That’s where the new $179 Gear Fit 2 comes in: Samsung took the fitness formula it developed two years ago, polished it up a bit and added a few features that have become de rigueur for higher-end workout wearables. First, the broad strokes. The Gear Fit 2 is nearly the same size as the model that came out two years ago; it’s just a little longer and a little wider to accommodate the updated display. That would be the 1.5-inch curved AMOLED screen, which is almost twice as wide as the original to better display your stats. An added bonus of this tweaked design is that the Gear Fit 2 is so, so much more comfortable to wear than its predecessor. Seriously, it’s a night-and-day difference — no small thing on a device you’re supposed to wear 24/7.
