Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 vs ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 – Quick Comparison Review

Two mid-range beasts attempt to battle it off!

Xiaomi made a statement with its Redmi line by unveiling the Redmi Note 5 (Redmi Note 5 Pro in India). Aside from boasting of a Snapdragon 636 processor and up to 6GB of RAM, what makes the Redmi Note 5 impressive is its price: starting at CNY 1099(~$173) for the 3GB/32GB variant, it is no doubt one of the most affordable mid-range phones out there to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor.

Not to be outdone, ASUS surprised everyone with the ZenFone Max Pro (M1). An India exclusive as of this writing, the ZenFone Max Pro (M1) attempts to one-up the Redmi Note 5 by offering a bigger battery and—as ASUS puts it—a pure Android experience. With a price of  INR 11,000 (~$165), the ZenFone Max Pro (M1) is also cheaper than the Redmi Note 5is really hard to choose between the two. That being said, let’s do a quick comparo between the two:
