The new special edition TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph honors the Carrera “Dato 45.”
If you’re a serious fan of the Heuer Carrera, you may be familiar with one of the more niche models, the Dato 45. Released in 1965, this particular Carrera was available in several iterations and featured a 45-minute counter (either alone or accompanied by a running seconds counter), plus a date wheel at either 9 o’clock or 12 o’clock. Placing a date wheel in a chronograph was unusual in the mid-60s and they didn’t sell particularly well upon launch.
