It’s got an Aventage price, but does it deliver Aventage performance?

The Yamaha RX-A2A is a capable 7.1-channel AV receiver that supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and the MusicCast multi-room system. The new design is eye-catching, although the display disappoints, and there will be HDMI 2.1 via future firmware updates. However, the amplification seems under-powered and it doesn’t really do enough to differentiate itself from the range below.
