AMD Ryzen 7 1700 vs Intel Core i7-7920HQ – the best laptop CPUs

This time we are going to take a look at two of the best high-end laptop CPUs that are the leaders in our “Top Laptop CPU” ranking – AMD Ryzen 7 1700 and Intel Core i7-7920HQ.

Actually, the Ryzen processor is a desktop-grade CPU but its TDP and thermals are relatively low so it’s also accommodated in gaming notebooks too. ASUS has done exactly this thing with its ROG GL702ZC although at the expense of slightly higher temperatures and shorter battery life.

For its rival, we have chosen the Intel Core i7-7920HQ which is not the highest ranked Intel Core processor but the ones above it are overclocked. Taking a look at the graph below, you can see that AMD Ryzen 7 1700 is the faster and better compared to its competitor with performance gap around 73% but this is definitely not surprising as it takes the first place in our ranking.
