10 cores and 5.3 GHz — Intel possibly hits the limits of the Skylake architecture with the new 10th gen Comet Lake-S for desktop

Intel has finally taken wraps off its 10th generation Comet Lake-S desktop CPU lineup. Comet Lake-S could possibly the penultimate of the 14nm processors from Team Blue, and the flagship 10C/20T Core i9-10900K offers thermal velocity boost frequencies up to 5.3 GHz. The 10th gen lineup includes processors from 35 W to 125 W TDP and will be available from May 2020.

After having launched the 10th generation Comet Lake-H (CML-H) series for laptops earlier this month, Intel is now taking wraps off the Comet Lake-S (CML-S) series for desktops.
