Ericsson trials wind and solar powered mobile sites in Germany

Ericsson and Deutsche Telekom are exploring how wind can power 5G mobile sites in order to reduce emissions and help operators cope with soaring power costs. The site in Dittenheim in Bavaria has been part powered by 12 square metres of solar panels for more than a year. Now the two companies have added a wind turbine capable of providing up to 5 kilowatts of additional power.
