The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 could cost less than we thought

Most cutting edge technology starts off expensive and then gets cheaper over time, and that’s likely to be the case for foldable phones as well – and a new leak suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 might not cost quite as much as its predecessor.

The 5G-ready Galaxy Z Flip that launched in July 2020 originally retailed for $1,449 / £1,399 / AU$2,599, but a new leak from tipster @FrontTron on Twitter suggests that the next clamshell-style foldable from Samsung is going to sell for $999-$1,199.

A straight currency conversion puts that at £715-£860 / AU$1,275-AU$1,530 but that’s not how Samsung will set the prices.
