Pixel 4a: Google’s next smartphone release date confirmed

Google has finally announced a launch date for its long-awaited Pixel 4a, months after the phone was originally expected to hit shelves back in May. With less than a week to go until the launch, here is everything we know about the Pixel 4a so far, including camera details, price and when exactly we expect to hear more. 

The Pixel 4a has easily become one of the most built up launches of 2020, with rumours flying in well past Google’s usual release schedule with no word from the company. The Pixel 3a was a huge success for the company, squeezing the Pixel 3‘s showstopping camera into a significantly more affordable handset. Unfortunately for Google, the delayed release means the mid-ranger will have to contend with recent releases, such as the OnePlus Nord and the Moto G 5G Plus. Both phones feature next-gen 5G and 90Hz displays with budget price tags, potentially outshining the Google handset.
