Oh, this is cool. To be sold alongside the standard Honda CB1100 in Europe, the new CB1100 RS is:

The Alcatel Fierce 4 is about as basic as smartphones get, but for $69 through MetroPCS, basic isn’t all that bad. This budget phone features a sleek design, respectable battery life and a decently colorful display for a fraction of what you’d pay for a pricey flagship. But while the Fierce 4 is good enough for everyday tasks, you can find better cameras and performance on similarly affordable competitors.

Design

The Alcatel Fierce 4’s plastic, no-frills design is in line with the device’s budget price, but the phone is far from an eyesore. Alcatel’s handset features a slick, aluminum-brushed back panel, though it’s pretty prone to fingerprint smudges. The 5-ounce Fierce 4 feels substantial without being too heavy, and its curved rear edges make it comfortable to hold. The Plantronics RIG 400HS ($50) keeps costs down by using a cheap plastic frame and so-so audio drivers, but it also offers a workable, detachable microphone and a convenient setup for PS4 gaming. More expensive console headsets offer better audio and wireless functionality, but the RIG 400HS does what it promises for a reasonable price, particularly for PlayStation gamers.

Design

If you’ve seen the Plantronics RIG 500E from last year, the 400HS is a less expensive version — although not necessarily a better one.

Waterproofing is easily the most exciting bit of the Flex 2, and that’s about it. The wearable doesn’t have any other standout features making it the ideal fitness tracker for people searching for something basic and discrete, but it will leave others wanting. Flex 2 isn’t terribly expensive at $99 but it also could be cheaper for what it offers. Regardless, if you don’t care there’s a screen missing – with haptics and lights your sole source for notifications – and don’t want to throw down money for a Fitbit Alta, the Flex 2 is your best Fitbit option for budget fitness tracking.

Fitbit Flex 2 is the first swim-friendly fitness tracker from the company and we can almost hear the collective sigh of relief.

In the face of the Misfit Speedo Shine 2 and gamut of otherwater resistant trackers, it’s taken Fitbit a long time to answer the call of swimmers. And on paper at least, the Flex 2 looks like the real deal.

Schools need cheap options to outfit their students with computers, and the Dell Latitude 11 for Education (starting at $379) is a clear attempt to fill that need. It’s a full PC that runs Windows 10 and includes a 250GB hard drive to store homework locally. It’s tough enough to withstand bumps and drops. However, this notebook’s Intel Celeron N2840 CPU and 2GB of RAM are sluggish even when nothing is running. Despite the system’s great keyboard and loud speakers, it’s hard to recommend this laptop to students or to teachers who want to outfit classes with tech.

Design

The Dell Latitude 11 for Education has a utilitarian design that is meant more for protection than to show off. The entire chassis is made of black plastic with rubberized black edges for shock absorption, and the lid is unadorned, with the exception of Dell’s logo and an LED light.

For the last few generations, Nvidia’s GeForce line has dominated the GPU market. Sizzle might sell sports cars, but a much more conservative design philosophy guides the hottest segment of the automotive market: small SUVs. If so many people are buying such a simple and purpose-built vehicle over sexier sedans or more sportier haulers, then that certainly must say a lot about what the Honda CR-V brings to the table. When it comes down to it, we hope with our hearts but buy with our brains 90 percent of the time, and if you’ve got a family – or more going on in your life than you can stuff into a traditional four-door – it’s tough find a more logical way to spend your money than on the CR-V.

They’re all large sedans that offer premium-ness in different ways and by different measures. The Roku Express ($30) is the absolute cheapest name-brand streaming player on the market, and it’s also one of the least impressive. While the device is functional and offers a lot of channels, its ugly design and sluggish performance, and the plethora of better options available, undercut the Roku Express at every turn. This Roku is a viable choice for only the most cash-strapped videophile.

Design

I’m not entirely sure what to call the shape of the Roku Express. In truth, it resembles nothing so much as a small, black Twinkie. With a rectangular front and rounded edges at the back, this small box won’t take up much space, but it’s still bigger than the Roku Streaming Stick. The Express’s diminutive size and weight turn out to be something of a problem, as plugging the device into a TV will hoist this Roku into the air by the HDMI cord. You can attach it to the TV with an included adhesive strip, at which point it will stick out like an unsightly tumor.

2017 Kawasaki Ninja H2, And Ninja H2R Preview

Kawasaki’s jaw-dropping Ninja H2 and H2R are back for 2017, and joining them is a third member of the family, the Ninja H2 Carbon. While Kawasaki are calling the Carbon a third member of the Ninja H2 family, the title is slightly deceiving as the bike is essentially a standard Ninja H2 with a carbon fiber upper cowl, bringing it visually closer to the Ninja H2R. The carbon cowl will also be available as an accessory from Kawasaki, able to retrofit onto prior H2 models.

Other differences include a matte version of the silver-mirror paint – the same as used on the H2R. Lastly, only 120 H2 Carbon will be made, so each will have its serial number stamped into the supercharger plate on the right side of the engine.

Hands-on and in-depth with the Sony a6500

Sony has announced the a6500, its top of the line APS-C E-mount mirrorless camera. It may look a lot like the a6300 but it’s a higher spec (and more expensive) sister model.

It’s based around the same copper-wired 24MP CMOS sensor as the a6300 but it adds several key features: most notably in-body image stabilization and touchscreen control.

An even faster Alpha

The a6500 still features the same 425 on-sensor phase detection elements as the a6300 and still shoots at at same 11 frames per second maximum burst rate, but a deeper buffer and additional processor allow it to shoot over 300 JPEG frames in a burst (or 100 frames when shooting Raw + JPEG).

The buffer and additional processing power also allow faster image review after having shot a burst, the company promises, which should avoid the frustrating ‘camera busy’ warnings that previous Sonys have been prone to give.

ASUS’ new budget performer the X550VX, or known as K550VX in Europe, delivers unmatched power for the asking price and it’s an ideal choice for gamers on a budget. But, of course, $800 for Core i7-6700HQ CPU with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M (2GB GDDR5), surely there are some trade-offs. In this case, it’s the screen. The only available screen options are with TN panels and most of them feature HD (1366×768) resolution. Full HD is optional.

This makes the notebook so lucrative for users valuing power on the go but when it comes to gaming, an external monitor is essential for good gaming/multimedia experience. While the X550VX offers a GTX 950M GPU with GDDR5 VRAM, HP’s performance-centric version of the Pavilion 15 and the much more expensive Lenovo Ideapad 700 bring the standard DDR3 VRAM version of the graphics chip. One thing is for sure, though, X550VX’s performance is unmatched in this price range.

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 V Hands-on Review

Not surprisingly, the Mark V looks a whole lot like its predecessors. It continues to use a 1″-type 20.1MP sensor (more on that in a minute) and 24-70mm equiv. F1.8-2.8 lens, and sports the same pop-up viewfinder with 2.36M-dot OLED panel as the RX100 III and IV. The big improvements are all under the hood.

Phase-detection autofocus

The RX100 V’s sensor is of a similar stacked design to the Mark IV’s but gains 315 phase-detection AF points covering 65% of the frame. Combined with a front-end LSI chip, the RX100 V’s AF system is capable of acquiring focus in as little as 0.05 sec.

The main benefit of phase detection elements on the sensor is that they give the camera an understanding of the depth and where your subject exists in the scene. This not only means faster focus but should also allow more reliable subject tracking, since the camera has additional information to help it determine your subject and its location.

Months of speculation and sky-high anticipation has finally come to an end. Google has taken the wraps off the flagship phones that’ll supplant last year’s Nexus smartphones as the premiere Android hardware experience. They’re called the Pixel and Pixel XL, in keeping with the Pixel branding that began with Google’s high-end Pixel Chromebook in 2014. The phones were manufactured by longtime Android phone maker HTC and they pack high-end specs that measure up to some of the best the competition has to offer.

Take the 5-inch Pixel, for instance. It’s the decidedly more diminutive of the two, but packs a processing punch. It’s crafted from a combination of machined metal and glossy plastic under which sits a 5-inch, Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) AMOLED screen. Powering the handset’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and around its front and back are cameras with optical image stabilization and assisted autofocus. It’s running the newest version of Android, 7.1 Nougat.

The iPhone 7 is water and dust resistant to IP67, while the Pixel is only IP53, meaning it cannot be submerged.

LG X POWER REVIEW

The list of things you can do with a smartphone seems to get longer every couple of years, but one bugaboo that always seems to stand in the way is battery life. Keeping the lights on and the data flowing requires more and more under the hood, which explains why smartphone battery capacity has been creeping up faster than before.

LG leapfrogged others with the X Power, cramming a huge, 4,100mAh battery into a relatively small frame, climbing to the top of the battery-life food chain for mid-range handsets. Its name feels appropriate, but how much “power” is there in this phone otherwise?

It’s important to put the LG X Power in context: This phone is a far cry from the company’s flagship G5, and the only thing “bigger” or “better” here is the battery. Corners had to be cut everywhere else to make the X Power really competitive on price (it’s $150 at Cricket).
