AirPods 3 could make their debut September 14 with better battery life

After what seems like endless months of rumors and speculation, it’s almost a certainty that Apple will announce its next version of its AirPods line of true wireless earbuds at the company’s planned “California Streaming” event on September 14.

Multiple reports from DigiTimes, Forbes, and Bloomberg are in agreement that the long-awaited update to Apple’s massively popular iconic white buds will debut alongside the iPhone 13 (or whatever Apple decides to name its next smartphone).

The latest rumors, provided by leaker Max Weinbach via 9to5mac, suggest that the AirPods 3 will have wireless charging by default (it’s currently a $50 upgrade on the standard AirPods), and the case will have a bigger battery — possibly as much as 20% bigger.
