Cambridge Audio G5 review: Sleek and smart Bluetooth speaker

The Cambridge Audio G5 is a mid-size wireless speaker. It’ll fit in a rucksack but certainly not a coat pocket, and the £229/$344 price sits in the same middle ground. It’s not cheap, but is also not so expensive you’ll feel like you need to use the G5 as your main hi-fi.

Packing the right features, good sound quality and a classy looks, the G5 is a decent buy if you want greater volume and scale than something like the tiny terror Bose SoundLink Mini II offers. But just how good is it?

10 Best All-Wheel Drive Vehicles Under 25K

1. 2015 MAZDA CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 is a sporty crossover with excellent handling and great looks. The all-wheel drive model has one engine option: a 184 horsepower 2.5 liter four-cylinder. A six-speed automatic transmission delivers power to all the wheels. Plenty of cargo room is available in the CX-5, making road trips easy.

The steering is tight and responsive and the suspension is finely tuned. Body roll is non-existent and the all-wheel drive makes cornering and harsh weather a non-issue. The interior is well designed, with high quality plastics giving an upscale feel. Two USB ports and an auxiliary jack are easily accessible in the center console. A 7 inch touch screen is used for the Mazda Connect infotainment system and can be controlled with steering wheel controls.

Polar Activity Loop 2 review: Function over form

Polar has been on the fitness tracking scene for a while – like 40 years – creating devices for those who take their activity monitoring a little more seriously. The runners and cyclists of this world who want plethora of stats including heart-rate monitoring and GPS tracking to measure achievements and progress in detail are well served by Polar.

The Polar Activity Loop 2 succeeds the original model that first put Polar into more consumer level territory, taking on the likes of Fitbit and Jawbone. The Loop 2 adds smart notifications, bringing it up to speed with its competition, while still serving step-counting and calories burned – without the bombardment of stats you get with higher-end Polar devices.

10 Best Crossovers

1. CHEVROLET TRAX

Even though it has a cool name, the Chevrolet Trax is the least adventurous of the vehicles in its class. The roomy and comfortable cabin offer plush seats, a hard plastic interior, touch screen radio, 4G LTE , a backup camera, and a lot of airbags to keep you safe.

The Trax is powered by a 138 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, mated to a six-speed automatic. Front or all-wheel drive is available. For stability, safety, and better control in poor weather the all-wheel drive is the better option. The ride is smooth, and is tuned more for comfort than sport. As long as you don’t drive too aggressively, you won’t notice any body roll or have cornering issues. All in all the Trax is an attractive crossover that will suit your needs.

Martin Logan Motion 35XT review

US brand Martin Logan is renowned for its high-end electrostatic speakers, but a few years ago it set about designing more affordable, conventional speakers.

Not everybody can house giant electrostatic panels in their living room however, so these more affordable, conventional Motion speakers join the range.

Since we heard the fun and agile Motion 15 standmounts last year, three new models have joined the now 15-strong line-up, including this larger standmount, the 35XT.

LG 65EF950V 4K OLED review: The best TV money can buy in 2015?

For many serious AV fans – the sort of people who still own or sigh wistfully over the loss of Pioneer or Panasonic plasma TVs – OLED technology has long looked like the answer to their post-plasma TV prayers. The LG 950V (or LG EF9500 as it’s known in the US) is the company’s first affordable(ish) flat 4K OLED panel, following-up the already excellent curved 960V from earlier this year.

2015 Lincoln Navigator review: Lincoln luxes up the Navigator, doesn’t change SUV character

Can we stop trying to pass off SUVs as luxury cars? That was my thought as I drove the 2015 Lincoln Navigator, noting the thin veneer of civility it washes over what is essentially a truck frame. It is, essentially, a Ford Expedition sporting a Lincoln-styled grille, leather seating and niceties such as automatically lowering running boards.

Those trim elements look good, but what really speaks luxury to me is ride quality. I’m talking air suspensions that soak up jolts from the worst that poor road maintenance has to offer, and sound-deadening materials making the cabin a serene place removed from the outside world.

Bang & Olufsen Beolit 15 review: Portable picnic party

Bang & Olufsen is well known for making top notch speakers with quirky design features. In the Beloit 15 it’s as though B&O has taken the concept of a picnic hamper and crammed a bunch of drivers into it for large scale on-the-go sound.

It’s not a boombox in the conventional sense though: its leather carry handle and £399/$599 price tag make it more champagne picnic material than couple-of-tinnies-on-a-park-bench material. The champagne-esque colour scheme seems altogether apt, then.

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens Review

If you’re looking for a dedicated macro lens to use with a Canon DSLR, you’ve got a few choices. Within Canon’s own lineup, there are two great options: the EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro and the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. The “L” version is bigger, heavier, and more expensive, but also features image stabilization, a quiet USM focus motor, and improved performance.

Both lenses are perfect for close-up photography. The 100mm focal length gets in good and close, and the lens’s 1:1 magnification means that objects will be just as large on the image sensor as they are in real life (the definition of a true “macro” lens).

Wired2Fire Diablo Skylake review: an overclocked monster of a PC

The imposing, angular frame of the Wired2Fire Diablo Skylake gaming PC immediately sets it apart from the competition. With a distinctive ridged top panel illuminated in blue and scarcely a straight edge to be seen, the sweeping curves and bulging protrusions of the hefty Zalman Z11 Neo case convey power and style – perfect for a modern gaming PC.
The Diablo Skylake is also based on the Intel Core-i5 6600K processor, overclocked from 3.5GHz to 4.4GHz and fitted with 16GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM. Graphics performance comes from an Overclocked MSI GeForce GTX 970 graphics card identical to those used by both Chillblast and Vibox in their Skylake systems, featuring boosted performance and an enhanced cooling system driven by a pair of twin fans.

What’s the difference between Intel Core i3, i5 and i7? Core i3 vs i5 vs i7

“‘What’s the difference between an Intel Core i3, i5 and i7?‘ is a pretty confusing and intimidating question for the majority of people. On the surface, processors are a little tougher to get your head around than, say, a hard drive, as they are not measured by a metric as simple as capacity in gigabytes or terabytes. Here we’ll explain the differences so you can choose which is best for your PC or laptop.

DJI Osmo review: A hand-held stabilized camera worthy of its price

Thanks to the rise of small action cameras, camera stabilizers (aka gimbals) are becoming more portable than ever. Amazon has plenty of these coming from random Chinese brands, but most are either poorly designed, or only a partial solution to your problem. For instance, they often lack a handset mount for those who need a live screen. There are also gimbals that use smartphones as the camera, but I’ve yet to come across one with raving reviews; the current options appear to be more of a nuisance due to their awkward calibration and erratic stabilization. So unless you’ve tried one and are certain that it works well with your phone, your best bet is to go with a dedicated camera gimbal.
