Xiaomi Mi Band 5: Company confirms it’s still on track for 2020 launch date

June is the rumored date – but is that even realistic?

Xiaomi has again confirmed that the Mi Band 5 is in the works and will be released in 2020, as the company preps the next generation of its super-selling fitness tracker.

Rumors have been circulating that subsidiary Xiaomi could split from Huami, which would jeopardise the release of the Mi Band 5. But the company took to Weibo in April 2020 to deny any rumors of a split, and confirm that the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 was still on the way. However, with the world in lockdown, we’d caution against placing bets that it will land in June like previous Mi Band models.
