In an age where smartphone camera performance is top notch, the future of compact cameras hangs precariously in the balance.

But when it comes to DSLRs, all you have to do is look at the resulting images to get your answer. And in case you haven’t figured out what we’re trying to get at by now, the answer is no, your smartphone can’t replace a DSLR – yet. And the D500 is a very good example of why.

Starting today, the Nikon D500 is available at S$2999 (body only) or S$3999 (body with 16-80mm VR lens).
