HP EliteDisplay E243p Sure View Monitor keeps shoulder surfers out

It isn’t just smartphones that are prone to having curious bystanders taking a sneak peek at the screen. Even more critical are computer screens in offices or, worse, public spaces that may be susceptible to shoulder surfing by unauthorized people, be it hackers, spies, or just curious passers-by. To help combat that, HP has developed together with 3M its “Sure View” privacy screen technology which it is now putting on its new EliteDisplay E243p, up for display, no pun intended, here at CES 2019.

The concept is really simple. At the push of a button, Sure View will dim the monitor’s brightness and artificially reduce its viewing angles down to around 80 degrees.
