Random thoughts race through my mind as I climb over the roll cage and strap in behind the wheel of Honda’s Rugged Open Air Vehicle (ROAV) concept. Why aren’t all desert racers convertibles? What have I done to deserve this bounty? Who invented liquid soap and why?

This radically modified Honda Ridgeline mid-size pickup, which debuted at last year’s SEMA show, is far from a Baja 1000-ready trophy truck, but the vibe is there.
