

Mercedes-AMG already has a GT model — which we drove last year — which was made one better with the hotter GT S. But what do you follow that with? The GT R of course.

That’s R for race. And, appropriately enough, we were at Silverstone race track to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Mercedes’ high-performance AMG brand. Having already sampled the new GT C (that’s C for convertible, by the way), and been going rather sideways in an E63S, the GT R — in its unmistakable “AMG Green Hell magno” paint scheme — is definitely the main event.

What is it though? Based on the regular and not exactly under-endowed AMG GT coupe, the GT R is a car that Mercedes is keen for us to attach the #beastofthegreenhell hashtag. That’s because it was extensively developed at the Nurburgring — the German race track, nicknamed the Green Hell by Jackie Stewart back in 1968.

We go hands-on with the ZenFone 4 Max!

ASUS just unveiled their entire ZenFone 4 lineup here in Taipei, Taiwan today. While all eyes are on their premium ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 4 Pro, it’s more than likely that the Taiwanese company will make a majority of its revenue selling the ZenFone 4 Max family of phones. Today we’ll be taking a look at the 5.5-inch, HD version of the ZenFone 4 Max that’s more than likely going to be offered here in the Philippines when it launches on the 19th.

Synology DS416play NAS review: multimedia cloud at your fingertips

Every year, our homes become mini data centers, with the addition of new computers and mobile devices as well as the introduction of smart home and IoT appliances. We not only consume more massive amounts of data and content, we also produce just as much via our smartphones, digital cameras, and software. The measly hard drives confined to our desktops are no longer sufficient. We need a data storage that is not only capable of storing that much data but can also grant access to the same quickly and painlessly. Fortunately, Synology’s DS416play NAS offers storage, reliability, and convenience in one neat and affordable package for your home.

Design

If you were looking for a fancy piece of equipment to put on display in your living room, you might be in the wrong market. The Synology DS416play is neither meant to be seen nor heard most of the time, the exceptions being when the fans kick in or when you want to interface with the drives or ports. The NAS’ design is utilitarian at best, but that’s not to say it looks terrible.

Logitech Circle 2 review: The best home security camera?

We were so impressed with the first Logitch Circle camera – which is included in our list of best indoor smart home cameras – that we were intruiged to see how Logitch would take on community feedback to improve its successor.

The Logitch Circle 2 is a more flexible device overall: it includes a wider-angle lens, weather-proofing, better battery life and more mounting options than the original.

It’s the last of these enhancements that really make the biggest difference: the Circle 2 can be upgraded with a battery pack that lasts up to three months on a single charge, a mount that allows it to be stuck to the inside of a window pane, or another that allows it to be plugged straight into a wall-socket.

With more flexibility to suit differing needs than its competitors, is the Circle 2 the home security camera to buy?

Intel Core i7-7820HK vs Core i7-7700HQ – best high-end CPU?

We’re back with another comparison, this time taking a step away from GPUs and moving the focus on processors. When it comes to gaming, you usually have three option – the mid-range Core i5-7300HQ, the most common Core i7-7700HQ, and the high-end Core i7-7820HK.

Now, it’s time to take a look at the Core i7-7700HQ and the Core i7-7820HK. Most gaming notebooks are powered by the Core i7-7700HQ and a GPU of your choice but some models come with an optional Core i7-7820HK which is an overclockable CPU. However, the extra features and power come at a higher price. Today we are going to compare the two CPUs and see if it is really worth the extra cash.

We are using the Acer Predator 17X (GX-792) and the HP Omen 17 (mid-2017) for our tests.

Best zoom lenses for Canon

For flexibility when shooting, a zoom lens gives you a range of options. Here we take a look at some of the best currently available for your Canon DSLR.

*** Note : £1 = $1.30

When choosing a zoom lens, you’ll need to consider first what type of camera you’ve got. If it’s one with a full-frame sensor, such as the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, then the focal length will be the same as is written on the lens. However, if you’re shooting with an APS-C camera, such as the Canon EOS 7D Mark II, Canon EOS 1300D or the Canon EOS 760D, then you need to take into account the “crop factor.” With Canon cameras, this equates to 1.6x the length written on the lens. That means, for example, the equivalent focal length of the standard 18-55mm kit lens supplied with many entry-level cameras is actually 28-88mm.

The best electric cars 2017: Five worth considering

The best electric car? We have driven them all – here are five worth considering in 2017, including their running costs and UK price, plus two to watch out for.

*** Note : £1 = 1.30

We love a V8 as much as the next petrolhead, but the case for an electric car grows stronger every day. They are nippy, emit zero CO2 emissions locally so everyone can enjoy cleaner air and they can be filled up for significantly fewer pennies than a petrol or diesel.

With that said, they are still expensive to buy in the first place (so the payback time is longer), the resale value can be an issue (because of the battery cell’s longevity), most require longer journeys to be planned (because of range) and access to a home charger is nigh-on essential (to make charging easier).

ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie, Selfie Pro Hands-on Quick Review: Let The Selfie Wars Begin!

We take ASUS’ newest selfie smartphones for a spin!

ASUS isn’t new to the selfie trend, as the company released their own selfie-centric smartphone, the ZenFone Selfie, back in 2015. Curiously enough the company decided to not release a follow-up device to the Selfie when they released their ZenFone 3 lineup last year, a decision that may have cost them dearly considering that their main competitors in the mid-range market are all pushing selfie-centric models.

The Taiwanese company realized their mistake and have launched not one, but two selfie smartphones that’s meant to take on selfie chart toppers like OPPO and Vivo. The ZenFone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro look like solid selfie smartphones with great features, but is the market ready for two more selfie-centric smartphones?

Apple MacBook Air (2017) review

Apple’s MacBook Air is as close to iconic as a piece of consumer technology gets. It’s the single laptop model you’re most likely to see everywhere, from college campuses to airports to coffee shops and even offices. And it’s been that way for a very long time.

That’s the problem. Not counting an incremental spec bump in mid-2017, this is still internally almost the same MacBook Air as the last refresh in 2015, and externally, it’s had basically the same design since 2010 (when the original 2008 design got an overhaul). In technology terms, that’s roughly forever.

apple-macbook-air-2017-21

But it’s also a testament to what a strong product the Air was in its heyday. To have a laptop that looks and feels the same as it did for so many years while still a maintaining a loyal following, that’s a rare achievement. The MacBook Air is no longer the best-for-almost-everyone device it once was, but it’s the least expensive way (by far) to get MacOS on a laptop, so there’s certainly still a place for it. Note that the Air we tested had a Core i7 CPU and 256GB SSD upgrade, for a total of $1,349, £1,234 or AU$2,039. The Air still starts at $999, £949 and AU$1,499, and can be found for even less online.

Tibo Smart Amp review

Tibo claims to have invented the world’s first smart amp, which in itself sounds impressive, though it’s not always exclusively an accolade. For example, someone must once have had the world’s first nosebleed, and for them it was probably quite distressing.

So what is a Smart Amp, and why is Tibo so proud to have made it? Well, it’s part of the company’s new range of smart, multi-room audio products, which also includes the Vogue 3 wireless speaker we gave a four-star review a couple of months back.

The Smart Amp is a Class D amplifier with a power output of 50W into 4 ohms. As well as wireless connectivity via Bluetooth and wi-fi, there are physical connections for optical and aux.

It also has direct presets built in for Spotify, Deezer and TuneIn radio, making it a relatively impressive skillset for a £250/$375 stereo amplifier.

JJRC H37 Elfie Selfie Drone Review

JJRC H37 Elfie Selfie Drone

The JJRC H37 ELFIE is a pocket-friendly selfie drone created by the notorious Chinese drone maker JJRC. It’s main highlight is its small size and foldable arms, which reminds a bit of the more expensive Zerotech Dobby drone. With this in mind, let’s get into the review!

Packaging

The packaging of the JJRC H37 ELFIE is rather simple, inside the white box you get the drone, a small pouch to carry it around, some spare props and gears.

Design and Build Quality

I must say the design of the Elfie drone is quite surprising for the price, it manages to be super tiny and still packs an on-board camera and its needed WiFi module for FPV flying. I love its small size and bendable arms which allow me to bring it anywhere and anytime I want to, without getting too much attention. As far as build quality goes, it’s rather disappointing.

Nokia 8 vs Nokia 6 vs Nokia 5 vs Nokia 3: What’s the difference?

Nokia announced three Android devices at Mobile World Congress at the beginning of the year as it began its fight back into smartphones. Since then, it has now launched a fourth model, looking to sit at the top of its portfolio, whilst taking on the other Android flagships in the market.

The line-up includes the Nokia 8, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 models. The Nokia 6, 5 and 3 are designed to cut into the belly of Android, offering quality phones to those in the mid-range and budget market, while the Nokia 8 is the top dog with a higher price point.

Here’s how the specs of these phones break down and exactly what the differences are between them.

HDR10 vs Dolby Vision: which is better?

HDR TV is the battleground for the latest technological format war. We put two of the frontrunners, HDR10 and Dolby Vision, to the test.

Kết quả hình ảnh cho HDR10 vs Dolby Vision: which is better?

At this point in 2017, you probably know that you want HDR video in your life (assuming you haven’t got it already), but there’s still much confusion out there regarding the different HDR formats.

We’re going to put Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) and Advanced HDR by Technicolor to one side for now, mostly because neither is particularly prevalent at this point, and focus on HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

HDR10 is comfortably the most common HDR format currently available, while Dolby Vision is rarer but, on paper, more advanced – and should deliver even more stunning pictures.

Xiaomi Mi VR Play 2 review : Xiaomi keeps plugging away at mobile VR

What can we say? It’s $25 and, again, you get what you pay for. Outside China (where it’s even cheaper at c. $14) this isn’t the mobile VR headset to slay the quality, affordable competition from Samsung and Google. And because it’s Xiaomi, you will have to jump through a few hoops to get started. Still, the design offers some improvements over the last Mi VR Play, so maybe next time, Xiaomi will nail it.

Xiaomi Mi VR Play 2

Xiaomi has a whole range of mobile VR headsets now, the best of which is the Xiaomi Mi VR, its Gear VR-alike which comes as a full headset with a bundled controller.

You can pick one of those up for $29 but maybe you want to shave off a bit more money and check out the smaller, lighter £19.20/$25 Mi VR Play 2? This is Xiaomi’s Daydream View-style headset with a very similar design but no accessory here.

Nokia 8 vs Samsung Galaxy S8: What’s the difference?

Nokia has announced a fourth Android smartphone to its 2017 portfolio. The company, which is now under the brand HMD Global, announced the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in March but the true flagship contender comes in the form of the Nokia 8.

How does the Nokia 8 compare to its tough competition though? We have put the company’s flagship device up against the Android smartphone king – the Samsung Galaxy S8 – to see how the two devices stack up against each other.

Audi S5 v BMW 440i v Infiniti Q60 Red Sport comparison

“Middleweight” mightn’t be the description a buyer might use for a prospective six-figure motoring purchase, but when shopping premium German brands that’s the hard reality, be it size or stature.

You’ve skipped past ‘small’ straight to ‘medium’, hurdled the $50k-something base car tip-in point, bound up the model range ladder past bare essentials into indulgence territory and – why not? – splurged extra on a two-door coupe rather than the more affordable and more practical sedan alternative. You might even opine, as many do, that a real primo German deserves a full six cylinders rather than a make-do four.

Audi’s A3 and S3 model line has just celebrated it’s 20th anniversary, which means for 2017 the vehicle range has just undergone a facelift and update.

For the Singapore market Audi has the A3 Sportback, A3 Sedan, A3 Cabriolet, S3 Sportback and S3 Sedan available, as well as the stonking RS3 Sedan and RS3 Sportsback which were just launched in early August 2017.

Now the A3/S3 has always been a popular car in the Small Family sedan segment as it offers a number of trim, equipment levels and engine options to attract quite a wide consumer base, from young drivers looking at the A3 as their first hatchback to more mature drivers who prefer a small family size sedan like the S3 but with an upmarket executive feel.

But as we found out, there’s so much more to the new S3 than just a cosmetic facelift and some new interior lights. Audi in fact took the opportunity to create the type of car that we like – a Euro sedan that you can drive to work in absolute comfort, but with the ability to match your wild side should you find a twisty road to cut loose on!

Pro-Ject Essential III review

For a small but loyal band of music lovers, vinyl is well and truly back on the menu – and turntable manufacturers are doing their best to make hay while the sun shines. Pro-Ject is one such brand.

A relative newcomer, the company has made its presence felt with an unrivalled stream of four- and five-star turntables over the last 20 years. The Pro-Ject Essential III is the latest addition to the roster.

The first Pro-Ject Essential range first appeared at the turn of the decade and went on to take home multiple five-star reviews and What Hi-Fi? Awards. This third incarnation has been four years in the making and joins a sub-£300/$450 turntable market that’s more crowded than ever.

Pro-Ject now has two models below the Essential – the Elemental (£150/$225) and Primary (£190/$285) – but calls the £240/$360 Essential III “the first true hi-fi offering”. Luckily, the Essential III has plenty to offer.

The Kinivo BTH220 is one of the best bluetooth headsets we have ever come across and is capable of both wireless music streaming and hands free calling. It is built for portability with a lightweight, foldable design which allows you to take it around conveniently. The integrated rechargeable battery delivers a good 8 hours of call time or music listening time, and up to 150 hours of stand-by time. It naturally comes with an in-built microphone for hands free calls, and has a unique behind the head wearing style with a curved headband to provide maximum comfort. The BTH220 has a call button on the right side of the headset for you to accept and take calls, change music tracks and adjust the volume control. We were quite surprised with the sound quality of the Kinivo BTH220s. The bluetooth headset can get really loud and does the job of blocking outside noise pretty well. The sound quality of music performances was crisp, clear and does not distort at higher volumes. While the sound of the BTH220s is definitely not within the audiophile range, it does produce pretty decent highs and mids, although the bass response is lacking. The BTH220s are actually pretty good headsets to take around with you to the gym or for casual use. It is also particularly useful for gamers who need a headset with a microphone attached. The call quality on the BTH220s is solid; the person on the other end could hear us very well without any issues. Speaking through the BTH220s felt as though we were speaking through a landline.

The Bluetooth connection on the BTH220s was extremely easy to operate and pair with your mobile device or other Bluetooth streaming device. The multifunction button on the right side of the headset activates the Bluetooth connection on the BTH220s and you can simply discover it using your other device. The wireless range on the BTH220 headset was surprisingly good – it can go up to 40 feet away and still produce crystal clear sound (bearing in mind that there are walls in between the source and the headset). This makes taking calls or streaming music on the BTH220 ideal if you need to work some distance away from the Bluetooth source.

In terms of comfort, we can safely say that the Kinivo BTH220s are some of the most comfortable Bluetooth headsets we have ever tested. You can quite literally wear these headsets for the entire day and not feel ear fatigued. The BTH220s have a unique curved design which goes around the back of your neck to help secure the headset in place, so you will not have to worry about it coming off. This also reduces the pressure on your head, making them barely noticeable when worn for gym or outdoor use. When we tested the BTH220s while working out at the gym, these headsets did not shift around at all and stayed securely on the ears. The portability on the BTH220 is also excellent; you can simply fold these headsets up to save space and conveniently take them virtually anywhere with its compact and lightweight design.

The Verdict? The Kinivo BTH220s are some of the best bluetooth headsets that are available on a budget price. These headsets are capable of very good music performance, producing crisp highs and mids with crystal clarity. Although these headsets are somewhat lacking in bass, they more than make up for it with their volume which can get very loud and perfect for listening or gaming use. The headset comes with an integrated microphone for you to speak as if talking normally through the mobile phone.

One concern that we had with the AMINY is that the volume control can only be adjusted up – if you need to adjust the volume down you have to turn the volume up to its maximum setting and then it will reset from the lowest volume again. 22. Runner Up: LG Tone HBS-760

LG Tone HBS-730 Bluetooth Headset

The LG Tone HBS-760 is one of the best Bluetooth headsets with excellent stereo sound and apt-X audio compression for high quality music streaming. The sound performance of the HBS-760s are a vast improvement over its predecessor, the HSB-730 and are capable of delivering enhanced audio and bass response with its acoustic drivers. The HBS-760 features A2DP Bluetooth connectivity and apt-X audio compression for the highest quality audio streaming. The battery life on the HBS-760 lasts a good 10 to 15 hours of continuous music playtime or talk time depending on the volume. It is built for comfort and stays secure in your ears while working out. It also has a microphone mute function, audible battery status alert and a vibrating call alert for you to take hands free calls on the go. In terms of stereo sound, the HBS-760 is definitely among the best Bluetooth headsets we have heard, and will definitely impress you with its superb sound performance.

As mentioned above, the HBS-760 is a vast improvement in terms of sound performance over its predecessor the HSB-730. The 760s provided a rich, fuller and much more detailed sound with a dynamic frequency range that makes listening to music through this headset a very enjoyable experience. Vocal performances sounded rich and clear, and you can also hear subtle details in your music which you may have not picked up before. We can safely say that the sound quality easily rivals that of mid-tier headsets. It also has very decent bass response that sounds tight and punchy – while the sound quality is certainly not that of audiophile quality, the bass is extremely nice and fun to listen to. If you are looking for the best Bluetooth headset for stereo music and a decent listening experience, the HBS-760s are probably the headsets to get.

The good thing about the HBS-760s is that the come with apt-X technology which reproduces high definition sound over a Bluetooth connection when it is paired to a music source that supports aptX. This allows the music to retain its full digital integrity and provides a more natural sounding listening experience. The HBS-760s is designed to be pretty comfortable with its lightweight neckband that goes round the back of your neck, with secure ear-tips that provide a comfortable seal in the ears. It also comes with magnets which you can use to keep the headset in place during runs or workouts. The headset does fit securely on your ears and stays in place during rigorous exercise; however, we felt that the neckband does have a tendency to flap around your neck if you are running or jumping around. The Bluetooth connectivity on the HBS-760s is pretty good and we did not experience any lag or interference with the Bluetooth connection. Do note however that the Bluetooth range may start to get a little fizzy beyond 20 to 30 feet and break up a little. This is definitely a consideration to take into account if you need to work at a certain distance away from your Bluetooth headset.

The Verdict? Where the LG Tone HBS-760s truly shine is of course its excellent stereo sound – it is one of the best Bluetooth headsets in terms of sound quality that provides a truly pleasurable listening experience. The sound quality is really crisp and clear, and you get decent midrange and bass response from the headset which is pretty incredible considering the budget price. That being said, the neckband does have a tendency to flap around during runs and the Bluetooth connectivity range is somewhat less than other Bluetooth headsets on this list. Despite these limitations, the HBS-760s are overall very comfortable to wear and have a well-constructed design which we liked. If you are in the market for the best Bluetooth headset with great sound performance, you should consider the LG Tone HBS-760s.
