New sleep and GPS features heading to Charge 4

A new update for the Fitbit Charge 4 is rolling out that’s bringing a bunch of new features to the fitness tracker.

The first major update to the Charge 4 sees a Smart Wake feature land, which wakes you at the optimal part of your sleep cycle, rather than at a specific time.

It’s a feature we’ve seen on various devices for a long time. The idea is that you set the latest alarm possible, and your Fitbit will try and find a period of light sleep in the preceding 30 minutes to wake you. The idea is that you’ll wake more easily and without that feeling of morning grogginess.
