Today Mercedes-Benz introduced the 2017 C-Class Coupe, calling its design “vivid” and “sensual”. Mercedes brags the model brings with it a mixture of both modern luxury and “agile sportiness”, and that it is 60 millimeters longer from front axle to firewall than the previous version. In addition, the model’s suspension sits 15 millimeters lower than the Saloon, and is joined by 17 inch wheels for what the auto maker says is an overall “sporty proposition.”

Comcast ‘Watchable’ video service tipped to rival YouTube
Comcast is working on a video service called ‘Watchable’ that will rival YouTube and other video platforms, say sources. It is possible the name of the service could change before it is officially launched, but the sources indicate that is only a slight possibility. Comcast has reportedly been courting big-name publishers, and will launch the service with content spanning topics from sports to comedy, and more. The service is said to launch in “the coming weeks,” though a specific timeframe was not provided.

There might be no Galaxy Note 5 for Europe
Samsung has just unveiled its two new metal-clad phablets, the Galaxy Note 5and the Galaxy S6 edge+, and is now just waiting for the global launch next week. However, that global launch might not be so global after all. BBC reportsthat due to some still unfathomable logic, Samsung is planning NOT to launch its S Pen toting Galaxy Note 5 in Europe, considered to be a major market for smartphones. This decision could have a negative impact of the phablet, if not in sales then in perception.

Making a case for the stylus today
With Samsung’s next Unpacked event coming up in a few days, and a new Galaxy Note phablet with it, our minds might naturally begin to wonder about Samsung’s almost niche product line. Considering the Galaxy Note could very well be a flagship product of its own, it’s only natural to ask whether there’s still a point to the stylus. Bad puns aside, we take a look at the past to divine the future, whether the digital pen, like its analog counterpart, is indeed just as mighty as the sword. Or in this case, the finger.

HTC seems unable to decide what’s best for itself
HTC has reported that it’s newest strategy for growth is discontinuing models to focus on high-end devices like the HTC One M9. They’ve also suggested this week that they’ll be cutting a “significant” number of jobs in light of recent financial results. There’s no sugar-coating the fact that HTC isn’t doing as well as they did in their smartphone-selling hayday, but in light of their recent success in the high-end segments of markets like India, they’re going the one-way route.

Google did not just turn into Alphabet
In the past half-day since Google announced Alphabet, there’s been just as much confusion as there has been understanding. What Google didn’t do was turn themselves into a different company. What Google DID do was to create an umbrella company that’s able to better handle all the strange or otherwise non-Googley projects they’ve found themselves creating over the past few years. Google isn’t done, and you’re not going to be “Alphabetting” anything when you need to search the internet.

Hyundai “Vision G” Concept gives a glimpse of future luxury
Most of the time, when you hear the word “luxury”, you naturally think of extravagance and no holds barred embellishments. Hyundai, however, believes otherwise and is putting its future luxury models on the line to prove it. The car maker has just revealed the existence of its new “Vision G” Concept Coupe, the car that will be the company’s blueprint for its future premium models. What sets it apart, Hyundai says, is that the Vision G’s luxury design exudes luxury without going over the top.

Tesla to bring charging stations to Manhattan’s parking garages
Tesla is planning to address the problem owners of its all-electric Model S in Manhattan have in trying to find a place to charge in the congested city. According to the New York Times, the car company will be making an announcement later today detailing a partnership with some two dozen parking garages, equipping them with 240-volt chargers for Tesla vehicles. While the charging stations won’t be as quick as the superchargers Tesla has built along highways, they will be much faster than plugging into a standard wall outlet.

It’s the Chevy Corvette’s turn to get hacked
Car hacking seems to be the new black recently. As cars get smarter, they also become more enticing targets to hackers for both fun and profit. From wireless key fobs to Chrysler’s Jeeps to GM’s OnStar, it seems no car is safe. Not evenChevrolet’s Corvette, apparently. Researchers from the University of California San Diego proved that this particular car, and probably others like it, are also susceptible to attacks, giving hackers unmitigated control over certain functions of the car, with some particularly dangerous consequences.

Dodge Charger and Challenger get Plum Crazy
Back in the 60s and 70s, Dodge had some iconic colors that it used on its muscle cars with names like Panther Pink, Moulin Rouge, and Sublime. Dodge may have taken the name of some of those iconic muscle car names and grafted them onto boring econoboxes like the Dart, but it still has some cool cars in the Challenger and Charger.
Dodge has announced that the Plum Crazy purple hue is making a comeback and is available on the Charger and Challenger for the 2016 model year. The bright paint color will make its debut at the 2015 Woodward Dream Cruise on August 15. If you show up at that event, you can lay eyes on Plum Crazy for yourself.

Fiat 500X Abarth Tipped for 200hp
I’ve always thought that the Fiat 500 was a cool little car; the problem is that it’s little. You aren’t getting anyone in the back seats of that thing who has legs. Fiat is now producing larger versions of that Fiat 500, such as the Fiat 500L. A new larger version of the 500 is being considered by Fiat and it would wear the Abarth badge.
For now, the only two Abarth models that Fiat has produced in recent years are the 500 Abarth and the Punto. The Punto never came to the US and the 500 Abarth isn’t exactly popular. Fiat is rumored to be considering a 500X Abarth model.

iCloud.com now lets users restore deleted files
With no announcement whatsoever, Apple has just added a new feature to iCloud.com, the browser version of its cloud storage service, that has it rivaling Dropbox just a tad: the ability to restore recently deleted files. Unfortunately, the feature isn’t exactly easy to find, buried in the Advanced Settings menu, so most iCloud users may not even notice it exists. Should they find it though, they’ll be able to restore documents and other files, in addition to recently deleted contacts and calendar entries.

Sorry, no 128GB Note 5 for you
Yesterday as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was revealed, several listings of a 128GB (internal storage) edition of the device popped up on the company’s own pre-sales site. As it turns out, or as Samsung suggests, there is no such device. Instead, as the company publicly stated in their press releases and Samsung Unpacked special event, just two editions of the Galaxy Note 5 will be available: one with 32GB of internal storage, another with 64GB of internal storage. The same is true of the Galaxy S6 edge+, a device two 32GB and 64GB internal storage, but no 128GB version, despite early listings suggesting the contrary.

The Twitch community is trying to play Dark Souls collectively
Twitch, the live game broadcasting service, has had two successful attempts in the past where all viewers were in control, at the same time, of the game being played. First was one of the original Pokemon games, then came an olderMetal Gear title. Thousands of people, all inputting commands into the chat window. It was madness, but in both cases, they were successful in beating the games. Now the Twitch community is doing it again, but this time with Dark Souls, the first entry in what is easily one of the most difficult series in recent history.
The action-RPG series, by developer From Software, is famous for how punishing it’s bosses are. A single mistake or mis-timed movement results in death. The game eve

JVC GZ-R450 and GZ-R320 camcorders survive water, drops, and shock
Taking a camcorder into the woods or to the beach can spell disaster. Normal camcorders will die a premature death if they get wet or if you drop them. JVChas rolled out a pair of new camcorders called the GZ-R450 and the GZ-R320. The two products share some of the same features including water resistance, drop resistance, and the ability to survive cold weather.
Both camcorders are waterproof to 16.4-feet and can survive being dropped from a height of 4.9-feet. They are also able to survive cold to 14-degrees and they are dust proof. Another cool feature is that both will float if dropped in water making them perfect for use when boating or rafting.

OnePlus 2 iFixit verdict: easier to repair than predecessor
Although the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are hogging all the attention right now, some still have the new-ish OnePlus 2 in their radars. That includes the iFixit team since, well, they won’t be able to get their hands on the new Samsung phablets for a while. Although OnePlus has delayed shipping its latest flagship to the US by almost a month, they did give iFixit their own rare specimen just for the purpose of tearing it apart. Luckily, the outcome was more favorable than the last OnePlus.

Take Two: BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R debuts at Pebble Beach
1975 was a very special year for BMW. Then called “Bavarian Motor Works”, the car maker first set foot in the US that year, the first time it did so outside Europe. It was also on that year that it joined its first US motor race with the now iconic BMW 3.0 CSL. 40 years later, BMW wants to celebrate that momentous year by revealing the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R at the equally popular Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach, giving due respect to the past while, at the same time, blazing forward to the future.

Apple’s OS X 10.10.5 update patches DYLD security vulnerability
Apple has released an OS X system update for Yosemite users, bringing the version up to 10.10.5. While the update addresses a number of small bugs, its primary focus is fixing the recently discussed DYLD privilege escalation security exploit. The vulnerability has the potential to allow malware to get root access to a Mac, which is why concerns were raised last week that Apple may not be issuing a fix until the release of OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Fortunately the company has followed through on its promise, releasing the patch right away.

PlayStation 4 still on top in July, says NPD
Microsoft may have wowed the crowd at Gamescom early this month, and may even have won hearts, but Sony is still winning wallets, at least in July and for now.
