Android’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip can’t compete with Apple’s A16 (or A15)

One thing you can always count on in the battle of devices for your money is that chip manufacturers will tout the breakthrough performance of their latest CPU. Earlier this week, Qualcomm revealed its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and the company is of course touting performance gains of up to 35 percent over its predecessor, the Snapdragon Gen 1. .

While iPhone users likely don’t give a hoot about a chip that’s for Android phones, it is interesting to see how it compares to Apple silicon in the real world.
