Sigma has announced its new 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens for L and E mounts. The company says that its design is based on that of the 24-70mm F2.8 Art, and makes the bold claim that image quality will be comparable.
As of now, the 28-70 is the smallest and lightest lens in its class, according to Sigma: it’s just 102mm (4″) long and weighs in at 470g (1lb). It has a total of 16 elements, which include 2 FLD, 2 SLD and 3 aspherical elements.
