AMD Ryzen 7 Extreme Edition Renoir APU turns up on 3DMark – could be for a future Microsoft Surface device

An AMD Ryzen 7 Extreme Edition APU has been spotted on 3DMark revealing some of its secrets. The chip appears to have a base clock of 1.8 GHz and is an 8-core part that can utilize 16 threads. It has been speculated that the Ryzen 7 Extreme Edition could eventually find its way into a future Microsoft Surface device.

Tum Apisak has found an AMD Ryzen 7 Extreme Edition APU listed on the 3DMark benchmark database. The record affords some interesting details about the new member of the Renoir family, such as its status as an 8-core, 16-thread mobile processor.
