Rare Porsche for The Bend

Porsche 911 GT1 Evo will be star attraction at motoring celebration

An ultra-rare road-going Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution will be a star attraction at The Bend Classic in September.

Recently purchased by a South Australian collector, the car is a unique example of the racing model that led Porsche’s charge at the Le Mans 24 Hour in the 1990s.

So what makes this car unique? While Porsche made 23 road-going 911 GT1s to satisfy homologation requirements, this is the only known example among the 18 built for endurance racing that has been converted to road use.

This car won the Canadian GT championship on three occasions, made regular starts in the Daytona 24-hour race in Florida and amassed 13 wins from 31 race starts prior to its conversion to road use.
