Canon shows first footage from its unusual RF 5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens

Earlier this month, Canon announced an unusual addition to its RF lens lineup, the Canon RF 5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye Lens. It’s the world’s first digital interchangeable lens that captures stereoscopic 180° images onto a single image sensor for processing in virtual reality (VR) software.

When the lens was announced, we saw its design, but Canon didn’t publish any images or video recorded using the new VR-centric optic. However, Canon Japan has since published 4K VR footage, which can be seen below.
