What Is Sling TV? Everything You Need to Know

Cord cutting — ditching cable or satellite TV for online video — appeals to many people who are fed up with high pay-TV bills. Despite the appeal, many people can’t bring themselves to cut the cord because of content they can’t get online (or with an antenna), especially live sports.

The Sling TV streaming service (starting at $20 per month) targets hesitant cord cutters as well as young folks who never had pay TV to begin with. It offers ESPN and a bundle of favorites, such as AMC, A&E, Food Network, HGTV, Lifetime and the Disney Channel. Sling TV also offers discounts on streaming-media boxes for those willing to prepay for service, including $60 off the Apple TV and a free Roku Express when you prepay for three months of service.

Is Sling TV’s cable alternative worth the money? Read on.

You’ve decided you need a mid-sized crossover. But at the same time, you don’t want some boring econobox with snooze-worthy performance.

You want something with at least the pretence of being a little dynamic, because you’re still a car-lover. In another era you may have owned a hot hatch or nimble coupe.

Here are two of the best options you can buy, especially if you can’t stretch to a proper premium offering.

Alienware 17 R4 (QHD, 120Hz variant) review – one of the best out of the box gaming experience you can get right now

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Alienware 17 R4

Alienware is a love it or hate it brand. It has built its name on solid ground offering the most premium gaming notebooks you can get. The company dared to stick the most insane hardware inside and still make it look cool. However, times are changing and the biggest names in the industry want to get a piece of the pie. ASUS, Acer, Lenovo, MSI all of them now have their own versions of an absurdly powerful gaming notebooks while still being competitive in terms of pricing. So why are Alienware notebooks still sensibly pricier than its competitors?

If we call Alienware the Apple in the gaming industry, we wouldn’t be wrong. It’s all about the feel of the product, because the hardware isn’t the whole thing the user interacts with. The company proves that with its latest top-shelf 17-inch model, the Alienware 17 R4. It gathers the best and the latest (well, excluding the CPU because they still haven’t updated it to Kaby Lake) of what the industry offers and puts it in a sleek new body while retaining some of the usual Alienware characteristics.

Irix 11mm f/4 Firefly Review

Irix 11mm F4 Firefly Front Oblique View

It is clear from the moment we receive the classy packaging that this Irix lens is seriously aiming to compete with the best. Nestled within the unusual tin box lies the widest rectilinear (nearly) lens on the market, an incredible 11mm f/4, suitable for full frame Canon, Nikon and Pentax DSLR cameras. There is a choice of Blackstone and Firefly versions, both optically identical and both weather sealed, and here we try out the lighter Firefly version on a Canon EOS 5DS R body. This should be interesting, so let’s look a little more closely at what we have.

Handling and Features

A huge plastic snap-on lens hood protects the equally huge, bulbous front element. When in use, this vulnerable front element is protected from impact and from flare by the efficient looking petal lens hood. The hood is fixed and a part of the lens barrel so there is no possibility of using filters. In any event, keeping feet and the photographer’s shadow out of the images is something to watch and a filter mount would almost certainly intrude on the field of view.

Amazon Music Unlimited review

With more frequent name changes than Cheryl Tweedy, Amazon’s video streaming service has previously been known as Unbox, LoveFilm Instant and Instant Video, before finally emerging as Prime Video.

Anyone familiar with Amazon’s identity crisis might assume the new Amazon Music Unlimited is a rebranded version of Prime Music, the free streaming service exclusively for subscribers of its £8 per month Prime membership.

However, launched in the US in October 2016 and now available in the UK, Amazon Music Unlimited is another music streaming service that is intended to coexist with, not replace, Prime Music.

It stands separate from Prime, so with its ‘open to all’ access and its 40m song catalogue (Prime Music only has 2m) it’s certainly a more credible rival to Spotify.

2017 Ram 2500 And 3500 Heavy Duty Night Package Review

Ram has introduced its latest “custom” truck appearance package, and this time, it’s the Ram Heavy Duty trucks getting some love. The new special edition is called the Night Package, and its available for 2500 and 3500 HDRams with the single rear wheels. The new look includes blacked out exterior trim pieces, black wheels, the massive R-A-M logo on the tailgate, and a murdered out interior with smoked chrome accents.

The Night Package builds of the Sport Appearance Package – an available add-on to the Lone Star, Big Horn, and Laramie trims, which appeals to those wanting a well-equipped, good-looking truck with some unique character. Ram Trucks boss, Mike Manley, put it this way:

“Truck enthusiasts look for ways to stand out from the crowd. The Ram brand understands that it’s important to meet the demands and deliver outstanding, durable products to every type of truck buyer. From the Ram Sport, to the popular Rebel, to the ultimate off-road truck – the Ram Power Wagon – Ram is building the best trucks in the enthusiast segment.”

Viewsonic PJD7828HDL review

Projectors typically require a lot of space, but ones with short-throw lenses can achieve that huge projected image without needing quite as much distance between the projector and the screen.

viewsonic-pro782hdl-05

The Viewsonic PJD7828HDL is one of the cheapest short-throw projectors with full-HD resolution available, and its image quality is very impressive for the money. It also comes with a couple of unusual conveniences like a “hidden” HDMI input perfect for wireless dongles (and streaming sticks) and a cable management cover to improve its looks.

Its main competition among projectors I’ve reviewed recently is the Optoma HD142X ($550). The two have very similar image quality that’s good enough to please the most persnickety of viewers, to the extent that it’s tough to justify a better performer like the BenQ HT2050 ($800). While I liked the Optoma a bit better than the Viewsonic overall, the two were close enough to earn the same picture quality score.

2017 Kawasaki Z900 Review

Kawasaki steps up its bid to grab a slice of the growing naked-bike market with the Z 900 ABS. As demand for the genre increased, so have expectations of performance along with polished looks. Kawi built this ride to replace both the Z800 and Z1000 moving forward into the ’17 model year, so buyers should expect to find plenty of both of those qualities. What did the factory throw on this all-new bike to make it competitive in a minimalist, sportster/roadster market? How will it compare to the other “Big-Four” naked 750s? Let’s check it out and see.

Design

This ain’t no first-gen naked bike, but instead it is a mature, planned-out design. Everything from the body panels to the exposed Trellis frame is built to have minimal impact on the overall panache, and the bike itself winds up as more of just a setting for the gem that is the 948 cc mill. The stressed-engine arrangement leaves the plant well exposed just behind the front wheel, with little to nothing at all left to the imagination, just as it should be.

How to Connect USB Storage Devices to Your Android Phone

Many Android phones use microUSB ports for charging and transferring files back and forth with your PC, but what if the files you need to email your boss are sitting on a Flash drive or a full-size SD card? Fortunately, with some free software and an inexpensive adapter cable, you can attach a USB key or card reader directly to your handset. Here’s how to connect your Android phone to a USB storage device. If you have a newer Android phone that uses USB Type-C, it’s even easier.

LG G6 initial review: The first truly great flagship phone for 2017

For years, the LG G-series has been the Korean company’s smartphoneeffort to outsmart its biggest local rival, Samsung, and do so at a more wallet-friendly price.

But with the less-than-successful launch of the LG G5 last year – largely down to its modular build shortcomings – we assumed that LG would start again from scratch with a brand new series, brushing the remnants of so-called “Friends” modules under the proverbial carpet. We got the latter right, not the former.

Instead LG sticks with the G-series name in the G6, fully redesigning the phone with aplomb. The company is clearly confident in its own new hardware that last year’s disappointment will be quickly forgotten.

Fair-dos, we say, because despite a few minor quirks, the LG G6 is 2017’s first truly great flagship phone.

Intel HD Graphics Guide – Comparison

Every laptop has an integrated GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) built into its processor. And if, like the vast majority of notebooks, a computer is powered by an Intel CPU, it has some form of Intel HD Graphics or Iris Graphics on board.

intel laptops logo

If you want to play high-end games or do serious 3D modeling, you need to get a laptop with a more powerful, discrete graphics chip from Nvidia or AMD that takes over from the Intel GPU when you launch graphics-hungry programs. However, most mainstream users can get good enough performance from Intel’s built-in graphics.

Depending on the Intel HD or Iris Graphics and the CPU it comes with, you can run some of your favorite games, just not at the highest settings. Even better, integrated GPUs tend to run cooler and are more power efficient. Here are some answes to your questions about Intel integrated graphics.

Aerix Black Talon 2.0 Review : Best Racing Drone for Beginners

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Aerix Black Talon 2.0 Review : Best Racing Drone for Beginners

The Aerix Black Talon is a diminutive, but powerful racing drone that offers a low-cost way to get a feel for drone racing. We reviewed the first version last year, but the Black Talon 2.0 reduces the price and improves the video quality for a more seat-of-the-pants flying experience. The rest of the flying experience is the same, though: The drone is fast, maneuverable and fun to fly, though it still has frustratingly short battery life.

Design

The Black Talon 2.0 itself looks identical to the previous version, with a squat, angular design that includes rotor-blade protectors. The controller is also identical, except for the addition of a smartphone holder that fits onto the battery compartment cover. This space can accommodate a smartphone like the Nexus 5X that I used for testing, but not larger devices like the iPad mini.

LG G6 vs Google Pixel XL vs Pixel: What’s the difference?

LG announced its latest flagship smartphone on 26 February 2017 in the form of the G6. The new device brings some exciting features with it, including a huge HDR display in a small premium and waterproof body.

Audeze iSine 10 review

audeze-isine-10-39

Audeze’s iSine 10 is one of the largest and strangest-looking in-ear headphones you’ll encounter, but it’s also one of the best sounding in-ears out there right now.

The headphone looks like Star Wars jewelry that didn’t make the cut: TIE Fighter earrings, perhaps. That’s because the unusual shape is housing Audeze’s 30mm planar-magnetic drivers, which sound very coherent and spacious, with low distortion, and until now have only been found in models that have full-size earcups. (Audeze makes several audiophile-grade over-ear planar-magnetic headphones, as well as the smaller on-ear Sine that I like a lot.)

If “planar magnetic drivers” sounds Greek to you, you’re in good company. Ultimately, what matters is that it’s a totally different technology than what you find in nearly all other mainstream headphones. If you want the technical details, check out Inner Fidelity.

Six Things To Love About Honda’s CRF450R

No doubt about it, Honda’s all-new 2017 CRF450R has re-ignited the competition in the 450cc motocross class.

Thanks to a radically updated version of the CRF450R’s trademark liquid-cooled, fuel-injected Unicam engine, an entirely new aluminum perimeter chassis, a new Showa fork that replaces the previous air-sprung system with more traditional, easy-to-tune coil springs, and the latest Pro-Link rear suspension, the CRF450R has vaulted back to the front lines of the 450cc wars with a vengeance. For Honda fans, the new CRF represents the most exciting 450 yet, and it’s a machine that is sure to win over riders of other brands. Honda’s “Absolute Holeshot” design goal means the new CRF450R boasts an aggressive power delivery that can be tailored with a press of the innovative Engine Mode Select button. Origin EVO15-S review

Over the past few years, the computing industry has seen the release of thinner and lighter laptops, even for gaming-focused machines. Razer popularized the ultra-powerful thin and light gaming laptop with its Razer Blade and others, like Origin, followed suit.

The Origin EVO15-S has been a popular choice amongst gamers who want a powerful laptop that won’t require hitting the gym to carry it around. This year, Origin performed a minor refresh of the EVO15-S by updating it with the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors and NVIDIA graphics. The new processor and graphics cards are so powerful now that the EVO15-S is VR capable.

While the EVO15-S may not be a huge leap forward in terms of performance or design, it remains one of the best options for gamers looking for a thin-and-light 15-inch gaming laptop.

Kyocera DuraForce PRO Ultra-Rugged Smartphone Review

The Kyocera DuraForce PRO ultra-rugged smartphone has launched at three big carriers, and it promises to offer everything the outdoorsy, adventurous mobile user needs. Ultra-durable design? Check. Super-wide-angle HD action camera? Check. Waterproof, dustproof, shockproof, and drop-proof? Check, check, check and check. The phone makes some pretty big promises on paper, but does it hold up to use and abuse in the real world? Read on to find out!

The DuraForce PRO is readily identifiable as a Kyocera phone thanks to its design, which brings with it elements found in many previous handsets from the maker. Design is a matter of taste, of course, but one would be fair in describing this DuraForce PRO model as less than attractive, though such ultra-durable phones rarely have designs to write home about. Most notable are the trio of physical, rectangular buttons near the bottom of the handset. This is joined by a partially textured rear panel with an armor-like layer on top.

2017 Fiat 500 60th Anniversary Review

The modern Fiat 500 has been around for 10 years as of 2017 and so far it has done a great job keeping the original car’s legacy alive. The small size and the vintage design help, but Fiat also launched several special-edition models that paid tribute to the first 500over the last decade. Come 2017 and the Italian firm has developed yet another anniversary model, this time around to celebrate the 500’s 60th anniversary.

One of the most iconic vehicles of all time, the Fiat 500 was launched in 1957 and the first unit was produced in the city of Turin on July 4. Fiat sold over four million examples until the car was discontinued in 1975, making way for the equally successful 126 model. The 500 nameplate was revived in 2007 and the second-generation city car became a success story too. Fiat says that the new 500, which is sold in around 100 countries, will reach sales of two million units in the first half of 2017. This is an impressive figure for a ten-year-old model in this day and age, and needless to say, it wouldn’t have been possible without the legacy of the original Fiat 500.

1080p vs. 4K Gaming : Everything You Need to Know

True 4K gaming is becoming increasingly accessible, which means that PC gamers looking to make the jump have a lot of things to take into consideration. Gameplay performance and frame rates can take a dip when you turn things up to 4K, and upgrading can mean some steep costs.

Here’s what you need to know about 4K and 1080p gaming before deciding what hardware to buy, and how much to spend.

The Basics

4K is poised to be the next standard in image resolution size, with a pixel count of 3840 x 2160, which doubles the traditional HD dimensions of 1920 x 1080, or “1080p.” This means your monitor and, chiefly, your graphics card are going to need a nice upgrade before you can enjoy 4K content. There are currently plenty of options for 4K-ready hardware, but not all games support this resolution, and capable 1080p hardware can cost considerably less than a 4K setup.

Sonos PlayBase vs PlayBar: What’s the difference?

2017 BMW M6 Convertible By G-Power Review

The BMW M6 Convertible may suffer from a lack of identity – is it a sports car, a luxury convertible, or both? But nobody can deny that the German automaker has done the car some favors by blending an aggressive design with serious performance capabilities, bulk and mass notwithstanding. That two-hit combination has propelled the M6 Convertible into a legitimate choice in its segment, and the public has responded in kind, giving the car enough appeal to stand on its own amidst a cacophony of challengers waiting to knock it down a peg or two. The M6 Convertible’s appeal isn’t just limited to customers; it’s also become an attractive project for aftermarket tuners, a lot of whom have taken to building tuning programs for the two-door drop-top. One such tuner, G-Power, is even bringing one to the year’s biggest auto show in Geneva.

Sonos Playbase hands on review

Sonos now has two TV speaker options. This is the Sonos Playbase, which, as you should have guessed, is a soundbase, sitting beneath your TV and aiming to bolster your TV’s sound quality. It joins the Playbar, a soundbar, which can sit in front or below your TV, or even be wall-mounted.

Kết quả hình ảnh cho Sonos Playbase hands on review

And – spoiler alert – if you believe Sonos, that’s pretty much where the differences begin and end. Just as the company keeps things simple when it comes to naming its products, so it aims to keep things simple with this new product.

Simply, if you don’t wall-mount your TV – as Sonos claims around 70 per cent of people don’t – then the suggestion is you would prefer a ‘base to a ‘bar. Now, with the Sonos Playbase, you have that choice. In terms of sound quality and specifications, Sonos says the Playbase is nigh-on identical, despite a noticeably different design. So, is it simply a choice of which shape suits you better?

4 Reasons to Buy Nintendo Switch (and 7 Reasons Not to)

Nintendo’s Switch is here, a new console that bridges the gap between living room and handheld gaming. The $299 system doesn’t have the best specs on the market, but hey, you can use it play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with a Mario game coming out later this year.

However, some reviews of the Switch are fairly mixed. We’ve combed through the details to come up with the reasons you should pounce on the Switch, but also why you might consider holding off.

You should buy Nintendo Switch if…

5 Winning Features of the Sony Xperia XZ Premium

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is one of the highlights of MWC 2017, to the point that it was recognized as the Best New Smartphone at the annual Global Mobile Awards. So what makes the XZ Premium a winner? Here are five reasons.

1. Premium build and attractive design

Just looking at the Xperia XZ alone will already tell you of its quality. It sports what Sony calls the glass loop surface that creates a mirror effect. It’s not an ordinary glass though as it is made from Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5, both the front and back. The top and bottom of the device, on the other hand, are made of metal with diamond cut edges. The camera even has a stainless steel ring. As for its overall design, it has features reminiscent of old flagship Xperias but still looks modern.

2017 Fiat Fullback Cross Review

Panasonic KX-HN6002EW review

Rather like Samsung’s successful SmartThings home monitoring kit, Panasonic has launched its own system that puts the emphasis on security and in this starter pack – priced at £250 (around $305, AU$405) – it concentrates on surveillance. Another difference is that it uses DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecoms) to communicate between the hub unit and the two bundled cameras, making it virtually hack-proof and giving it a much wider range (up to 300m), which better suits commercial premises.

With two wireless IP55-spec waterproof cameras included, you can keep tabs on the perimeter or interior of your property, with alerts being sent to your smartphone, or indeed, your DECT landline if you wish.

Five Things To Love About The Honda CBR500R

If your dreams include parking a brand new Honda RC213V-S or CBR1000RR SP in the garage someday but not just now, it’s nice to know a little of that Championship-winning Honda sportbike DNA is easier to spot than ever in the 2017 CBR500R, and parking one of them in your garage is doable right now. The CBR500R has quite a few things going on for it that bigger sportbikes just can’t match: The ability to travel more than 58 miles on a gallon (25 kilometers on a liter) of fuel is one of them, and greatly reduced maintenance in an incredibly user-friendly package that weighs just 421 lbs. Fitbit Alta HR vs Charge 2: What’s the difference?
