The market for selfie-centric phones has been booming in India ever since Oppo, Vivo and the likes started positioning their phones around their front cameras. A lot has been done to enhance the quality of selfies — AI beautification, dual cameras, portrait mode and what not. Xiaomi too jumped into the selfie bandwagon with the Y series last year. Aimed at the selfie-crazy youth, the Redmi Y1 last year was quite the hit.
