The LG Xboom Go PL5 is part of a new lineup of portable, outdoor-friendly speakers. At $129.99, its water-resistant build and color-changing LED rings are both strong points in the design department, but when it comes to audio, the PL5 delivers a less compelling performance than other speakers in this price range. Tracks with deep bass can distort through the modest drivers, which seems at odds with the otherwise party-friendly design.
