Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s next-generation gaming console, and will be coming alongside the PS5 later this year as it ushers in the next chapter of the console wars. Micrsoft has slowly but surely been releasing information on the machine in recent weeks, with a major showcase set to take place on July 23rd.
The design, specifications and overall vision for Microsoft’s upcoming console will be a stark departure from everything that came before it. The company isn’t interested in exclusives, expressing a vision of forwards compatibility where nobody gets left behind. So it will be adopting a similar user interface and the same ecosystem as Windows 10 and its existing selection of platforms.
Many questions remain, but we do know the innards of the console alongside some of the features it will support such as real-time ray tracing and Smart Delivery, the latter allowing you to purchase a game on older consoles and have the title itself alongside all your saves and achievements carrying over for now additional cost.
