Wicked Audio ARQ review

The title of the best true wireless earbuds is usually being battled for held by the likes of Samsung Galaxy Buds and Apple AirPods (2019), but that title is constantly being threatened by affordable pretenders.

Some of these cheaper models, like the Optoma NuForce BE Free5s give brands like Apple and Samsung a run for their money. Wicked Audio’s ARQ true wireless earbuds, on the other hand, do not.

The 2019 Chevy Silverado hints at future autonomous trucks in one specific way

Someday, a truck will be more like a rolling, portable workshop than something you actually drive. In many ways, trucks are already heading in that direction, and one early sign of progress is the new power outlet in the truck bed of the 2019 Chevy Silverado.

Granted, it’s a fairly minor addition. However, I decided to try quite a few tests with the outlet to see how it all worked, and what life with a truck in the future might be like.

Samsung Notebook Odyssey Z review

Samsung has continued its ‘Odyssey’ into true gaming laptops with the updated Notebook Odyssey Z. This laptop isn’t the most powerful Samsung gaming laptop, as that title goes to the model it showed off at CES 2019, but it offers a balanced package with a more portable 15.6-inch display, an 8th-Generation Intel Core i7 processor (CPU), and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics.

2020 Jaguar F-Type Review

No one needs a 2020 Jaguar F-TYPE, but it’s completely understandable to really, really want one. The tricky part is which version of this sport/luxury 2-seater car to buy. There’s the initial decision of fixed-roof coupe or convertible. After that, there are budget and power considerations to take into account.

The Galaxy Fold was postponed, but Samsung is still planning a rollable phone

2020 Jaguar XE Review

The 2020 Jaguar XE brings the highly renowned Jaguar style and supple ride quality to the premium compact sedan class. AMD RX 5700 XT vs. Nvidia RTX 2070: Spec comparison

At E3 2019, AMD revealed not only its full stack of Ryzen 3000 CPUs, but also its new-generation of “Navi” graphics cards, now known as the RX 5700 series. Based on a new RDNA architecture and built on a 7nm process node, just like AMD new-generation CPUs, the RX 5700 series is the most advanced line of graphics cards AMD has ever released. At the top of the line is the RX 5700 XT, the flagship of that range with some serious performance capabilities.

Five months later, the HP Spectre Folio is still one of my favorite laptops

As a laptop reviewer, I’m often spending time with the latest and greatest devices. Laptops that push the envelope in design and performance, and lately, even those with a more adventurous form factor. Not all these are successful, but one that sticks out in my mind over the past year or so is the HP Spectre Folio, a convertible 2-in-1 literally constructed of leather.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Review

As a followup to the all-new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 that bowed for 2019, Chevrolet has introduced an all-new Silverado HD for 2020. Boasting a polarizing new design, an all-new gas engine and an increased towing capacity, buyers will find a lot to love in the new Silverado HD, which offers some great tech, including an available camera system that allows you to see inside and behind your trailer, making towing easier than it’s ever been. Sony’s super-tall Xperia 1 is the first smartphone with a 4K OLED display

Sony has had a rough history when it comes to smartphones. Last year, the company vowed to do away with its boxy design philosophy and adopt more modern sensibilities. But the tech landscape changes quickly, and those phones are already starting to look a little dated. At Mobile World Congress 2019, Sony unveiled three new phones it hopes will lead the company into the future, though whether Sony really has a future in the mobile business remains to be seen.

2020 Audi Q7 gets a face-lift, updated infotainment system, mild-hybrid tech

The 2020 Audi Q7 is getting a handful of updates, incorporating Audi’s latest tech. The three-row family SUV gets revised styling, as well as the newer version of Audi’s MMI infotainment system previously seen on the Q8 and other models. The Honor 20 is a great phone, but it lives in the shadow of its siblings

The Honor 20 is a great little phone. It’s lightweight, has a decent camera, comes in a shiny color, and isn’t all that expensive. Despite this, not only is it difficult to recommend, but I also question why it needs to exist at all. I have no doubt there are many justifiable business reasons behind it, but when the Honor 20 Pro and Honor 20 Lite seem to give us all we need, the standard Honor 20 feels redundant.

2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty Tremor is as unstoppable as an earthquake

Ford F-150 pickup truck buyers looking for more off-road capability can upgrade to a Raptor, but Ford has never offered an equivalent model for the larger F-Series Super Duty. The new-for-2020 Tremor package isn’t quite a Super Duty Raptor, but it does add more off-road ability to Ford’s heavy-duty pickup truck.

Instead of trying to be a bigger Raptor, the 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty Tremor is designed to take on the Ram Power Wagon. Like the Power Wagon, the Tremor is an upgraded version of a heavy-duty truck, and was built to excel at slow, technical rock crawling.

Valve Index review

There’s little doubt that the Valve Index is the next-generation VR headset people have been clamouring for: It has an ultra-crip display that runs fairly well even with older GPUs, a wider field-of-view, a higher refresh rate and Valve’s knuckle controllers that can track the movement of every finger.

All said, it’s the complete VR package that we wanted three years ago.

HP Envy x360 13 (2019) review

Chip maker AMD is on a roll at the moment, having recently announced its new third-gen Ryzen CPUs. But that’s a desktop processor. What of its mobile offerings?

Enter the HP Envy x360 13 2-in-1 convertible. It’s not an entirely new laptop. Indeed, we’ve seen it before last year. But it has been upgraded with AMD’s latest 3000 series APU. The previous version of the Envy x360 13 made do with the AMD Ryzen 2000 series chip and didn’t entirely blow us away with either its outright performance or battery life.

Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S review

A big challenge for camera makers launching any new mirrorless system is having enough lenses to tempt people to adopt it. Developing a full range of optics takes time and a lot of investment, and it’s a process that a number of manufacturers are currently engaged in.

Like Canon, Nikon has made it as easy as possible for early adopters of its latest Z6 and Z7 models to use existing lenses designed for SLR and DSLR bodies through an adapter, but part of the appeal of the new line is that it arrives with new lenses, ones that exploit the physical and technological advantages of the new system.

Google Stadia games will cost the same as full price console titles (even if they’re only streamed)

The fact that Google Stadia, the game streaming service from the search giant, will work over your internet connection and not require a traditional console, has lead some to speculate that the price of its games may be notable cheaper than those you’d buy for other platforms.

After all, to get the high-res, 4K versions of the games, you’re going to already need to be paying out for a pricey internet connection, and a premium subscription to the Google Stadia service itself. The fact that the most sought-after releases will cost an additional fee may irk some.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2.7T review

Even though engine downsizing is a common trend among all types of vehicles of late, people still tend to associate full size pickup trucks with big V8s. Six-cylinder engines have become more commonplace these days, with trucks like the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 offering solid six-pot options. But Chevrolet is taking matters one step further.
