Samsung has filed a patent for a foldable phone with a “waterproof housing”. The document’s images depicts this device as similar to the Galaxy Fold, but with a tougher-looking, possibly thicker, chassis. However, the internal tablet-sized screen remains more or less the same.
According to a new patent found on the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) database, Samsung has designed a new twist on its original foldable-phone form factor. It has a new chassis described as “waterproof”, and contains a detailed discourse on how it excludes liquids, and how internal components such as its display connectors and flexible PCBs fit in and around the additional casing.
