The theme of racing is perhaps one of the most frequently brought up in films and has its own fans. Understandably, besides being fun, this racing scene can make your adrenaline rush. So, Loopers, here are the 5 best racing movies that you must watch!

1. The Italian Job

The original version of this best racing film was set in 1969 and starred Michael Caine, featuring Mini cars in exciting chase scenes. In this remake, made in 2003 and starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, and Erward Norton, the scene that is sure to be remembered is the speeding driving of a Mini Cooper.

The scene that became the mainstay was when the three cars descended the stairs, into the Los Angeles subway line to the aqueduct, being chased by hired bodyguards. It’s really fun!

2. The Fast and the Furious

This is the first film from doolix.co the well-known franchise, Fast and Furious, which is still being produced. The Fast and Furious franchise has so far made 9 films about the adventures of Dominic Torreto and his friends.

This best racing film is about a cop named Brian O’Connor (played by Paul Walker) who disguises himself as a street racer and gets to know Dominic Torreto (played by Vin Diesel) while investigating a truck hijacking case. Brian O’Connor finally had to choose his duty as a police officer or his new status as a friend of Dominic Torreto.

3. Drive

Director Nicolas Winding Refn said he was inspired by Point Blank (1967) and The Driver (1978) when making this best racing film. Ryan Gosling plays a driver, a Hollywood stunt driver who can also be hired as a “paid driver”.

The most exciting scene is at the beginning of the film where the driver is hired to take the robbers away. Thrilling when he has to dodge the police chase. Not only speeding, but also how the driver had to drive his car slowly so as not to be caught while listening to the police radio to avoid and find a way to escape.

4. Need for Speed

If you are not a fan of F1, or are still unfamiliar with the name Ayrton Senna, it is highly recommended to watch this film that documents the journey of the best racer in F1 history. In the best racing film with a duration of about 100 minutes, it summarizes the life journey of Ayrton Senna in full.

The story of his journey starts from being involved in Go-kart racing, joining the Toleman F1 team, obtaining the first podium at the 1984 Monaco GP, three times world champion, the most historic competition with his teammate, Alain Prost, to the accident that became the end of his life at the age of 18. -34 years, everything is summed up very well and dramatically through this best racing film.

5. Rush

When it was released, Rush received a lot of praise from fans, filmmakers, and film critics. Rush is the best racing film based on a drama biographical story. Not a few people think that Rush is one of the best racing films of all time ever made.

This is arguably natural because Rush is almost entirely dominated by the story of the rivalry of two F1 drivers, James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl), during the racing season in 1976.

The rivalry between these two F1 car drivers has started since 1970 when both of them were still struggling in F3. At that time, the winning position was held by James Hunt who managed to snatch the finish line first beating Niki Lauda. Niki Lauda’s nightmare “forced” him to fight harder in order to avenge his defeat in the world’s most prestigious racing event, the World Championship.
