For a carmaker shifting primarily to trucks and SUVs, Ford should do better than the 2020 Ford EcoSport as its entry-level crossover/SUV. It certainly falls short of what Mom would have called “putting your best foot forward.” As often happens when an auto manufacturer plucks a vehicle conceived and engineered for a foreign market out of that market to fill a product gap in the U.S., it simply doesn’t go well.
