Sony has introduced the FE 14mm f/1.8 GM lens for its full-frame E-mount cameras. The lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight: approximately 1/3 the weight of the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art FE ($1,599) (460 vs 1170 grams).
The 14mm F1.8 has 14 elements arranged in 11 groups, including one aspherical and two ‘extreme’ aspherical elements, as well as ED (extra-low dispersion) and ‘super’ ED glass to suppress chromatic aberrations.
