There was a brief time, when wearing the original Pebble smartwatch meant sporting the hippest piece of consumer technology on the planet.

The e-paper smartwatch debuted in April 2012 as the first true Kickstarter phenomenon. It was one of those products tech enthusiasts just love to show off, and perhaps the first wearable MVP.
